Shot two

When you are around someone so much, for so long, they become a part of you. And when they change or go away, you don't know who you are without them...

Few days later

A lot of had been changed since the day virat confessed to manvi about his unconditional and selfless love. Their relation had been changed and they even didn't talk properly from that day. Virat so badly wanna ask her that why she rejected his proposal? Is there any problem which he don't know? His heart ached but he didn't show any sign of hurt on his face and tried to remain same as he used to before but what about the hurt which he got on his heart, where only one name is written and that is manvi. Would he able to forget her or would wait for her?

On the other hand manvi was also hurt to see her bestest friend in pain. She knew that she hurt his feelings but she had no other option. she wanted to talk with virat for once and clear everything between them. She wanted her best friend back not a lover who loves her she just wanted her friend nothing else. Love is something which she can't imagine in her life. It doesn't mean that she hate love, but some truths are better to keep hidden coz ugliest truth always hurt...

Manvi was walking in the corridor of college aimlessly lost in her thoughts when she saw Rohan. She wanted to ask him about virat coz he start disappearing from the day he proposed and attend his lectures very less.

"Rohan" rohan stopped walking as he heard manvi calling him. He gave her a cold n angry look. Manvi walked toward him

"ermmm rohan did you see virat anywhere?" she asked in little hesitation and bit her tongue

"no I didn't see him" he replied coldly "btw why are you asking about him or why are you bothering about him so much" he asked in cold and rude manner. Rohan being a friend of virat was angry on manvi that she rejected his friend's proposal in front of everyone

"what do you mean rohan he is mine friend too" manvi replied calmly but rohan's rude behavior hurt her

"oh really I don't think so" he said nonchalantly "you know what manvi you doesn't deserve him. He deserve someone more better than you, the one who value his love but what to do he only found you on this whole earth. I don't know what's your problem is but rejecting him you have done a grave mistake and you will regret it coz virat is a true gem who fall for you" saying that he left from there. Manvi's eyes welled up and she closed her eyes to stop her tears.

"you are right Rohan.. he deserve someone more better than me" she said in choking voice and gulped the lump in her throat to stop her tears. Soon the bell of next lecture rand and she escorted toward classroom with a heavy heart...

Sometime it's very difficult to forget the person whom you admire every time like a precious gem. Virat entered in classroom with a sober and dull expression. Manvi who was already present there took a deep breath of relief when she saw him. But to her utter disappointment he didn't spare even a single glance at her. What hurt her most was his dull and hurt expression. Manvi looked down in guilt coz she is the reason of his this condition and she cursed herself for being so tough...

Soon the lecturer came in class and start her lecture and whole class gone silent. But was one person whose mind was not listening what the teacher was saying and that person was manvi. Although she was present in class but her mind was not present there. She was stealing glances at virat every now and then during the lecture but he didn't look at her for even once and it hurt her. she wanted to have a good talk with virat but didn't get any chance and moreover she wasn't sure that what would she speak to him.

Suddenly manvi felt throbbing pain in her head and her whole body ached. She took some fast breathes to lessen her pain. Then she removed her glasses and hold her head in her palms and massage her temples to provide relief...

"miss manvi are you ok?" lecturer asked as she saw manvi in uncomfortable position. Manvi snapped her head looking upwards to tecturer

"umm yes miss I am ok" manvi replied with calm expression and fake smile. The reason was she wasn't ok and she was having bad head ache. Soon their class comes to an end and students hurried out from classroom but manvi didn't walked out as she was feeling uneasiness in her body. She sat there still and buried her head in books holding her head still in her palms. Soon darkness start blurring her vision and she closed her eyes welcoming the darkness

One hour later

She opened her eyes still throbbing pain in her head. She was having difficulty when she opened her eyes. She looked around the environment and found herself on the bed of college dispensary. Suddenly her eyes fell on Rohit and Raina who were looking at her worriedly. Fear gripped her heart when he found them staring at her worriedly.

"manvi are you okie now" Raina asked with concern and manvi respond nodding her head

"Thank god you are ok now. You know what scared us all" raina said with worry face and manvi looked at her in confusion

"relax I am fine don't need to worry" manvi replied getting up from bed but suddenly she felt a strong arm gripping her shoulder. Manvi looked up at the source and found virat staring at her without any expression. Does he know she thought to herself

"don't you dare to get up. Doctor told you need rest" he said again with calm and sober expression which confused manvi more. In whole lecture virat caught her stealing glances at him through the corner of his eyes and he felt her uneasiness and something wrong with her. so at the end of the class when whole class rushed out he waited for manvi to walk out but he saw her fainting then passed out. He got worried and immediately took her in one of college dispensary..

"virat I need to talk to you" manvi asked with pleading eyes but virat looked away from her then again looked at her

"not now manvi we can talk later, you need rest right now" he replied denying her request or pleadings.

"virat plz listen to me for once" she pleaded again but virat was reluctant to not to listen anything from her. he told something to Raina and left with Rohan leaving a hurt manvi behind. He knew what she wanted to talk to him but he wasn't ready to listen anything yet coz he feared that he may loose his anger and burst upon her which he never wanted to. He loves her deeply and hurting her was something like killing himself that's why he was ignoring her in these days or talk less with her...

After college ended virat immediately took manvi her home. The whole way during journey to her home they kept silent. Several emotions were running through their hearts, they wanted to talk, they wanted to sort out things between them but they were unable to found words. Manvi wanted her best friend back who used to pull her legs and tease her on stupid things. She was missing his old friend in virat. His confession had ruined everything between them. On the other hand virat too wanted to talk her openly like the way he used to but now things had changed between them. It's not like that he was angry on her or want any explanation about her rejection. The thing which he wanted to ask is there any problem with her? Is she hiding something from him? So many question but only manvi know the answers of these questions..

"ok aunty gtg now plz take care of her and if you need anything call me without any hesitation" virat told padmini in calm expression and behaved like nothing happened. Padmini looked at virat worriedly coz for the first time he called her aunty but he always used to call her girlfriend no matter what happen. Then what happen today that he is calling her aunty. Padmini looked at manvi who was staring at virat with hurt expression. She sensed something wrong between them and this made her worried

"virat atleast have a cup of tea with me plz" she pleaded and hope that he will agree but seem like things are not good

"no aunty some another day. Right now I have an important work to do" he lied fidgeting with his fingers. Then he looked over manvi who laid on bed and staring at him "take care of yourself" manvi nodded in response and virat left from there after bidding goodbye to padmini. Padmini looked over at manvi to ask something but stopped herself when she saw her looking down with sad and hurt expression. She sensed that something is wrong with her daughter coz her behavior has been changed from last few days and now virat also behaving weirdly. She was worried for both of them now and thought to talk Raina about the matter..

Doesn't matter how bad you are, or how strong you are, when it comes to love we are weaker and we all fall. Manvi knew that she had hurt virat's feeling but it's better to hurt someone for once instead of hurting them again n again so according to her pov she had took a right decision. Virat may be hurt now but when time will pass he will forget everything and will move on. But does he really move on? This one question was worrying her the most coz she saw immense and eternal love in his eyes for her that it's impossible for him to forget her and move on...

"manvi beta" manvi's trail of thoughts disturbed by padmini. She looked at her mother with a smile and padmini smiled at her back creasing her hairs lovingly. She knew her daughter is fighting with herself in these days and she can understand her very well and those emotions which she is going through

"mom do you need anything" manvi asked not looking at her mother and pretend to emerging herself in book.

"do you also love him?" her head snapped toward her mother and she looked at her mother with wide eyes. That was something unexpected for her and moreover why she asking? Did she know about virat's proposal

"mom what are you saying? I didn't get it" manvi asked looking at her as if she was unaware what she is talking about

"don't pretend in front of me. You can lie to whole world but not me. Raina told me everything about what happen in new year party. I already knew it that virat has feelings for you but I never react coz I want you to realize it on your own" she said as a matter-of fact. Manvi turned around not able to face her mother. She gulped the lump in her throat and closed her eyes to stop tears which were threatening to fall

"mom he had gone mad. If he loves me it doesn't mean that I would love him back. So please close this topic right now. I have lot more things to do instead of discussing on this stupid matter" she replied with straight and bold face and again emerging herself in books putting her glasses back on her nose. Her mother was stunned hearing her reply. She never knew that manvi can pretend to be a heartless person.

"is it" her mother asked "ok one minute" saying that she marched toward manvi's wardrobe and manvi looked at her in confusion. Her eyes gotten wide in shock when she saw box in her hand. Nobody knew about this except her. padmini came to manvi with that box in her hand. She opened the box and took out those letters which virat had written for her and kept in her books every week. He thought that manvi didn't notice those letters but the fact is that manvi noticed each n every letter and read them thousands of times but never show that

"mom" she whispered in shock and looked at her mother in utter disbelief that how could her mother found out about these letters

"what is this manvi" padmini asked her showing letters "if you don't love him then why are you still keeping these letters with you. Isn't it call love, answer me manvi" padmini demanded for an answer and in return manvi looked down coz she has no answer and her mother caught her. she looked down in embarrassment "you don't need to lower your gaze" her mother said cupping her cheeks "you are lucky that you got a person like virat in your life. Only lucky people get true love in their life"

"but what if when life is too short. When there is no guarantee of life. Then tell me how can I ruin someone's life" tears finally make it's way down her cheeks. This time she didn't hold them back and let her emotions flow through her tears. "tell me mom how can I let him ruin his life when I have no future" saying that she hugged her mother tightly crying her heart out. Padmini stood there motionless rewinding her words. How did she forget the bitter truth. May be she never let effect this truth and always think positive that's why she didn't realized her daughter's condition. Cruel reality is always bitter and it hurt when you realized it. Padmini hugged manvi back but she didn't shed a single tear and put a mask of brave face coz she knew if she get weak then he wouldn't gave her daughter the strength which she needed. She realized that what manvi must have been going through in these days

"God I never ask anything from you but today am pleading from you please give my daughter's happiness back. She deserve to be happy. Please don't play with her please" she requested to god silently and hugged manvi more tightly creasing her hairs and consoling her..

Some days later

Few days passed again and manvi still able to hold her emotions and put a strong mask on her face like nothing effect her but deep down her heart ached and sometime she felt like pouring all her emotions in front of virat but she couldn't as she decided that she wouldn't ruin his life and she was determined on her decision..

Today manvi didn't go to college and this made virat upset coz now a days is only living seeing her face and when he didn't see her his heart didn't get any peace. On the way back to class he met Raina

"umm Raina did you see manvi" virat asked raina stopping her in her track

"you don't know. Actually she is on leave today. I called her and aunty told me that she is little bit sick that's why she didn't come" raina replied with solemn expression. Virat nodded and raina left for her class as she was running late

"she is sick but she didn't tell me" he told himself. He was worried for her now and feeling restless too. He fished his pocket and take out his cell and immediately dialed manvi's number but to his disappointment she didn't received his call. He tried again n again but same response so at the end he dialed padmini's number and to his relief she received his call after few rings

"hello boyfriend" she greeted with wide smile

"girlfriend how are you and how is manvi" he asked hurriedly coz he wanted to know about manvi asap. Padmini chuckle at his behavior

"virat relax she is fine and I am fine too. Actually I came out for some grocery shopping and it will take an hour so will talk to you later"

"oh it's ok bye take care" saying that he hung up but he was still restless thinking about manvi and he has reason to worry about her. first padmini is not at home and second manvi is sick and third she is not attending any of his call so it's obvious for him to get worry..

Not feeling peace virat decided to check on manvi so he bunked all his classes and now stood in front of manvi's house. He rang the bell several times and even knocked on the door but now response which added more worry and restlessness in him. So finally having no other option he took out the spare key of her house which padmini gave him and told him he can come here whenever he needed. So he unlocked the door and entered in. no one was there in hall so he directly rushed upstairs toward manvi's room and barged in.

And as he barged in her room floor slipped beneath his feet and he felt like someone pulled his heart out with sharp knife. Manvi was on laying on floor in the most devastated condition. Her hands clutching her stomach and she was coughing blood. Virat stood there motionless and his mind went numb. He felt a jolt of pain and shiver in his body and with a swift motion he rushed to manvi

"manvi" he hold her in his arms and rested her head in his lap. He didn't know what is happening with her. her clothes were drenched in blood due to continue coughing and her body was shivering badly.

"vi..vir..viraat" she called him breathing heavily and clutched his arms tightly. Virat shokk his head and hugged him tightly with tears flowing out from his eyes continuously.

"main tumhe kuch nai hone dunga. I wouldn't let anything happen to you I promise" he assured her hugging her tightly and creasing her hairs "nothing would happen" he again whispered and seems like he was assuring himself more than her

City hospital

Virat stood outside of the icu from last two hours and waiting for doctor to come out. Padmini was sitting on the couch motionless and tears were continuously pouring out from her eyes. She never cried the way she was crying now. She always put strong mask on her face but today she was broken completely when she saw manvi in this condition.

On the other hand virat was walking back and forth continuously and waiting for doctor. He was restless and his mind was right now. He didn't know what happen to manvi and images of her devastated condition when he barged in her room was flashing one by one in front of his eyes. Soon doctor came out and he immediately rushed toward doctor in panic and padmini also followed him

"doctor what happen to manvi? Is she alright and why was she coughing blood" virat asked in just one breath holding doctor from his shoulder

"don't you know that she has blood cancer" as doctor said those words virat's whole body trembled and he felt a thunderbolt hit his body. His hands left doctor's shoulder and he stepped back

"don't you know that she has cancer"

He stepped back and shook his head in know. Doctor's words were ringing in his brain like a train bell and he was not able to accept the truth which he heard now. He felt jolt of pain in his heart and felt his head lightened. He could feel the whole hospital spinning around him. People's were coming and going but he still stood on the same spot trying to digest this bitter truth. It was the most worst pain which he felt in him and now what? What will he do?
