its not the show but reality for some people...whether they show it or not...

This story is I guess made on a true event about a writer called Jyotimala Chowdhury/Devi. Who was a freedom fighter too and her hubby was also a freedom fighter ( Veerendra Kishore Roy Chowdhury) . Soon after they were married she learned about his pahela shaadi and she wanted to leave him. But he locked her in a house. From which the guard helped her to run away. When she was running away in train some mobs attacked her and they took nth from her, but made a huge cut mark on her face. Rumors say that it was her husband who did it. She was pretty and had a nervous break down when she saw her face in the mirror thus turned insane.

Later she was rescued by Indira Gandhi and lived rest of her life in some hospital in Bengal.

I don't know why do people call this show as regressive? Female lead is not going around and trying to win his obsessive husband, nor she would make any compromise with her self respect to be with her psycho husband. If we look around Indian shows, this one is much better, at least they are not glorifying pull-push, breaking bangles and forced romance. We should call it as regressive only if they try to justify all bullshit done by Omkar.

I heard about this from one of my benagli friend first who was doing a research on Swadesi movement . Then read a book based on Jyoimala Devi . It was an old book . So exactly can't remember the writer's name. Jotimala was a bengali writer and was associated with Rabindranath Tagore and Veerendrakishore Roy Chowdhury was a relative of writer Satyajeet Ray. Although no blood connection as SR's grand father was an adopted son of VK's family. . JC was a school inspector and went to Edinburgh University for PhD. But couldn't get the degree as it was about Sri Aravind the leader of Swadesi movement. ...................Rest forgot. 😔 Well both of them were originated from Bangladesh............not sure as I've read this long ago.

When I read Jhalak's post, frantically searched for further info regarding that story, but couldn't find anything.
