Well, the face of Ekta Kapoor's show Pavitra Rishta, Ankita has been threatening to quit the serial ever since the show took its first leap. However, Ekta always managed to calm her down with lucrative offers... but not this time.
Ankita barging into Ekta Kapoor's office like a union leader' crying out loud that she's a prime time' actress and that she would not accept the 6:30 pm time-slot shift ofPavitra Rishta. But Ekta again managed to cajole her to serenity. But this time the actress has finally gone on to quit the show.
So what's the reason for her exit? It's a known fact that Ankita has Bollywood aspirations, in fact, a lot of B-town biggies have praised her beauty but this time someone has actually offered her a film. Well, it's none other thanYeh Jawaani Hai Deewani director Ayan Mukherjee.
We hear that this young director recently bumped into Ankita at a party only to be left in awe of her charisma. And the next day Ankita received a call from his office.
A source close to Ankita said, "She has auditioned for Ayan but we do not know the details of the film yet."
Good for her. But then what will happen to Pavitra? "She has put down her papers this time for real but will be shooting with the Pavitra team for at least a month after which the producer and the channel will take a call on the fate of this long running show. Ankita's exit might also end the serial," said an industry insider.
We sent a text message to Ankita but she did not revert till the time of filing this article.
Producer Ekta Kapoor too remained unavailable for comment.
