CHAPTER-27.

Shlok strode upto the doctor,his heart nearly bursting out with worry,and an unknown fear..

"Doctor is she..?"Rahul ran upto the doctor first..

The doctor looked up with an unreadable expression..Shlok was still walking towards him..

THUD!THUD!THUD!

His heart beating was loud and clear to his ears,as he tried his best to hear the doctor..Above the loud beating of his heart,above the plea to God his mind screamed..

Slowly he walked upto the doctor,just in time to hear him say,

"I'm really..sorry-.."

NOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Someone screamed out loud from within Shlok..He suddenly felt everything blurring from infront of his eyes,every voice faded into oblivion,as his heart twisted and squeezed with intense excruciating pain..Shlok felt everything vanish from in front of him..

She could not leave him too..!No!!!She just could not leave him too..!!!

He had stopped breathing for a few seconds,his brain suffocating with the reality of what he had just heard..His Astha..His Astha..He could not feel anything had happened to her..His mind and body rejected it completely,while someone within him urged him to accept the reality..

He had to reach her..And call her back.. To him..!She could not leave him..Not now..Not ever..

Like a blind and traumatized man he staggered into the bedroom,closing and locking the door behind him..His knees almost collapsing with the burden of heart wrenching pain..

Like a drugged man,he staggered upto her..Afraid to look,and more afraid not to see her..

Her serene pale face,squeezed at his heart even more painfully..Slowly he sat beside her,and looked down at her pale still form..

She looked so serene and innocent even now..Her long lashes creating shadows on her cheek..He let in a ragged breath,as he rose shaking fears to touch her face..

One more time to feel her..

"Astha.."He called out softly,not able to touch her yet..Unable to look away,unable to blink..

"A-..Astha.."He called out in a raspy tear choked voice again,but no response came..

He could not believe she had left him too..She could not leave him,when he had so much to tell her..

He had to tell her how much he..

"Astha..Please..Please look at me..I need to tell you something.."He choked out in a broken voice again..

She was so still,and so small that he wanted to take her in his embrace and protect her all his life..Cherish her..She just could not..

He swallowed a large lump of unsaid emotion,that were blocking his throat.

"Astha..See..I am here..And I want to..Want to..-.."A loud sodb escaped his lips as he suddenly pulled her into his arms,and started weeping his heart out..

"Don't..Don't leave me Astha!Please don't leave me like this!I can't live without you!Please don't leave me!"He sobbed out,squeezing her limp body tightly to his..

"I cannot stay without you Astha!Please come back to me!Do you..Do you remember how those guys treated you that night?!In that party..?!I'll kill them for you..!I promise I'll kill them to death..!But please come back to me!Please!"He squeezed her body closer,and tighter,as his sobs echoed in the large dimly lit bedroom..

"I..I love you Astha.Please come to me!I have so much to tell you..!So much to..!"

Suddenly he loosened his grip on her,when he felt a slight movement..

"Astha..?!"

"Who howling..?!Aching..Ear hurting.."She mumbled drowsily,with a frown on her face and her eyes still closed.

SHE IS ALIVE!!!Shlok felt as if someone had just blown life into him..!But that doctor had said..

FLASHBACK:

Rohan walked upto the doctor..

"Doctor is she..?"

The doctor looked up with an unreadable expression..Shlok was still walking towards him..

Shlok could barely hear anything due to his thudding heart..

The doctor was saying,

"I'm really..sorry-.."

And Shlok had stopped registering the rest of the doctor's words,which now his trauma free mind flashbacked..

"I'm really sorry for taking such a long time..Actually wanted to ensure if she was free of complications..After all her being Mr. Agnihotri's fiance I did not want to take any chance.."The doctor went on..

Shlok had almost reached the bedroom door now..

"She was drugged by sleeping pills,and so she would be sleeping for sometime now..And if awakened she might still be dizzy as an after effect of the drug,but I have given her medicines..She'll be fine by morning I hope.. "

End of flashback...

Shlok wiped his face clean of the tears..Now completely embarrassed at his uncharacteristic emotional attitude..

He quickly got up ready to leave the room,when a soft hand pulled at his arm..

"Shlok.."Astha mumbled in a soft husky voice..

When she slowly turned to look down at her,his heart nearly stopped at the mesmeriizng smile she bestowed him with..

"I missed you shooo much!"She pouted her lips childishly nearly making him choke."Come closer to me.."She pulled at his arm so strongly,that he lost his balance and tumbled on top of her,on the large four poster bed..
