Do women in Indian dress and look like Purvi? I know that any woman who spent 20 years in the west would NEVER look like Purvi. That's something I cannot understand - keeping the character with ONE look throughout an entire show...Purvi looks like a housewife NOT a businesswoman and one who is a top international CEO...
Am I alone in thinking this way?

i totally agree.. but i think dresses are a women's personal choice.. and if purvi likes dressing this way.. she has a right to wear what she wants...

LOL NO!! No actress has a personal choice in what she wears!! Not a single dress is of actresses. It is provided by the costume department of the PH

@TM: Its not necessary for an Indian professional woman in the West to always wear business suits and skirts. My senior friend who has lived in US for more than 30 yrs works as a CPA in a big company and she always wears saris to work, to this day! She never changed her dressing habits in all these years! And people in the west appreciate it if you are proud of ur own culture and heritage and wear your ethnic dress.

As for Purvi, it would be alright to show her as a businesswoman wearing really elegant saris but PH is only giving her those 3 horrible saris to wear repeatedly, the orange/black polka dot, the red/ blue sari and the ugliest one, green and purple!
They are doing this deliberately to make her look drab and shabby because actually she looks too young and pretty! When she performs as Purvi in other Zee shows, Asha wears lovely saris and outfits! So its obviously Balaji which is making her wear those ugly saris on purpose!

i think your friend is a rarity and not a norm. additionally, you have a point, that if she is going to wear a saree, then at least one that is professional and worn professionally.
