Seems all are expecting a Jalal prostrate for Jodha when she does her act of poison drinking.
Well I for one am highly skeptical. To me today's dialogue from Jalal seems to be an indication that the man may keep his distance - I really hope he does infact.

And why do I say this?

Well the Answer comes from Jodha's Rasoi!!! She has been spouting Kartavya, vachan, patni-dharm blah blah blah all over the palace especially to her Shahenshah, where all these vachans were of paramount importance to her, since she made them to her Maasa, Bapusa, her Amer, Saasuma and all sundry others (wonder what happened to the vachans she made to her Pati - oh forgot even those she made for her Bhaisa and her Amer).

With her act of poison drinking, she will hammer the final nail in the Farz coffin in which she will bury Jalal - The man and the Emperor will now really really believe that he is nothing more than a Duty. Why would I then expect him to not keep his distance???

Infact Jodha needs this distance that Jalal should maintain to realise what she really and truly wants and then break the glass of Duty that she herself has put up. If we want to see a love story it has to be with Jodha making her Shahenshah understand that there was no Duty involved at all - It was all about Love - a deep, burning and passionate Love - warna it is better that the man keeps his distance.

And by drinking that vish ka pyaala she does not proove any Love - she only reiterates Kartavya.

Interesting take- and I am pretty sure Jodha will tell it was her kartavya and chinta. However, I would say Jalal is in the same boat- when he saved Jodha from her suicide he said he was doing his duty as an emperor and saving the empire from shame and when he saved Jodha in the fake pregnancy track he also said do not think I did this because I love for you.
If both are distant from each other, in the shell of excuses, how will the love story ever start? One of them has to get out of their shell and I think it will be Jalal as he went a bit too far in hurting. Jodha. However, I do hope he is Teda in his ways of getting out from Jodha that she did it out of love 😊

And I am not one of the ones who wants Jalal to prostrate at her feet. I don't want either to be distant from each other. However, since Jodha saves his life, I would not mind if he took the first step to the break the ice again.

My dear Adiana,

You are exactly like the child in The Emperor's New Clothes that saw the very uncomfortable truth, and announced it to the world at large.

Here, you loudly announce, to the alarm and dismay of most, that there is an 800 pound gorilla in the room. Here it is Jodha's persistent, ego-driven pretence that she is doing all this for her patnidharma.

You are dead right when you say that for any kind of love story, this sham will have to be dispensed with, and by Jodha, openly and unashamedly to Jalal himself.

His last words to her today were like a child yelling at its mother I hate you! I wish you were dead! The words mean nothing. Only the anger and the hurt behind them mean a lot. And there is a lot of both.

Jodha will have to neutralise that hurt, and since Jalal might very well interpret her protecting him as an act of duty, things can be cleared up between them only if she comes clean on her real motives.

Bitter but VERY TRUE.

Jodha says one thing but means another. So if she says Kartavya it means Pyar.
While we will go back and forth dissecting her dictionary as she unleashes new terminology each day , our Jalaal is beginning to understand that and hence is highly puzzled about the shove.

Anu, this trait of Jodha's is contagious, it seems. We will, methinks, now need TWO dictionaries.

Today, at the very end of that Restore Jodha Begum's Hoojra operation, there was a faint dawning hope in Jodha's eyes as she listened to Moti telling her that she is sad because though she has got her rooms back, Shehanshah is kaksh mein ab kabhi nahin aayenge... tumhein unka apnapan nahin milega (a strange comment even for a sakhi to make, and all the more depressing in the flat voice of hers, devoid of any nuances).

It was the hope that Jalal really does not mean what he says but, as he accuses her of doing, means the opposite. When he says that he gives her no ahemiyat. When he says that the very sight of her disgusts him now. When he says that he will not turn back and look at her even if she was no more.

After all, she can see that his getting her rooms back to her has nothing to do with the ostensible reason he advances, preserving the zubaan he gave her regarding her freedom to practice her religion. She can worship her Kanha just as well in another hoojra.

No, he gets her back to her old rooms because he cannot bear that catch in her voice as she talks, with angry resignation, of her request that the diya be left to burn itself out was refused. Nor can he bear it that she should think him capable of such petty meanness.

Jodha, despite longstanding evidence to the contrary, is not a fool, and she can see all this and interpret it too.

What he says at the very end is like a child yelling at its mother I hate you! I wish you were dead! The words mean nothing. Only the anger and the hurt behind them mean a lot. And there is a lot of both. I do not think Jodha took them at all seriously".

If so will he go check or her? If not is this the creative way of making them use the same Hojra for a short while by him taking her to his chamber?

Well It seems Jodha will repeat TE's words before she drinks the poisoned drink and there are several interpretations flying around of the after save scenario - primary is of Jodha's humiliations.

I am back to ask, 'What humiliations????' When TE made Benazir sit with him in DEK, where Jodha stood up on her own - She brought the humiliation on herself - When Salima was the next in the order of seniority it was in bad taste and she got what she deserved there - I am srry if ppl do not agree with this POV but then it is mine. After this TE asking her to leave was in my opinion a favor to her since she had already made a humiliation of herself. He got her out of the place so that she need not be a butt of unkind chatter - She could not have left the DEK without the Emperor's permission and he took the bad name on himself - Seeming to be cruel when actually being kind!!! - There was no public humiliation in any of this from TE - It was Jodha's own actions that brought it on her!!! Especially when she knw he was totally upset over 'The Shove' and her accusation of 'SKL' the next day!!! Apni bewakoofi ka jurmana khud bhara Jodha ne.

Next is the Meena Bazaar - Why shd anyone be upset if Benazir gets the title of Kohinoor and the stone and how would it classify as an insult to Jodha? If one talks of TE insulting her by not looking at her offering - pls note the condescending tone that Jodha used - why would an Emperor tolerate condescension from anyone including his wife? And as for the gift - It was in total bad taste - here is a wife who says that I will not give you conjugal rights but I will wish that you get a child from any other wife of yours - then why shd anyone feel bad for such a wife if the husband prefers someone else???

Next was the DEK where Benazir came after the stoning - TE infact ensured that Jodha does not face humiliation from Ruqu by interrupting Ruqu and turning Ruqu's Biwi into Begum - Pls note once more Jodha's public humiliation was diffused by the Emperor.

Last was the hojra issue and the statement 'I will not see you even if you are dying' - Tell me why would anyone want to see a person who thinks so less of them the way Jodha did of TE? Why would any man want to be humiliated the way Jodha does Jalal - With no proof she accuses that her room change is under his knowing - Jodha can accuse TE with no proof and say what she wants but if TE says anything to Jodha's claims after they have been stonewalled due to lack of proof, he is humiliating her???? Wah feminism Wah!!!

And coming to the after save scenario - why would TE grovel and prostrate himself before her??? - Jodha has claimed that all she is doing is out of a sense of duty - well every citizen has a duty to protect the Emperor, toh Jodha ne kya mahaan kaam kar diya??? And she has continuously claimed that all this is a duty for her and a promise that she has to keep - Why would TE feel that he is anything more than a duty to her??? I dont think there shd even be guilt since he did make the effort to find proof against Benazir but was stonewalled as there was no proof - let us not talk of the Agra spy catchers since that is totally a Cv creation - I would expect TE to express thanks to Jodha for saving his life and hence proving her loyalty to the Emperor and Empire. I do not expect a public apology as there is nothing to apologise about - he cannot believe anyone without enough proof - but TE will be gracious enuff to apologise for 'Putting Jodha's Life in Danger' unlike Jodha who still has not apologised for the same mistake.

As for the private part - I expect TE to thank her once again but follow it up by saying that he would keep his distance since he definitely does not want to be anyone's duty.

It is for Jodha to now break the ice and tell her husband that he is not a duty - that is if she herself understands this - which I do not see happening anytime soon soul talk or no soul talk!!!
