Shudh Desi Romance First Day (Friday) Collection. Good Start.

Shuddh Desi Romance has taken a good start at the box office on Friday the opening day. Film has collected roughly 7 crore nett as per estimates, which is pretty good. Data is compiled and final figure may vary. Film was loved specially by the youth and they came in numbers on Friday to watch the flick. Film stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra as lead stars and opening is better than the face value of the film.

This year we have seen surprise Hit in Aashiqui 2 and Raanjhanaa both romantic genre and SDR may soon join this list. Film is receiving good movie review from critics and audience response is also nice. Film is produced and well marketed by YRF and is made on controlled budget. If opening day is any suggestion, then by the weekend itself film will recover most of its budget.

Collection on Saturday and Sunday should show jump as Friday was a Working Day, plus weekend is approaching. SDR will now aim for a weekend of around 24-25 crore nett and that will be bare minimum after the stupendous start.

Shuddh Desi Romance Saturday Update. Excellent Start.

Shudh Desi Romance has taken an excellent start at Saturday Box Office as far as Morning shows are concerned. Film started well on Friday and it is even more better on Saturday. Film is registering 60%+ occupancy all over India for the Morning shows. Youth are just loving the film and pouring in numbers to watch the flick.

SDR registered a very good opening in Delhi and Gurgaon City with occupancy of around 65-70%. In Mumbai also opening is better from Friday with occupancy of 55% is registered for Morning shows.
Many Housefull shows are reported in First shows itself at places, whereas few cinemas shows are little below par.

But good news for SDR is that it is reporting excellent advance booking report for later half of the day and expect Housefull boards in many cinemas across India. Film is now set to touch or cross 25 crore nett mark in its opening weekend which will be a big achievement considering the face value of the film and release size.

There could have been other factors for her character and performance to be noticed more. Also, Sushant has got some glowing reviews as well. Maybe, they both are good and its for you to prefer between the two. I actually liked Priyanka more in Barfi, but Ranbir was outstandingly brilliant in the film. Ranveer got all the praise from BBB, but Anushka was equally good. Don't worry, I am all good now. And yes Anupama said both are equally brilliant, so that's another opinion.

difference of opinion... some subhash k jha gave SDR 1.5 stars where as gave zanzeer 4 stars... similarly rajeev masand gave zanzeer 0 stars and SDR 3.5... but i actually wonder authenticity of subhash k jha

Sushant Singh Rajput: Shahrukh Khan inspires me!

Shuddh Desi Romance Sushant Singh Rajput

He is just two films old, but the actor says he has already realised the power of cinema, and how it impacts the lives of people

Sushant Singh Rajput, whose second movie Shuddh Desi Romance released on Friday, says his source of inspiration is Bollywood badshah Shahrukh Khan.

"I told Shahrukh when I met him that I'm an actor because of him," said the 27-year-old actor.

"When I used to watch his films earlier, I used to feel that acting as a profession is so powerful, you can convince people of something which you're not. Or maybe it's so larger than life and you can hide behind all these interesting and exciting characters. But I didn't take acting seriously then," he added.

Sushant Singh Rajput, who made his Bollywood debut with Kai Po Che!, made the confession on UTV Stars' show Breakfast To Dinner. The episode featuring Sushant will air on Sunday (September 8).

Something is wrong with Subhash K Jha. He seems to have become not only paid critic but a paid journalist as well. He ofcourse writes a lot of good articles about Katrina, but I have noticed that he also been churning out some really petty articles on Sushant. Its as if that he has some grudge against Sushant. Well, there have been some other reviewers who have criticized Sushant, but its his that caught my attention because it seems to be personal.

For all his talk of "zoron ka attraction", Raghu, as played by Sushant, comes across as a wimpy womanizer, scoring brownie points with any woman who opens her mouth to let his tongue in. If the hero had been played by a more intelligent actor, he would probably have been interesting. In Sushant's hands, Raghu is an irksome skirt-chaser. Nothing more.

@ bold: How can he have his own notions about the character and say that's not how Raghu is supposed to be. What if the director wanted the character to be an irksome skirt-chaser and not anything more?

No It is Subhash K Jha's. I have copied and pasted the part from his review online. I have read the Indian Express review (the performance part) and they said that though Sushant has the spark, he is uneven which I think is a justified criticism. I thought the criticism that Sushant has got from a couple of reviewers was fair enough, but it is this guy who I thought went overboard. His four stars for Zanjeer speaks for itself.
