Yes yes, the channel's closure was the sole reason behind its going off-air at its peaktime. CGM was really a great combination of good cast+spectacular acting+enthralling plot+awesome storytelling with no excess daily soapish kind of drama just like the preleap days of PB.

Someone mentioned CGM.It was one of the best historicals ever and a historical in true sense👏👏Excellent script and powerful actors.Manish Ji shone as Chanakya and Rushiraj-Ashish did total justice to CGM's character.

One of the best things about that show was after the leap though Durdhara entered CGM's life he did not forget his mission overnight and become a full time majnu for Durdhara.

He remained focussed to his mission and let his personal feelings take a backseat👏

Also the most important relationship in CGM was not between any long lost lovers but between a Guru-Shishya aka Chanakya-CGM.

Durdhara was shown to be the daughter of Dhanananda the Nanda King who was CGM's arch enemy.Durdhara pretended to be a daasi when she met CGM and CGM was attracted to her free spirited personality.She too fell for CGM.Later on CGM realised that she is Dhananand's daughter and they drifted apart.CGM returned to his mission.At first Durdhara didn't understand CGM's sudden change of behaviour but then she came to know about her father's atrocities and supported him in his Akhand Bharat mission.They parted ways on a respectful and cooperative note.Then CGM went to conquer the rest of India with Chanakya.Durdhara decided to support him from Magadh.

But CGM had only begun with his conquests when the channel was cancelled

You absolutely said my words. The best bond in CGM was of guru-shishya which was worth watching million times and only show which was so intelligently executed till the last. And moreover, what was the best part of CGM was that they had showed the feelings of CGM and how he was confused when he was falling in love with Durdhara and I still remember that episode where Chanakya was explaining how his mission was more important to form an AKHAND BHARAT than being lost in the path of understanding his feeling of love . I did love CGM-Durdhara as it was shown in a very natural way.

dethroning of dhanananda was also not shown...

& was there a track where chanakya got captured by dhanananda & a lady helped in him coming out but she had to pay a gruesome price for it .
