"Shuddh Desi Romance" proved another surprise package of the year 2013 and 3rd big unexpected romantic hit after "Aashiqui 2" and "Raanjhanaa".

As we predicted, film dominated box office on day one and completely overshadowed "Zanjeer" which was a bigger release. Film was outstanding in north and by evening film picked up all over. Film has positive word of mouth so even in coming days it will be rock steady.

RK Sr spills beans about real life gen next and their love life!

Ranbir Kapoor's casanova image might be the talk of the town, but daddy dearest Rishi Kapoor is absolutely cool about it. In fact the Sr Kapoor who features along with Parineeti Chopra, Sushant Singh Rajput and Vaani Kapoor in modern day love story Shuddh Desi Romance (SDR), is party to a lot of gen next's romance secrets. SDR hero Raghu (Sushant) is sorted in life otherwise except his love life and that's what lands him trouble, just like RK! He's adorable and a simple guy, however his love life is complicated. Guess Rishi understands these issues as well as the film's writer Jaideep Sahani who has crafted this entertaining film that revolves around feelings and things more complex - love! The entire cast is all praises for the film's screenwriter, and even Parineeti Chopra's whose love life has not been in limelight admits that she has been in similar situations as in the film. Well Ms Chopra we wanna know who the other person was, don't we?

As for Sushant who has played this character of a confused young lad in love perfectly, we wonder if he sought inspiration from Ranbir's real life while portraying this role.

Something is wrong with Subhash K Jha. He seems to have become not only paid critic but a paid journalist as well. He ofcourse writes a lot of good articles about Katrina, but I have noticed that he also been churning out some really petty articles on Sushant. Its as if that he has some grudge against Sushant. Well, there have been some other reviewers who have criticized Sushant, but its his that caught my attention because it seems to be personal.

For all his talk of "zoron ka attraction", Raghu, as played by Sushant, comes across as a wimpy womanizer, scoring brownie points with any woman who opens her mouth to let his tongue in. If the hero had been played by a more intelligent actor, he would probably have been interesting. In Sushant's hands, Raghu is an irksome skirt-chaser. Nothing more.

@ bold: How can he have his own notions about the character and say that's not how Raghu is supposed to be. What if the director wanted the character to be an irksome skirt-chaser and not anything more?
