Bad move on part of the writers.

Thing is, viewer feedback may help in making Vikram a main character anyway. It's true that a lot of interest in the show is due to Vikram. Its early days yet, maybe Vikram will have a pivotal role in the show. I'll definitely continue watching as long as Vikram is on centre stage and there are Sugni-Vikram encounters.

Laila,
It was clear in the launch video that Aditya is the hero. Not sure if they would change it later on viewer's feedback or something or if the story itself has a twist later on and they didn't reveal it at the launch(?). But I agree Vikram is a much stronger character and all the scenes with his interactions with Sugni are good. Actually all his scenes are good with or without the girl. Its too early to say anything about Aditya's.

As far Sugni's mom and dad, as other's have mentioned, she did not have a choice.

About the show itself, I felt the 1st week are really good, but right in the next week, it started looking similar to prior show(s). I am still sticking with this because of Vikram Thakur's character. This is my 1st show of Varun and he seems good with this character.

Seems like old times😃 Glad to see you again!!! 😃. I missed the launch video so that might explain the confusion. When I first saw the guy Vikram in the promo, I was like, is that guy the lead? He looks a bit old. However, I caught one or two episodes later (I am behind with this show but have caught snippits of it and they happened to be the Sungi-Vikram scenes), I was surprised to like what I saw. Plus the scene where he throws the duppata and it lands on her head...all hinted in that direction that he might be lead.
I agree with you though, I too found the first week good but come the second week I felt the show as going in the direction of most others shows and I was like...yawn. Also, when the new lead male showed up, it seemed to be missing the chemistry that the Vikram and Sungi scenes seemed to give us.
As for Sungni's mother, then it would be good to show that she doesn't find Sungi's father to her liking and that she yearns to be loved like any woman does...are the writers proposing to get her hooked up with Vikram? That would be interesting...and a bit daring on the part of the writers.

I think people on this particular forum are very harsh and im referring to the people who replied to the main post (that does not include everyone). I reckon you can reply in a much gentle and nicer tone.

BTW I think the main post had a point. The show can go down in the future, the pairing may seem odd to people while it may seem perfectly fine to others. We all have our different way of seeing things and i appreciate the person who started this topic because she/he is just sharing what they feel.

Ohh and Aditya is the hero of the show, the mama is not (which is a relief)

Hi Laila,
Here is the video that I had watched of the show launch - http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2953254. Even IF has their own PSH's launch video, which I haven't watched yet.

There you go with your unique pairing! 😆 If Sugni's mother and Vikram pair-up, that will be 1 another a boy-Aunt relationship. Don't believe? Then look at the chart - at http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2969961&PID=56984026&#56984026 .

Agreed!
We have seen many scenes of Vik-Sugni but not that much of Adi-Sugni, only to to be specific. So let us see!

Well Sugni's mum is way younger than her dad. Remember Bedni's become the mistresses of Thakur's so he was already an adult when he hooked up with her while she was 15.

And i don't mind Vikram being the lead's uncle. I thought he was too old for her any way and he is more like a father to her.

I have not seen much of the show but from the little i saw my take is this.
Vikram seems to be someone that Sugni trusts. One episode (the shawl thrown by Vikram which falls on Sugni) gave the appearance tht Sugni may develop feelings of love. Vikram appears to challenge Sugni - to stay true to her dreams - to get out of the bedni trap.
Personally i would not like to see a love story between Vikram and Sugni because he appears to be much older to her. He has a fatherly look and it would not be appropriate for them to be married, Although i acccept that it may be interesting to see a story with an older man and a young girl (but not appealing to me).
I don't think Aditya lacks character. I think Aditya's character carry a lot of old baggage - especailly of hatred for a woman who he sees as taking his father away from his mother - hatred for the whole clan of Bednis because of their way of living. Because of this baggage of hatred - he is not able to live a happy life. I think he needs to be weaned out of that hatred - for that hatred to be changed to understanding. To do that i think Sugni can play a pivotal role. to show him why the bednis are that way, the helpless situation of society forced into that position, show him how bednis also have their dreams, show how badly treated they are even by the thakurs that bed them - show that bednis have feelings, have pride, have dreams. Then perhaps both Aditya and Sugni with the support of Vikram as the fatherly figure giving them moral support and the support of an elder - to change the live of the bednis - to change the live of Sugni - to give them their dreams and return their pride to them. - perhaps it is not possible in real life but perhaps it is possible in screen life.
I think Aditya and Sugni would make a great couple - fiery but great. Vikram is too dull. You note how he just watches - but does not say anything to sway the situation. He goes along with society even though he does not approve of the custum but be nevertheless let things be. While Aditya, i can see passion there - passion to hate and i am sure passion to love . If Aditya decides to take up the cause of the Bednis - i think he would go for it with passion and fight for their rights - i don't see that in Vikram.

The actor playing Vikram seems like a much more seasoned actor than the guy playing the role of Aditya. He does look older but not too old. The number of expressions he showed on his face, when Aditya was shouting at Sugni, were very good. First he looked shocked as to why Aditya is shouting at Sugni. Then, as he slowly understood the reason, he felt bad, both for Aditya, and for Sugni because he knew Sugni was not at fault. Then he looked helpless because he couldn't openly tell Aditya to stop shouting. And he actually looked embarrassed because Sugni kept looking at him for help but he wasn't able to do that. Very good acting by that actor Varun.

Sugni's scenes with Vikram are quite good. They are very intense because both are good actors.

Aditya has just entered the story. We have to wait and see how his scenes with Sugni will be. But I feel they will be the typical hate-turning into-love story shown in many serials. Aditya and Sugni are the lead pair so their scenes will be mostly fighting and romance.

Sugni-Vikram scenes will be much more serious. Does Vikram know that Sugni is the daughter of Jwala Thakur? Will he use that to beat Jwala Thakur? Or will his respect for Sugni stop him from doing that? Will he do sardakai for her to protect her from other thakurs? Will Jwala Thakur prevent that because he hates Vikram?

Vikram's chacha seems creepy. He might create some misunderstanding and make Sugni believe that Vikram wants to do her sardakai, if he knows she is Jwala Thakur's daughter.

I think Sugni-Vikram-Aditya will be caught in a triangle. Just hope Vikram is not made into a total villain.
