i like everything just having a difficult time finding j-dramas on viki and that is one of the few apps i know that carries kdramas (dramafever is sucky on my phone and has more j-dramas but then again not a lot) but also watch Taiwanese dramas as well so i wouldn't say i love Korean dramas more, its just easily accessible compared to most dramas on viki

For a while there a year ago, Thai dramas took over K dramas for me b/c I had just discovered Thai dramas, and had gone on a race to watch all the revenge/slap dramas that I had missed which are my guilty pleasure..So, after watching all the classic Thai dramas like Sawan Biang and lots of others..Korean dramas took the front seat again

As, najia pointed out hard to get J dramas on Viki..But, in terms of escaping from reality Korean dramas are the best while J dramas depict more of reality and truth in them..So, yes many J dramas are excellent, but sometimes I need to prepare myself to watch a J drama b/c they really drain you and make you think things over in my life..😆

But, honestly Korean dramas just get the extra points b/c they are all so unrealistic that it is a huge stress reliever for me..So, I take K dramas over any other Asian dramas any day..

I love K dramas and K pop more than anything. Its because I find Korean pronunciation very fascinating and easy to pick up. I have watched couple of J dramas and Tai dramas but I cant connect to them. No offense!
Its like I love EXO but I prefer their Korean version song than chinese/mandarin.

sometimes i can watch on laptop but when im home i can't so that is why i really rely on viki more so but other than that i used to go dramacrazy and epdrama but the former closed down and the later i think it has dead links.

Really? I always found J-dramas to be more unrealistic, light-heartened, and comedy driven (but maybe that is the genre of dramas i have watched) but there some J-dramas being realistic sometimes disturbing or too brooding.

Haven't watched Thai dramas but i want to start just not sure where to find any of them😕😕

Yeah, I have watched a lot of unhappy and disturbing Japanese dramas..Take for example I just finished watching Last Friends..Gosh, I thought the hero in Summer Desire was obsessive, but talk about OCD, and extreme abusive relationship..I was drained and spent after watching this one..😡

Nah, I believe K dramas are fantasy..I mean there isn't any drama where I felt this depicted real life..maybe some of the family dramas, but that happens in Indian TV series too. Most of the K dramas are unrealistic so I like to watch them b/c hardly that happens to one in real life. J dramas don't usually have a cold billionaire heroes and the truly depict life lessons and depth. But, K dramas that is what there MO is..lol..I like that since I read lots of YA novels on coldhearted billionaires as well. There has to be a hero who is cold and arrogant..I have no problems w/ that even if they are repetitive, I still watch them.

Thai dramas can be found on here w/ eng sub. But, if you want to watch revenge/slap dramas be ready for rape scenes in them..They are usually like that, and so if you feel averse to it don't watch it..They never really show the rape scene of course, they just show the hero trying to forcefully have a physical relationship w/ her, and it is mostly b/c he thinks she betrayed or cheated on him.

If you are an avid reader, you'll notice that most of these slap/kiss Thai drama are taken from very old Mills and Boons novels. Their heroes remind me of the author Charlotte Lamb's old Harlequin romance. SInce, I have read most of hers, I don't really have a dislike to those kind of scenes. Of course, I wish that not to happen to anyone in real life. But, since it is a drama and the heroine does make the hero grovel, it is okay. But, the newer Thai dramas have fewer of these kind of dramas. The other ones don't interest me that much. And, I had always wished to see those old Mills and Boons novels turn into films/dramas, and Thai dramas provide that to me.
