Here is another cliched scenario:

Pia drugged Bani, took compromising pictures of her with Sahil or Tarun (at this point not clear), and has threatened to make a news splash unless dear BIL pays up. The price is giving up Bani.

Jai knows Bai will be devastated not just with the public humiliation but that a second betrayal from her sister will just about do her in. He is paying big time.

The path to hell is littered with good intentions and they are both there, together in their misery if not in their mansion.

Using the chess analogy from another thread, he will be her knight after the leap, albeit a secret one and we will all fall in love with them all over again 😉 . They've both lost everything. There is no way but up from here.
