I don't also blame Ankita to cover up ^. If this girl doesn't want her new family (sasural) destroyed - can we blame her? Too many lives can/will be destroyed - is that a price that a middle class family is willing to pay?? Too much to lose in my opinion.

Even for Purvi's extramarital sex - Ekta showed Purvi running away. At no point it was shown she was facing the society. She married Onir to hid her premarital sex only. It is another fact that Onir accepted her - but many girls do marry and pass on their child by someone else as their hubby's. This is not new, rather been the theme of many novels. Even married women having affairs outside marriage, passes their child off as hubby's. Ethics are so relative and can be molded to one's need...

I never blamed Savita/Vandu too. What could she have done? Ankita too, loses more by revealing Mansi's rape then getting her married off to Shasank. And telling Shasank the truth - well, that is again too unpredictable - what if Shasank's walks away from marriage - a girl's marriage breaking at this stage in middle class India is still a stigma for the girl only...

But postponing marriage to Shashank, will that not destroy all future prospect that MAnsi might have. Will Shashank's just be able to accept a postponement of marriage, esp. without a solid and believable reason?? Postponing marriages in India isn't easy, esp. if preparation is all complete...what a huge loss money wise. Besides, rumor mill will run wild. As for Raunak's punishment- what can Ankita give him. He is the son of the house, she the DIL that too from a poor family and married NAren - a mental unstable guy for money. What position does Ankita have in her Sasural, except for Naren supporting her? Will Naren support her against his brother on some hearsay of rape of her sister - when there aren't any proofs except some texts?? I thinbk Ankita will then be termed more a blackmailer out to malign the reputation of Sasural and BIL that too right after marriage...

Btw, the rape can still be proven - esp. that there were sexual activities (it is still couple of day within the rape itself). And if sex is first time for Mansi then probably easier. Also, since the sex was probably violent and forced - there will be signs of struggle on her body - Mansi probably fought with Raunaq too...that will also be considered...it might be not be fully conclusive (without the fresh semen), but enough to get the ball rolling...
