Reporters have just learnt that the face of Pavitra Rishta, Ankita Lokhande, after much speculation her probable exit from the show, is back playing Archana.

Yes, you guys must be wondering what in the world is going on? So sit back and let us explain in details.

Ankita, as we all know gained immense popularity playing Archana in the above show. However, with the plot opting for a leap and the actress apparently needing time off to rejuvenate from the otherwise mundane scheme of things, decided to take a break. Her character went into coma.

Since then, there have been speculations that Ankita has thrown in the towel and is history in Pavitra Rishta. But she never confirmed the same.

But industry insiders and sources from the production house actually held the opinion that Ankita will never return to the soap.

Hence, started the hunt to replace her. First came the name of Shilpa Saklani. She almost got a green signal but later, due to some last minute changes Gautami Kapoor, wife of Ram Kapoor and of course, a fabulous actress herself, was signed on to play Archana.

Media even published pictures of Gautami with Hiten Tejwani (who plays Manav, the male lead) from the sets of Pavitra.

But hear what another source has to say, "Yes, the channel and the production house were looking for replacements. But the fact remained that they always wanted Ankita back as she was, is and will always be the face of the show. So before finally going ahead with Gautami, Ankita was buzzed for the last time and she agreed. So now, she is in and Gautami is out."

We have learnt that Ankita starts shooting in the next three to four days.

We tried reaching Ankita but she remained unavailable. We also buzzed a channel personnel but did not get any revert.

well Ankita is outstanding but one can't bring back the days of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kyun Saas and Kasauti where young mind blowing actress playing grand mother roles. It doesn't work nowadays I guess but am not sure how and why she wants to come back to the show when am pretty darn sure she must be getting a lot of offers Maybe because she does not want to mess up her rep with Ekta. Which is very understanding to me.

I have mixed feelings about this, of course I would love to see Ankita again I miss her but at the same time I feel she would be wasted on PR. The CVs have made a disaster of this show which could explain why the channel would want Ankita back in hopes of getting things back on track. I just hope if Ankita does return PR does not take her for granted because it takes guts to return to a show like this especially given the role she must act
