Yes, and he took a plane across the mountains and got ot Paurav Rashtra just in time for Rakshabandhan!😆

The story I heard as a little girl was that she was there in Takshashila with Alexander, and she sneaked across the Jhelum to Porus' palace and tied the rakhi and told him who she was. He then promised not to harm her husband during the forthcoming battle. That makes much more sense than this Bactria-Paurav Rashtra messenger service.

I too agree that the CVs will not let such a sentimental scene pass unused! But the Sony Roxanne looks hard as nails, not at all the kind to go in for sentimental ceremonies.

Let us see. It will have to be done in person, there is no way she is going back to Bactria now, leaving her Shah within Barsine's reach!😉

Jealous? Not sure that's the word I would use just yet. Roxanne doesn't want to lose her standing in his life. Is she in love with her husband? I think not. She just wants to protect her self-interests and is only concerned that another woman like Barsine, who has all the royal qualities that she does not, will actually win her husband over and become his favorite. Reminds me a bit of the Ruqayya in the Jodha Akbar show.

@luckysnow, you have a good point, that Alexander said he would do something to ensure his control over Faras stays intact. But Roxanne would have known about the marriage, right? Or do you mean the CVs are again playing around with the timelines and will show that Alexander married Barsine before Roxanne? Jeez.

Any raakhi Roxanne ties will be for selfish motives or for political games, nothing to do with her sentiments. She doesn't care about anyone except herself. The real Roxanne was apparently quite interested in learning about Indian customs, so maybe the Sony one will learn about the concept of rakshabandhan (as we saw her picking up a local custom in the pranaam scene) and come up with a plan of her own to tie a rakhi on Porus. I can only see Sony Roxanne doing this to spite Alexander and not because she's concerned about his safety. I also can't see Sony Alexander accepting his wife pleading with his now arch enemy to save his life. Not now, not ever. For he is bound to find out if such a thing occurs. I remember clearly what he said to Olympias after finding out what she did to Arrhidaeus. He didn't want the world to think that he won through deceit and that he himself was not powerful or smart enough to win fair and square. I don't think that spirit of his has changed since.

Olympias doesn't seem interested in going back to Macedonia. She's now just as curious as we are about what her son is up to. 😆 Frankly, even though I hate that the CVs are showing her in Bharat, at this point I would much prefer even a one-minute sequence of hers to any amount of screen time involving either Roxanne or Barsine. 😡

What am I most irritated about right now, though, is the lack of interaction between Hephaestion and Alexander. Yes, a lot of things on this show happen offscreen but please CVs, we want to see how Hephaestion feels and his private conversations with his friend Alexander and not his Shah Alexander. After coming to the ends of the Earth with him, how does Hephaestion assess the current situation?

I think people have some misunderstanding about real Roxana ...she wasn't at all interested in India
Bits from diodorus late adapted as a play:

My teacher told me there are many times people in India than your own empire. They breed like rabbits and they are covered with hair. They are barbarians who live on trees.

Then your teacher is wrong. I want her. I want to conquer her because she is the most beautiful. I know I can't do anything about it. She is calling me like a mother calls a lost child. She lures me like a siren and I grasp at her like a drowning man grasps at the last straw. You don't understand and it is good.

You are sick very sick for you have no knowledge how ugly this mother of yours is.

I know she is magnificent.

It is actually reverse in real ...Roxana is bashful and Alexander is respectful for India ...

I say unto you that the barbarians and dwellers in all these regions are all as stupid and as ignorant as the wild beasts that live in their country.

Another gem from porus ki behan (some say it is from Alexander letter to porus but diodorus wrote it from Roxana point of view which Alexander included in his letter)

After the battle was won in hydespass...her behaviour was very disrespectful toward the Paurvas...she called them wretched souls who don't even have decent clothes...she called porus a maniac who should be always in chains. She drank too much, even Alexander was very much worried about her health as she didn't wake up for a day...

now please tell me how much she was interested in Indian culture😲

Despite Alexander's marriage to Barsine being mainly for political reasons, it can't have gone down too well with Roxanne, though he never lived with Barsine full time like he did with Roxanne as she was sent to Macedonia.

Perhaps the real Roxanne was arrogant about her looks and the fact that she had Alexander's undivided attention. Alexander from most accounts seemed to be more of a one-woman man, at least after he married Roxanne. Though how true this is, who knows? He is said to have prided himself on his ability to control his desires, in general, and did not believe in excessiveness. Neither was he known to be a womanizer, nor did he over-indulge in materialistic pleasures, though he did lavish his friends, family, and even teachers with it.

He was the world conqueror who could do whatever he wanted, but he exercised moderation as he became older and toiled harder each time, in comparison to his friends who became more and more ayyaash. 😉

I am saying that Rakhi story is bullshit...Roxana is like this in every documented record...
