The only difference being that Diya as of now doesn't mind 'legalizing' her marriage with Ratan once he is of legal age. Also, unlike Gulaal, she accepts him as her husband.

Although, that might change if Ratan's family plays villain and they make her feel that Ratan deserves someone his age and thus she got to leave him. Than she might start pushing him away with whatever excuse. Would be interesting to see Ratan's stand in that case.

Dont think story will go Gulaal way as in that serial gulaal was already married to kesar's brother and had to marry kesar just to avoid marrying -ve charater, but here ratan is/will be the first man in Diya's life so she would consider ratan as her husband but ratan would be the one who would be reluctant to go ahead with this relationship
