| Prachee Shah and Vishwaas Paandya on their wedding day | Actors Prachee Shah and Vishwaas Paandya, who got married recently, chose Mauritius as their honeymoon destination — just like Chetan Hansraj before them.
"I really wanted to spend quality time with (wife) Lavinia, and did not want to be disturbed, so I chose Mauritius," Hansraj had told hitList earlier this year. Seems Prachee and Vishwaas too chose Mauritius for the same reason.
Back from the honeymoon, the couple is glowing. Here are some of their memorable moments… Double celebration
Vishwaas lets us in, "We left on December 11 for Mauritius. The drive from the airport to the hotel was very peaceful and romantic. We checked into Le Meridien, which is located right on the beach in the north. The view from the Hotel lobby was breathtaking. We first encountered the pool and then the beach.
"It was Prachee's birthday on the 12th, so we had a special dinner and a cake —compliments of the hotel," remembers Vishwaas.
"The next few days we spent water-skiing, boating, kayaking and parasailing — the most amazing water sports we could imagine.
We were put into a tube and dragged by speedboat across the sea! It was an awesome experience. The surprising part was that Prachee was game for all this — I thought she would be scared, but she was game for it."
He adds, "The most brilliant experience was the undersea walk. We went about three miles into the sea, where they lowered us to the bed of the ocean (with oxygen helmets), where we walked around for half-an-hour and fed the fish. It was a lifetime experience for us, especially since we were together, holding hands under the sea!" Romance rules
Prachee offers, "When we came back to the hotel, they had a surprise candlelight dinner planned for us, by the beach. Excellent food, wine, live music, the sea, the stars.... What more could we ask for? God had been kind to us; we were beginning to believe we were blessed."
The couple also took time out to go to the waterfront mall and to Sunset Boulevard, to shop for souvenirs. "It was great, because all the taxis were playing Hindi film music. People recognised me from my serials, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Piya Ka Ghar and Rangoli. They kept coming to me for autographs," says Prachee, happily. Salaam Bombay
The director at Le Meridien, San Conhye, became friends with the couple, and insisted on taking them to eat Indian food at a restaurant called Salaam Bombay. The food was mouth-watering; it felt nice to have a home-cooked meal away from home."
"Finally, it was time to end our tour of romance and relaxation and head back home. We may have many more trips in any part of the world in future, but we will never forget our honeymoon," Prachee and Vishwaas say, almost together. Back to work
Prachee has resumed shooting. "I am looking forward to my dance performance in Nagpur, on January 15; Vishwaas will accompany me. In April or May, I may be going for a show to the US. I have also shot two pilot episodes."
The actress is enjoying her sasural; her mother-in-law stays with them. "Life hasn't changed. I am being pampered. Vishwaas makes the first morning cuppa; I hope he continues to do so," she concludes with a laugh. vickey.lalwani@mid-day.com |
