This is in response to bitasta's challenge

Goodness

She has good intentions (most of the time) - I have said this many times. Her intentions are usually good, however whatever she tries to do she messes it up.

She tries to help people - Even though the results r not always good, I can give her some credit for this.

She respects her parents and grandparents - This is one thing I fully agree with.

Flaws

Impulsiveness - Most of PR has this problem, so I don't really blame her. Like Archana though, her impulsiveness has caused major damage. Not all of of PR has that achievement. One big evidence of her impulsiveness: arvi seperation.

Self-righteousness - If I had to pick only one flaw for Purvi, I would pick this. Purvi is big on tho and personally it annoys me a lot.
The definition:convinced of one's own righteousness especially in contrast with the actions and beliefs of others
Using this definition, I can rightly say that Purvi is self-righteous because she always think she's right and that her decisions are more right than anyone else. Not that it's bad to think you are right. But u should listen to others too. Probably, the only person she listens to is Archana.

Feel free to disagree. If u think something is wrong or think that something should be added , state it and tell me why. If I agree, I might even include it or take it off.

so we can agree that she's written like the rest of the 90% human population.

humans are humans. they can be good beings and have good intentions as you said but their actions may have good or bad consequences/reactions and depending on what side you're on or how the action affects you... you'll perceive that human to be good or bad.

She's a good person but like you said she has those flaws. She never deliberately did what she has on purpose with malice in her heart. I feel like she always feels the weight of the world is on her shoulders and feels the constant need to "fix" everything and in doing so she denies others their right to free will and the chance to fix things their own way. She's always wanting to make others happy but doesn't realize she's actually causing them pain.

but that's what makes her human. nobody is perfect. we've all made mistakes in the moment thinking it was the best decision when in fact it was made impulsively in anger, happiness or frustration. and we never realize the consequence in that moment until way after.

Just wanted to add the fact that I don't think Purvi felt it was wrong for Ovi to carry Arjun's baby but okay she carried his baby.

She was angry and believed Arjun was lying to her. She misunderstood and felt that Arjun and Ovi were still in a relationship and Arjun knew about the child and didn't tell her.

The way you said that Purvi felt it was okay to hide her baby but not okay for Ovi to do so... then this can be applied to Ovi too. She was angry about Arvi baby bc she wasnt informed and was married to Arjun so why did she think it was okay to hide HER baby with Arjun and Purvi? She had already felt the pain about finding out your husband's child from another woman so how could she inflict that pain on someone else? Now if one says its okay bc that person did it to her.. well then in that persons head two wrongs make a right.

Now I know here a lot of people will jump and say well Pari was conceived before Arvi marriage etc. so it was a bigger betrayal and Purvi obviously knew Arovi were intimate etc. But regardless of whose's sleeping with who and when...whether they walked around the fire or signed court documents to verify it or not... the fact remains that any woman would be hurt to find out about a child of their husband/boyfriend/lover's from another woman. especially from a sister like they did in this twisted show. My point is a betrayal is a betrayal regardless of the differences.

In my opinion, both girls were wrong for hiding their pregnancies from the father. If everyone was just honest about their feelings and love then I think a lot of this would have been avoided. Lives wouldn't have been ruined.

It was painful for Ovi to accept her childhood love didn't love her back. Rejection is hard to deal with. For her, the rejection became an obsession. But she needed the help to accept it and move on with her life. And Arjun should have sat down with her and really explained and drilled it into her head until she got it.

Arjun lied way too many times. He should have been honest to Purvi that he was going to get engaged to another girl. He should have been honest to Ovi and told her himself that although he loves her, he was never in love with her and has fallen in love with another girl. Sadly, it had to be her adopted sister. But tht wasn't Arjun's fault... he didn't know. And then of course, he should have never accepted the deal. he should have walked away from both sisters.

Purvi should have refused to marry Arjun at that point when she found out about Ovi. I knew they were in love at the time but they should have waited until Ovi was over it. And then Purvi should have been honest to her family that Ovi was blackmailing her. And even if she didn't want that she should have remained adamant against Ovi's deals/blackmailing etc.

thats my opinion...but of course if this happend then we would have no show. but i'll give CVs credit.. they showed all this and showed what the consequences of impulsiveness etc are. one decision can change your life forever.

I agree tht she's human and we all make mistakes thinking that it's the best decision. However we learn from our mistakes and even apologize for them or atleast accepting tht u made a mistake. However Purvi doesn't do tht(most of the time). I don't expect her to apologize, but she could admit her mistake. But no, she doesn't because she feels she's right or says it's because of someone's bhalayi

so i'm glad we agreed. you're absolutely right tha tpeople will admit their mistakes and ask for forgiveness and move on. this would be ideal.

but how many people do you actually know that do realize it or they do realize it and accept it... or do realize, accept and actually ask for forgiveness? I'm not saying this to justify Purvi or that this is okay. Absolutely not. What my point is that, most people will never accept their own mistakes and that there's more so-called Purvis in this world b/c of ego or they simply will never think it's their fault. I think this is how most people are in the world. Sad as it is... it's the truth at least from what I've seen. People do bad things but never admit their wrong b/c they believe they're right. so how can they apologize when they always believed they were right?

Samarth good post...Goodness actually falls under her flaws which you mentioned..Good intentions go hand in hand with her hypocracy, selfrighteous thinking of she is right and she cant do no wrong..

Purvi's so called good intentions are her perception but its not reality.

She thinks & BELIVES what ever she does is right..So believes her intentions are good..We have watched what she did behind her "Ovi's bhalaayi rant" she was destroying it .She destroyed Ovi, Arjun, Their 2 children and Pari's life..Lets not forget Onir and Vinay.

She takes after her mother Archana..Both are destructive people.

That is all I have to say.

Neither is she flawed , nor right .

Nor normal .

She has many many mental issues and needs a psychiatrist . And all these mental problems r not her fault , it is the way she has been brought up . By Archana .

To start with she did not have a normal family .

Well , many many children turn out just fine although they r brought up by single parents . But her single parent was not exactly like normal parents .

She grew up hearing stories of how a perfect family existed somewhere in the world and how one day her mother would be re instated as queen and how that would give her the role of the princess who everyone shall adore .

Actually reality was the family that the mother talked of had not kept any contact with her , even a cursory one . Nothing could be further from the truth . Her mother went on weeping dramatically and feeding her with lies about how everything was gonna be just fine for them one day . She did not stop for a moment and think of the impact her lies were having on a child's mind . The child saw the mother weeping on her bio children's birthdays and felt terrible to see her tears . She felt her mother was surely the victim to cry so much .

The child was always told half baked truths by the dramatic mother and the arrogant grandmother . She was told that the kidnapping of Sohum was her aunt's fault . Her mother was the good , innocent one to hand the boy to her 'just for a few hours' .

Always the child was told the mother 's miseries were the actions of others . So she grew up feeling very protective about her mother and vowed to give her what was 'rightfully' hers .

U see , this is where demention sets in . When one makes up a mind about what is 'rightfully' theirs .

To top it , the poor child was constantly told in subtle language that she was 'lucky' to be adopted by such a shining parent or her life would be hell . Not an opportunity went when it was not rubbed in .

So the summation of how she was moulded was that she was fed with half baked stories , lies and guilty gratitude was drilled in her .

Thats the way she grew up . Thinking and believing her mother was perfect . And she tried to live upto her 'perfect ' standards by suppressing her innermost real feelings .

All her life she did exactly opposite of what she really felt . And when she could not help being true to her innermost desires she made cooked up stories .

Like Ovi's bhalaayi .

Actually it was all about herself , nobody's bhalaayi .

Getting her mother in as reigning queen , then being the golden child as she had fantasized in childhood and carving a niche for herself in the family was her goal .

For that purpose she used men left right and center . Arjun , Onir were all victims .

The bio children were easy to handle . The missing one turned out to be a criminal so would never have a golden place in the family but looked doubtfully on , the elder son was easy to dislodge from grace bcoz of follies commited by him in past , the twin Teju was a trusting sort who actually trusted her ...the only real problem was the twin Ovi who did not trust her a bit and actually gave her a tough fight ...for the fiancee , for the family , for everything . So she ousted her out .

For instance take NOW . The excuse of Ovi's bhalaayi has worn thin . She is actually going to Panchgani with a sleazy man fully knowing his intentions simply to make Arjun jealous as a man when she thinks he is married to her sister and has a kid by her . Whose 'bhalaayi' is she achieving by this ? No one's . The kid Pia 's bhalaayi ? That kid , if the stories r true will be left without a dad if Arjun once more breaks up with Ovi from her POV . Not having him as a dad for her kid was her firm decision . Her own bhalaayi is zilch by encouraging aged sleazeballs or spoilt kids like Raunaq .

Purvi has no good intentions EVER . She simply camoflauges her real intentions as she has learnt the game young . Thats how she was psychologically moulded by Archana and Sulochana .

So i don't blame her , it could have been no other way .

The point that Purvi took after Archana is completely correct. It's not exactly Purvi's fault that she turned out like this. It's more of Archana who made her this way. However, the blame will always go to Purvi since she's responsible for what actions she takes. Just like Soham
