Hola guys!! Everything said and done I will maintain my stand that the story is the hero in any show and if it's not done properly then it can become the villain as well.

The writer have given us several enjoyable scenes in this show prior to the current phase.I really hope that they get back on track soon.I do not deny that Porus is indeed far better than the usual saas bahu dramas on TV.

Speaking of history then almost every historical show on the planet is a historical fiction which has more of fiction than history.But fiction when presented in a proper way can do wonders.For Prithviraj Chauhan,it's golden phase was it's pre leap phase when PRC was a kid and when Rajat Tokas and Mugdha Chapekar were the leads.95% of that entire phase was fictional yet it was during that phase that the show became a hit thanks to the presentation and acting.

Compared to that post leap when they showed actual historical stuff like Sanyogita's swayamvar,Mohd Ghori,etc was a huge borefeast.It was because the leads who replaced RT and MC were massive disappointments.Therefore it's not always history which would impress the audience.

As far as Alexander's importance to the story is concerned then then the first look of the show and the promos were enough to state what Alexander means for the story.He and Puru were always tied together by the CVs for a reason.

Since the show is from Puru's perspective,it was obvious that Alexander who is his mortal enemy would have darker shade coz for Puru he is a villain.

It was the same case with the American show Reign which was based on the life of Mary,Queen of Scots.Queen Elizabeth I was presented as Mary's archrival and she too was shown to be negative to an extent.Though even in that series we were given a glimpse into Elizabeth's feelings.

The problem here is how they dumbed down Alexander and over blackwashed him.Hadh se zyada kuch bhi accha nahi hota.

And I don't think that this entire Faras Yatra and Gladiator track glorified Puru in any way.This track proved to be detrimental for both Puru and Alexander.

Ultimately I am not asking to show Alexander's story in detail coz yes this is a show on Porus.But atleast show what is necessary and try to do justice to the characters.The recent tracks have discredited both the central characters IMO.

I would like to consider that this is a badly written track.I hope the writers do improvise and revive it.

Coz these people had done well initially and if they want then they can do better.

Atlast I would say that show dekho if it makes you happy or entertains you.Treat it like any other show.Do not let it affect your mind in any manner😆

Ugh... I know, Aunty. I feel silly having spent so much time on character analysis. I should have probably used that energy to talk about Shivdutt at length, because he seems to be the only constant on this show. 😕

As for code, I think that's been messed up for both Puru and Alexander of late. Setting fire to his arsenal and ships is an underhanded means of beating Alexander that is not consistent with Puru's earlier speeches of bravery.

Alexander doesn't resort to long speeches; whatever comes out of his mouth is simple but impactful. He managed to turn the tables with just his short address to the people of Faras based on his great understanding of human psychology not just of the Persians and the royal ladies but also what he's learned so far about Puru. Alexander knows that Puru cannot do anything to "save" Barsine from this new trap anymore because it would be contrary to all that he's been preaching about serving one's motherland. Agree with everyone here, that only the Alexander bits were worth watching. He has been put in an unexpected situation because of what the writers are doing to his role - this is already inconsistent with what we've seen of him in earlier episodes. 😡

@Deepika, I agree, the only ray of sunshine was the fact that he was still able to remain calm and calculated despite being put in that comprising position by Puru with the help of Barsine. These were the last shreds of Alexander's character remaining from what was established by the same makers earlier the show.

I would not want to be in Barsine's shoes right now. 😆

That's my biggest problem with the characters right now.

It's their lack of consistency.

Puru was heroic with a heart of gold.Yet he was shrewd and streetsmart to an extent thanks to his Dasyu upbringing.I guess that's the closest they could have come to displaying grey shades in the central protagonist.

Alexander was projected as an ambitious and zealous young man who though ruthless possessed a code of conduct.He craved for his father's approval and he was the one who gave it back to Olympias when she resorted to black magic in Arrhideus's case.

Laachi started off as a feisty Dasyu princess who despite being Puru's closest friend never hesitated to give him a piece of her mind whenever he sought to do anything stupid.She was his conscience in true sense.

Barsine started off as an arrogant princess who had a change of heart after witnessing her father's flaws and due to her friendship with Puru.

Let's compare the characters to their current state -

1.Puru - He has been turned into a total caricature jisko jab man kiya hawa main uda diya aur jab mann kiya Tulsi Virani bana diya.This cheerharan of his character began post his Yuvrajabhishek

2.Alexander : The CVs started his character's cheerharan when they showed him that vision with the Oracle where he killed even his own mother and best friend Hephastion.Then the recent happenings cemented it.

3.Laachi - Doesn't get to do anything except cheerleading for Puru.

4.Barsine - Don't get me started on her.

Like you said Shivdutt is the sole consistent character in this show😆

I have come to the conclusion that the writers of this show are consuming Bhaang while writing the current tracks

@ LawlessLawyer, you are spot on with the before and after!

I am also disappointed with Laachi's character arc because she had the potential to be a strong female role model. Her mother is still a tough cookie though we don't see much of her on the show anymore.

Not bhaang, I think the writers are actually drinking that sickly looking pink/red stuff that in this show refers to alcohol. 😆

@lawless lawyer I agree with u about Prithviraj that it was a frictional show but there supernatural stuff was not shown l ike despite being severely wounded prince still able 2 do supernatural stuff. Moreover Prithvi dont do bhasanbaji of humari Bhartiya yeh , hum bhartiyas vo why coz Prithviraj was not ignorant 2 indian kings mentality. Prithvi took a gud time 2 recover from trauma of his father's death, his helplessness was shown beautifully when he could not save sanjam coz he himself was severely wounded . Prithvi was shown as a human being who take time 2 heal whereas Puru is shown as supernatural person nothing can stop him .

When I first time saw poras's promo I got attracted 2 Puru & Alex both , alex's story still has shades but Puru has no shades at all . On Instagram also people say how 2 glorify Puru they degrading Alexander.

Bitter truth of king poras is , he defended his kingdom from Alexander not Bharat, I m sure they will not show Puru accepting Alexander's condition after final war

Yes poras was legend but atleast show him as human who do take time 2 recover , ab agar some one said Puru will be iron man , to iska MATLAB ye thodi hai , Puru ki body iron ki ho gayi , infact iron 2 get rusted but Puru is Puru. If u remember when Alex enter barsine's tent , an arrow was stuck on his knees , Alex 2 was walking with difficulty but Puru even 8 arrows can't stop him .

Deepika what I actually meant to say was even though the teenage phase of PRC was heavily fictionalised it was interesting to watch only because of the way the script was written and due to Rajat and Mugdha's acting.It were this factors which made PRC a superhit.

Compare that to the post leap phase of PRC when RT and MC left.They did show history of coz but the show had lost its charm coz the new leads were unable to create an impact.

Today people still remember PRC for its pre leap fictional phase instead of its post leap phase where history was shown.

Basically the entire point is that even if something is fictional it can create an impression provided it's written and executed properly in an interesting and believable manner.Fictionalization is not the problem.The problem lies with how the story is written.This is where Porus needs to buckle up and improvise itself.

Lawless lawyer i completely agree with u , but I will my self admit I enjoyed Puru till his fight with Persian warrior , that fight was beautifully picturised , had meaning behind coz Puru had 2 jump in 2 save d honour of his motherland as Persian warrior were insulting Bharat, but his fight with Macedonian fighters was just cut copy paste track .

I would prefer dasyu Puru over Yuvraj Puru coz dasyu Puru don't use 2 do too much of bhasanbaji but he speak then only when it was necessary.

I had some hopes from Puru after becoming Yuvraj like he would had been preparing himself 4 kingship , anubamini arranging excellent tutors 4 Puru who can prepare him 4 others stuffs of kingship but makers stretched Darius track as chewing gum , they dint bother 2 develop their main lead character.

I still have hopes now when Puru will get first dose of reality check in form of shivdutt , he will start improving himself

Yuvraj Puru is where things started to go downhill for him.

I really hope that the writers sort out the mess which they created and bring everything back on track by sending Puru to PR.

Exactly. Me too hope same. I don't want him to go to bacteria, as it is not needed.
