People not like Arjun that Ok. But why all time dragging sex matter. This is too much.

Viewbies Note: Attacking fan groups is not allowed. Everyone is entitled to their views and also to change them whenever they want to. Just because you dont agree with it doesnt mean you can attack others for it.

All the "modern thinking" about jeeju-saali that you advocated in another thread so impassionedly, just YESTERDAY got suddenly DUMPED for the usual VERY TRADITIONAL-its hard to be a single mother-jaap?! At least try to be consistent in your views!! Yesterday, on another thread you were bemoaning how many of us were not modern thinking enough to look past A&P's familial saali-jeeju relationship and recognize their true love for each other. How come you don't see-in YOUR "modern India" Women being good, successful single mothers? WHY is it paramount for the child to have a father's name suddenly? That is why many of us feel that Pari is little more than a pawn in their largely distasteful Love Games-its just plain hog-wash!

A " Modern"- RATHER bold young woman suddenly becomes coy and so needy that she CANT refuse a gentlemanly looking famous Gynae's marriage proposal???

WHY is she in a strange city? She couldn't let her family find out about her pregnancy.

WHY is her family not with her? Because SHE ran away from them.

Onir was her only friend?? You don't HAVE to marry your ONLY friend!

Onir told her it was difficult to bring up a baby without a father??? SHE DID'NT KNOW THIS??

REALLY-you like the character or the actress-FINE...but it is absurd to contradict YOURSELF in the defense of the indefensible in a FICTIONAL person.

You like the Amar Premis?? FINE!
But love logic MORE!!

PS= Ummm...You DO know that the "Modern India" you were so loftily talking about is a MINISCULE part of the 2% of Indians that live in the FOUR metropolitan CITIES??
In the rest of India-they are still burning their brides, discarding their wives for not producing a male heir, killing their children for marrying within the Gotras or outside the caste, they are still molesting and raping young girls, spurned lovers are still throwing acid on their one time "love of my life"???? So, pardon my snort of disbelief when you mouth platitudes about "modern thinking" Indians one day and revert to the traditional clap trap YOURSELF about "needing a father's name" the very next day.

@ RangiliDhanno: Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!

Extremely well said. You said it all and very eloquently. I couldn't have said it any better.

Modern India, my foot. It wouldn't be wrong that most of us on IF are indeed modern thinking in our outlook and approach. But, as you pointed out, one doesn't have to tolerate nonsense and crap and then try to pass it off as modern.

There is a difference between being modern and then defying all sense of decency, ethics, and respect for relationships. Hypocrisy at its best in PR and its extremely unbearable and unrealistic FICTIONAL characters.

@ Mohini-WITH numbers!

Thank you for your kind words.

I find this forum very trying-NOBODY moderates their opinions, EVERYTHING is a uniform monochromatic black and white! There are two OBVIOUS camps, equally adamant in their opinions. They constantly clash, on every thread-in each others' thread-they strive to score cheap, debating brownie points-it is all VERY confusing. I thought, EVEN PR-with its abysmally low moral standards-WAS made for entertainment...one visit to this warring forum quickly disabuses one of THAT misconception!!

I wish the Mods would divide the forum into three parts---1) The Pro A&P Camp, 2) The Anti A&P Camp and 3) The Neutral Camp...and forbid members to bother the members of other camps-just stick to like minded members? Instead the Mods keep adding MORE rules that get one group or the other agitated!!

IF WISHES WERE HORSES...WELL I GUESS WE BEGGARS WOULD BE THE ONLY RIDERS!!

RangiliDhanno wonderful post and I am in total agreement with you.
As Mohini dear said we all are modern and broad thinkers but majority of people from small towns and villages do not have the same thinking and are of not accepting. Does not make them wrong and make us right..
Keep it coming dear and let Rangili Dhanno gallop 👏 BTW love your ID. B4 leaving India we used to go Matheran just for horse back riding..😃

I LIVE in a TINY, one dog village in Haryana and it REALLY peeves me when people pontificate and generalize about India OVER a pair of hormonaly challanged FICTIONAL characters in a Fekta SOAP without checking their facts about Modern/ traditional / average India/ Indians!

You should HEAR what our neighbors SAY and THINK about this pair!

I am curious to know...seriously, for I always am curious what the general average Indians living in India really thinks about this show - my Mom stopped watching long ago, so have no clue- hope Mods won't take offense...

I agree with you Kalapi. I have never been to India but from watching these shows, I am ALWAYS curious about India and the lifestyles of the Indians based on these shows. Most Zee serials eventually end up with ALOT of inter-family relationships. If it's not two sisters fighting for the same man, it's two brothers fighting for one woman. If a person makes a comment about it here, then it is blamed on the "western thinking" yet these serials are written by indians living in India.
Anyway, I am also curious to know what people think about Arjun and Purvi jodi.

Kalapi, personally I find it gross but hilarious-everybody is QUITE insane!! I CANNOT even begin to comprehend the twisted minds that come up with such unreal, twisted, abnormal characters!

The Village is broadly divided into three camps-but OH SO differently than the forum:-

1) The poorest don't give too hoots for the shenanigans of these sinful "rich shehri folk"-they are too busy trying to FEED their families in Rs 12 as Mr Babbar proclaimed is POSSIBLE!

2) The Village upper middle class find the ARVI relationship appalling-they would have killed their daughter for such shameless, ungrateful behaviour-"yeh hai hi kaun/ Kis hasiyat se parivar mein ghusi ja rahi hai/arrey apne najaiz bachhe ko lekar dafa ho--those are some common themes-with many a salacious TYPICAL Haryanvi remarks added on GRATIS

3) The Pragmatic LOWER middle class score by jeering about the UMClass's double standards! Apne ghar mein bhi toh yeh log apni saalion se hi lage rehtey hain par itni besharmi toh kahin nahin hoti-aise kaand toh shehri log karte hain! More than ARVI it is their parents and elders in the family who are reviled with utmost contempt! for their failure to inculcate sanskars and then having no control over the kids they produce and jamane par gndagi phelaney ke liye chhod dete hain!!

THAT IS WHAT THE REAL INDIA-AS OPPOSED TO THE "MODERN THINKERS" THINKS! There are three families, including mine, that moved here from Delhi 12 years ago-I don't know about the others, but in mine, I sit, belief suspended, brain in sleep mode-let the nonsense flow over- JUST SO I CAN MEET YOU PEOPLE and undeaden my brain!!

PS. 1=Sorry Kalapi, I wasn't thinking-do you need a translation, you firangi?!

PS. 2= @JulieD- Will this do as a microscopic example of what REAL Indian people think of
REEL people in 80% of non Modern thinking India??! I would NOT venture to extropolate from my limited experience and knowledge WHAT the rest of the 80% think in other villages-NOR would I Google this topic to bolster my POV! and quote from obscure tomes that prove my experience RIGHT, like some self congratulatory Trinity is prone to do so tirelessly...Frankly. my dear, I don't care ENOUGH!
