But that wedding was to Barsine and Parypetis, no? Aristotle should have been pleased by that, as both were bonafide princesses of the Achaemenid dynasty!. Especially when compared to the decidedly non-royal Roxanne, whom he considered low class!

poor Aristotle was on run at that time as Olympia was behind him to get his head...shocking thing is that olympias declared them concubines after just four days of marriage and Alexander was forced to leave them after just fifteen days of marriage...
this is the only time I felt Alexander should have man upto his mother...🥱 if he had manned up then history would have been different...Also Roxy had declined to come for the marriage...she was declared as the only wife and empress in macedonian court( court was of only name because it's judge lawyer security everything was olympias)

Speaking of Roxane I found this

The wars of Alexander: an alliterative romance translated chiefly from the Historia Alexandri Magni de preliis. Re-edited from ms. Ashmole 44, in the Bodleian library, Oxford, and ms. D.4.12, in the library of Trinity college, Dublin: by the Rev. Walter W. Skeat.

Bring me the goblet of Bactrian wine king of Macedonia.😆

I know these are dialogues written by historians only. But no smoke without fire.. I think real Roxana made Alexander wash her clothes and utensils also😆

This seems DAMN interesting!!
The idea of having a Killer number 2, if executed properly would bring out the show to the WHOLE NEXT LEVEL!! We INDEED are watching a Historical Suspense Thriller!!
This conclusion can be driven from that DANGEROUS expression of Alexander at the end while sipping his Rooh-Afza that he INDEED is going to play another SHERLOCK!!
After this discussion.. I AM HELL EXCITED FOR THE EPISODE!!
I just can't wait for this mystery to unveil!!

You know, I think you have a point there.

I too think Barsine is NOT doing this to save her family. She is doing this to oblige Alexander for a different reason. If he had asked her to kill Porus, she would not have agreed, but the assignment Alexander has given her must be something her conscience can live with. Spying on Porus, probably.

But what intrigues me the most is your idea of a two layer plan by Alexander. Assassin No.1, really a dummy, Sumer. is He is a fool and he will fail, which Alexander would anticipate, and also be caught.

In the process, attention will be diverted from the real McCoy, Assassin No.2. I don't think it is Hasti. But if it turns out to be the now eternally smiling Kadika - her behaviour is really most unnatural, seeing that Kanishka is in jail for life - I shall have got things right, which is something that happens to me only rarely!😆

I have never watched Game of Thrones - it would be far too violent and depraved for me - but I understand that the plotting and script are superb. I would take Le Carre instead, with his hall of distorting mirrors. He wrote some of the best spy novels of all time.

Finally, while I don't like the idea of Alexander planning such an assassination of his enemy, it is no more than what Chanakya wanted to do to Alexander.

Actually, as I wrote once in my posts, Alexander and Chanakya are two of a kind. What would they not have achieved if Chanakya had been Alexander's ustaad instead of Aristotle!

I've no doubt that the Bring me the Gobelet of Bactrian wine King of Macedonia is completely illusoire, folkloric and a meaningless tale just like that of Roxanne celebrating Raksha Bandhan with Porus 😆 I vehemently refuse to believe it 😆
