No, my dear, he was very stupid. See, very many people might have suffered a for this prank of his, and what happened in the end? The chap had to return Bucephalus.

Apparently it did actually happen in real life. Someone kidnapped Bucephalus and Alexander threatened to burn the nearby cities down until Bucephalus was returned.

Whoever did that had a lot of guts.

Alexander actually went to fight the Battle of the Hydaspes during the rainy season.

Good luck to these guys if they want to shoot those scenes.

I would like to see how they depict Alexander crossing the river in the middle of the night with all his men, horses, and equipment. It was one of the most brilliant moves he'd ever made because Porus did not expect that.

How could he since according to Sony TV version, Porus is in Takshishila 😆😆

Very funny crack!👏

Historically, Alexander had one of his generals march up and down the west bank of the Hydaspes, leading a contingent of his troops, with a solider dressed like Alexander accompanying them, making a lot of noise, for a prolonged period. Initially, Porus was agitated by this, but later stopped paying attention, concluding that these were diversionary tactics and that Alexander was unable to cross..

Meanwhile,Alexander and another, smaller contingent crossed over to an island about 30 miles down the river and round a bend. From that island they waded through the water to the eastern shore, in pouring, blinding rain.

Porus' son, sent to reconnoitre the situation , had to fight with this contingent and was killed. Meanwhile day had dawned, and the main body of Alexander's army crossed the river the same way, and the actual battle began.

One of the best accounts of the battle of the Hydaspes that I have seen is on a respected site dealing with historical matters, Ancient History, which is said to have been reviewed for accuracy, reliability and adherence to academic standards prior to publication, at

Thank you so much for sharing this article!! The makers should stick to these facts to show the Battle of Hydaspes to help end the show on a high but sadly we all know it will not go as planned!

Gosh, I was burnt by the Puru in Faras track, so I'm not going to be surprised if there are ridiculous tracks coming up that have little to do with or even run counter to "real" history.

You know what they say ... about there being a thin line between bravery and stupidity. 😉
