Update for Tuesday, Nov. 21st 2006
Scene I
Temple
We left off with Pandiyan and Selvi staring at eachother. Pandiyan roars that Viji and Prabha lied about their relationship...had it really been only friendship, why get married? Liars..all of you! Viji and Prabha vehemently deny their relationship was anything other than friendship, and it remains first and foremost that they are friends. They further tell him that he forced them into a marriage by his meddling ways and violent behavior. Pandiyan is not happy. Viji tells him that the wedding took place with her full consent, so get lost. Pandiyan glares at everyone and yells at his wife for good measure. He says that from now on, he has no daughter. He then looks at Selvi and threatens her that he will make her life miserable...she will never know happiness, blah blah. He threatens physical violence, and Niranjan comes to life...he and Pandiyan try to fight, but the police drag Pandiyan away. Shen tells Selvi she will take Prabha and Viji away and look after them. Selvi asks how she can possibly take on Pandiyan. Shen says that she will give her life to protect the 2, asks Viji and Prabha to take ashirvaadham from Selvi, and end scene.
Scene II
Lotus Pad (I haven't watched since last week...did they change houses again?)
Thams in another horrendous sari...think of a ladybug (an ugly looking one)...red with big black circles/dots all over it. She is on her cell phone, presumably with her office. She tells the listener that she will be in asap. GJ comes over to her and tells her she has to come with him. She tells him she cannot as there is an important meeting (versus the usual unimportant meetings everyone else holds) at her office at 10:00. GJ falls at Thams' feet and asks for her blessings. She gets all giggly and tells him her well wishes are always with him no matter what he does. Telling him "All the Best," she heads off and GJ starts writing somthing in the air. Thankfully, the director has the sense to redisplay GJ's backwards spider scrawl to the viewers...it says.."All the best." We are all quaking at GJ's nasty expression.
Scene III
Yoyo's House
Niranjan pulls up to the home and eyes it warily. He walks in and starts calling out for his Amma. Yoyo pops in and there's a staring contest. Yoyo does his usual stupid provoking. Niranjan tells him to call his mother. Yoyo walks over to Niranjan and stares at him close-up and tells Niranjan he is not a servant to respond to Niranjan's orders. Niranjan says it's HIS mother he wants to speak with and that he hasn't come to start a fight. Of course Yoyo cannot let it go, and taunts Niranjan further, saying that his mother wanted all the comforts of the rich (A/C, big house, etc.), and that's why she chose yoyo over niranjan. They start getting physical, and FINALLY, God, RTM, Mahi and Madhu some running. Malar looks on from behind a partition. Niranjan says he has come to talk to his family. God tells yoyo to step aside while they talk. Niranjan invites RTM and co to the house the next day for Ceylon's vaLakaapu (spelling?). RTM actually seems happy and asks after everyone's health. Madhu spouts some nastiness about how suddenly he has remembered his family...three women to look after and neither he nor their father has shown any regard for them. Blah blah. God tells Niranjan to please go, and that his family would definitely be allowed to attend the function. Niranjan leaves.
God then makes some sarcastic remarks about how everyone should go, including Yoyo, and that they should bring back some bangles for God while they're at it. He walks off and RTM does her padapadapada, wondering what God was trying to say, exactly.
Scene IV
GJ's new illicit drug factory
GJ is with Nallathambi. He hands over 50 lakhs to some guy for the factory. Nallathambi shakes GJ's hand to wish him luck. They stroll through the grounds and discuss the sordid details of this new venture. GJ asks what kind of medicine they should manufacture. NT suggests a bird-flu cure. GJ says there is no cure, and NT agrees...huh? GJ says something about how they would be producing something for the good of mankind...most illnesses are carried by mosquitos, but mosquitos cannot be eradicated, etc. Sorry, but I couldn't figure out what they were attempting to say or do. I thought the intent of this business venture was to produce duplicate medicines? How can you duplicate something that doesn't exist? NT asks GJ why Thams isn't there. GJ does his macho man attempt and tells NT that the wife's place is at the home and out slips the fact that he fell at Thams' feet and asked for ashirvaadham. NT is all..."WHAT?" GJ recants and says no...she fell at my feet. GJ tells NT he wants NT to be his advisor indefinitely in exchange for a cut of the profits. NT agrees and leaves. GJ stands there in thought....(hope I didn't leave anything out).
Thodarum....
