Great post! I completely agree with you.

Meher is indeed a refreshing change. There is this perfect balance about her character, without being icy cold/arrogant & overtly emotional. She definitely is a professional & manages to control herself even under pressure. She clearly loves Abeer & is there when he needs her but at the same time, she is not too overdramatic about situations. She gave him coffee (as a form of assurance) but left after that giving him space to deal with his emotions. She may scream at him regarding his immaturity or childishness but doesn't lecture him about it, or expect him to change for her. She is confident about herself & her emotions enough not to give in to Abeer when he begged her about not wanting the divorce one night before, but at the same time, displays vulnerability & sensitivity.

I often wonder about how she could have possibly fallen for Abeer but I think I get it now. No matter what the actual issue was behind their divorce, its obvious they didn't really know each other before marriage. They only saw each other as they were in their relationship together, & not as an individual. Add Abeer's childishness & impulsiveness to the break down of their marriage.

Thank you... How Maher fell for Abeer is a puzzle indeed. I think they did know about their contrasting personalities but didn't understand the complete implication it could have on their marriage. They underestimated their differences and overestimated their ability to handle every situation, as it happens in young love. I have no doubt that Abeers ego and immaturity would have played a great part in breaking the marriage. But at the same time I feel there was something more too that made Mehar completely give up on Abeer. Something major did happen. And of course there is the issue of alimony of 2.5 cr. I just hope CVs handle both these crucial parts of MehBeer falling in love and then separating, convincingly.

I am simply in love with Mehers role !!
It's something rare to watch and the way Asmita is portraying her role is applaudable .
She is perfect , neither over reactive nor insensible and I love the way she is carrying her her strong mask not parading emotions around hero .

She seems more real just like any strong girl in real life .

Thanks for your response and agree completely with everything you said.
@Bold: I love this too.

That's an amazing analysis! Meher is a no nonsense girl and I just love her attitude. Just minding her own business, a rarity in Indian Telly and very practical. Hope she remains the same.

Asmita is doing a great job.

I agree with your post
Meher is a refreshing character, she is confident smart and has self-respect, which is so rare on indian TV

It's nice that for a change the girl is the boss, it's mostly the other way round, the girl is usually a secretary or an assitant

I love the way she dresses, again something different from the usual salwar kameez or anarkali

And lastly she isn't a cry baby, this show hopefully won't have to waste so much money gylcerin like ekta shows and many others as well

Ps Meher is the first girl on TV whom I didn't want to slap, this charcter takes away my frustration from other tv shows

Lovely post !!
Mehar's character has been written beautifully and is totally author-backed. She is what a modern women is and should be ! The subtleness brings about the grace, taking care not to let her look weak, at any point of time. Add to that the tough attitude that is genuine and authoritative but not rude or cold.
I agree that the credit goes to Asmita for portraying it so confidently, doing full justice to the character. She must thank CVs for not making her the run-of-the-mill type tv leads who, who no matter how intelligent, eventually end up looking silly just because of their inconsistent behaviour, lousy decisions and cliche acting.

Totally loving how Asmita and her portrayal of Mehar is a TV lead presented with a head over her shoulders and heart and emotions at right place. Neither overdone, nor underplayed.

Thanks for making this awesome post :))
