Rekha in Shekhar Kapur's Paani?

If sources are to be believed, Rekha has almost been finalized by Shekhar Kapur to play an important part in his ambitious next, Paani. Rekha was apparently spotted at Yash Raj Films (YRF) in Andheri attending an all important interview with the head honchos of the movie leading to speculations that the veteran actress has been cast in the movie.
Just a few days back reports of Ayesha Kapoor having been confirmed to play the female lead opposite Sushant Singh Rajput made news all over though there has been no official word on the same yet.
If Rekha is indeed a part of the movie as the 'occurred' meeting might imply, it would mark the coming back of Shekhar Kapur and Rekha after almost two long decades.
The two had last collaborated for Shekhar's Time Machine way back in 1992. Rekha was signed on to play lead actor Aamir Khan's mother in the movie. The movie went on floors with great gusto but unfortunately got shelved and has not yet been revived till date.
Paani, meanwhile is believed to be in pre-production stages and shooting for the same is likely to commence from December. Set in 2050, Paani is futuristic movie that will depict a world torn apart by water shortages and thirst being used as a weapon by international corporations to control people.
