Just got to know this...even i had the same doubt. So ya alex meets barsine first...then she is sent to learn macedonia ways along with her mother and sister. Then alex meets roxanne...falls in love...marries her. Then barsine comes back and he gets married to barsine. Their marriage was more of corporate alliance as compared to alex with roxanne which was a love marriage.
