Chapter 17 :

In ETF office all were listening to the kidnappers discussion on their next morning plan. When they finished and talking about ordering dinner and brought some medicines, Arjun disconnected the phone.

Roshni : Yeh kya kia?

Arjun : Aab kuch aur sunne ko nahi hain agar un logon ko pata chala ke hum sabkuch sunlia toh they could've change their plan.

Rathod : Rawte's right Rosh, we can't take that risk.

Aisha : toh aab kya kare, we don't know their location.

Saakshi : But they r talking about ordering dinner, toh they may be staying in a ...

Aisha: A lodge!

Riya : Or in a hotel..

Aisha : I'll check the lodges...

Rathod : Wait? There more than thousands lodges in this city, you can't complete till morning. Shree, how about those footages?

Shree : they didn't walk away through that road, or no report of vehicle stealing or hijacking is reported till now...I think they took a public transport, like auto or taxi.

Arjun : Then check every...

Shree : Chotu already left to do it, he must be coming back with some positive result.

Aisha : And if we're lucky enough, he could give us that lodge's name.

Arjun : Rathod, I've already talked to bank, they'll arrange the cash by tomorrow morning, how about that Lala and file?

Rathod : I've talked to commissioner sir, he said he'll try.

Arjun : Try? Rathod!!

Rathod : I know, we all are worried for him Rawte, have patience.

A junior officer cam and informed about the commissioner and minister's arrival.

Rathod : They come here? Ok bring them in.

The minister walked in the conference room with the commissioner.

All : Good evening, Sir.

The minister moved his gaze on everyone and nodded.

Com. : Gentlemen, we're her to inform you that we are not going to agree with those kidnapper' s demand.

Rathod : How sir, they have a baby, & he's ACP Rawte's son. We just can't let them..

Com. : I know, & we won't but we can't fulfill their illogical demands? Lala and that top secret file? In exchange of a child's life? Don't you think it's too costly.

Arjun : family is the most precious thing in the world sir.

Com. : And you took oath to protect your country first. If today we agree to them, tomorrow they'll destroy our people, and we can't risk millions for a baby.

Rathod : how can you say it sir, we are here to protect people and today on of our family is on stake. If w can't protect our family, then how people gonna believe in us? Is it good for our image?

Minister : I understand. But it's just a child, and if I release Lala and that file, it'll be a big threat to our national security. I can't do that for such a trivial kidnapping case. ACP Rawte, I'm sorry for your child, but I can't help you.

Roshni : Can't help us? How can you say it? It's just not about a child Mr. minister. It's about my son!! Do you have any idea how it feels when you can feel your child is in danger and you can't save him, do you have any idea of it?

Minister : look Mrs. Rawte, I can understand your feelings now. trust me, even I have children, but I really can't help you.

Roshni : You don't understand my condition ,Minister and I pray you never have to go through this.

The Minister looked into Roshni's eyes for a long moment.

Rathod : Sir we just need Lala and that file to lure them, once they came forward for exchange, we'll nab them and then Lala and that file would be reached to their rightful places.

Com. : I know Rathod, but...

Ministr : I'm going to pass the order of transfer Lala to ETF's custody. He'll be here tomorrow around 10. Am. But I want him back in the jail till 5.00pm. Is it clear?

All : Yes sir.

The minister left without looking anywhere.

Com. : Rathod, we can't handle that file to ETF. You people don't have security clearance for that high profile thing.

Rathod : But sir..

Com. : I know, But if you want to take a risk, I can help you to make a fake one. Unofficially of course.

Aisha : But if they found out it's fake?

Com. : I said if you want to take that risk, because bringing the original one is next to impossible. Try to handover the file at last, if possible after bringing Rawte's son back to your when they were in hurry of making off and don't check the file properly.

Rathod : Ok sir,( looked to Arjun and Arjun nodded) We'll take that chance.

Com. : Ok then, Shree come to my place tonight for dinner. I'll be waiting for you.

After finishing the meal, Goga belched loudly.

Billu : Making this type of sound is ill-manner, didn't anyone told you Goga?

Goga : What ill-manner? People do this after they have something good in meal.

Jasmine : this food was good?

Goga : (belched again) I love all foods when I'm hungry.

Jasmine made a face and got up. She prepared milk for Addu and gave that bottle into his hands. God, this little thing eats so much!!

Billu : don't think about the foot. At least we didn't have to go outside for dinner.

Jasmine : Haan,tum dono ke liye bohot jyada mushkil ho jaata. Medicine lelo aur so jao.

Billu : Haan, kal jaldhi likalna hain. Jasmine, baccha ka khana ho jaye toh chali jaana.

Jasmine was staring at a spider sitting on the wall. Billu followed her gaze at saw it.

Billu : It's a spider.

Jasmine : I hate it. It looks Yuk!!

Goga looked at the spider but he found nothing contempting about it. It looks good. Like a flower.

Billu throw one of his shoes to it, but he missed and the spider moved to the window.

Goga : Thank god you missed it. Makdi ko lag jaati toh paap hota.

Jasmine : Paap? Insaan ka baccha kidnap karr lia tab paap nahi hua?

Goga : that's business. Businss main paap- punya thori hain?

Jasmine : Oh!! Accha.

She lit a cigar and started smoking.

Goga : Can I have one?

Jasmine : You smoke?

Goga : Haan ,when I'm tensed. Plz ek do...

Jasmine passed him a cigar and offer him lighter. Goga refused and brought out a matchbox.

Jasmine : Matchbox?

Goga : I'm comfortable with it.

Jasmine shrugged, Goga lit his cigar and laid beside addu, keeping his head on headrest.

Billu : Jasmine, you go and get some sleep.

Jasmine : I don't think I can sleep tonight..

Billu passed her a bottle of sleeping pill.

Billu : I've bought sleeping pills also. Have one. it'll help. It's important for us to be fresh at the morning.

Jasmine was looking closely that bottle.

Jasmine : Kaafi strong doses hain.

Billu : Haan, one is enough for overnight. If anyone have more than 10, he must be hospitalized.

I was looking at that bottle in Jasmine's hand. If I could get some of them and put some into anyone's morning tea, it would be great. But how? I was thinking of what to do, when I heard a sound. As if someone was playing a flute. I tried to see the source of that sound, when I heard Jasmine giggling.

Jasmine ; Look this Goga, he fell asleep so quickly!

Billu : Haan, iss Goga kii aadat hain ,kahin vi, kaise vi so sakta hain.

I looked at this sleeping form. And the smell of that cigar!! Yuk!! Specially this Goga was lying beside me. He placed his hand beside me in a manner that if h moves a bit this cigar could touch me. If mom was around she must've beheaded this man for smoking. I looked at that burning cigar. I can take it from him and throw it away! I should give it a try.

So I flipped and took that cigar from his hand, but when I was about to throw it, an idea popped out,: If I'm going to throw it, why don't I throw it on him! It would be fun, when he'll jump like a big frog.

So I threw it on his chest. And waited for that man to jump, but h didn't. I must've missed it or his sleep is too deep.

The cigar Addu threw on Goga was dropped on his chest and rolled down to his pocket where he kept his matchbox. So when Addu was almost dishearten about that cigar, a big flame shoot up from Goga's chest.

Goga felt a burning sensation on his chest and when h opened his eyes he saw flame on his chest, he panicked and started screaming and jumping like a maniac. He slapped on his chest but it didn't help, and he started running around the room, he stumbled and fell down for several times which worsen his leg's condition. Jasmine and Billu also ran after him and tried to compose him. Finally Billu succeeded to tar his shirt and Jasmine poured water on it to extinguish the fire.

But the after scene was horrible. The shirt was burnt, a remarkable place on Goga's chest was burnt. And there as a terrible smell of burnt cloth, skin and hair. Addu felt like pucking in this air.

But the whole incident made everyone conscious staying in the lodge. So a number of people gathered outside their room. The lodge manager knocked the door, impatiently.

Jasmine opened the door slightly and peeped out.

Lodge manager : What happened here? we heard someone is screaming.

Jasmine : Nothing, he was scared of cockroaches, saw one and started screaming.

Lodge manager : Cokcroach? Yeh vi koi darnewali cheez hain?

Jasmine : ( grinned sheepishly)Aab darr ka kya karr sakte hain, darr to darr hain, kisi vi cheez se lag sakta hain.

Lodge manager ; And this burning smell?

Jasmine : He was smoking, cigar fell on head and some hair was burnt.

It couldn't be told how much those people believed on Jasmine's story, but all started leaving talking among them.

Jasmine locked the door and looked at Goga with red eyes.

Jasmine : What happened?

Goga : (scary voice)fire...aag lagi thi..seene main...

Jasmine : Haan, dikh raha hain. Aaj tak sirf movies main suna tha , aaj dekh vi lia!! Yeh hua kaise?

Goga : Maybe the cigar fell down when I fell asleep...

Billu : (disappointed) Only 100% pure idiots can fell asleep while smoking.

Goga : (whinnying) I didn't sleep knowingly. I didn't know when I fell asleep. Tension main hota hoon toh jyada neend aata hain...

Jasmine : Maine kavi nahi suna tension main kisiko nend aata hain.

Billu : Drop it Jasmine. Jiska jaisa mechanism hain!!

Goga took his shirt from the ground. It has a big hole in the place of pocket, and the fabric is burnt in some places, moreover, Billu tore it almost into two parts.

Goga : (almost in tears) My shirt!! I didn't even brought another one. Main kal bahar kaise jaunga?

Billu : Kal ka kal dekhnge,aab so ja, Jasmine.

Jasmine took Addu with her and Addu's bag.

Goga : Dil ke paas jalan ho raha hain...uff..

Jasmine : (made a face) Kya filmy dialogue hain!!

Goga : Really, I think blisters a jayega.

Billu : Iss waqt kuck nahi karr sakta...let's see what can we do at the morning.

I know it is a short on, but could write this much. Let m know how it was and plz give me some ideas to keep this three in a room. I'm out of ideas now.
