I have one more theory after watching the actual episode tonight on TV.
That woman Kinshuk is actually the agent of the real Kinshuk Banerjee who is actually a criminal. He wants Dr. Onir to do some operation on his face or body to change his identity so he can hide from police. Onir doesnt want to do it but the mafia don and his female agent are chasing him, trying to force him to do the dirty work. That is the best explanation I can think of...

Yes, Pallavi, that would hold up quite well, especially as the CVs cannot be expected to take into account the distinction between a plastic surgeon and a gynaecologist-obstetrician!

That woman had a face like the backside of a bus and a mouth like a rat trap. Where do they find these types, from the crowd outside Balaji Studios?

I still am gloomily convinced that it will all end with an even brighter halo round Onir's head, making him an even bigger bore than he is. But my hopes went up a bit on seeing the effortless way in which he appeared to be searching his memory when Purvi was quizzing him about that female. And in the end, when she was holding forth about the need to stay on the right side of one's boss, and proposing to invite Ms. Backside of the Bus to dinner, for a split second, he looked ready to crown her with a bottle. It was very well done!

This sounds possible. Especially after I read the comments on the forum that Kinshuk is a guy's name. You are Bengali, aren't you? But why Onir as he is a gynaec and not a plastic surgeon? I also read (haven't watched yet) that Onir called the girl 'Tum'?
One thing sure, something more sinister with the lady that Onir wants to skip town and go somewhere else.
This puzzle is more complicated. Have you also seen the news on Arvi promo? How can this mess be untangled so quickly?

Hi Vasu,
Glad to see you on this thread. 😃
Yes, Im a Bengali and Kinshuk is definitely a guy's name! Im sure Ekta knows that too since shes made a few Bengali background shows before like KZK.
Onir is a gynae but hes a surgeon also...so maybe theyre just trying to utilize his medical skills to get their job done. They know Onir has been ostracized by medical community and hes in dire straits so theyre trying to convince him to do it. Onir doesnt want to do it so hes talking abt skipping town.
Yes, I watched the ArVi promo, it looked promising. In fact I will heave a sigh of relief when they reunite. At least that whole melodrama of Purvi-Arjun-Ovi will end. 😆
But unfortunately Ekta will make Onir Bali ka bakra for that. He will probably get killed or go to jail forever. :(

Face like a Backside of a bus...😆 True, very true! 😆 That actress was in Phir subah Hogi on Zee TV, as one of the cheap characters. Shes probably one of Zee channel's regular extras...😆
Ohh you're cracking me up! Onir was ready to crown her with a bottle 😆 Yes, Onir the pure of heart was actually lying through his teeth! Not good, boy, not good at all! He got caught by his Mishti but like a practiced liar, woh patli gali se nikal gaya...smooth...as slippery as an eel! 😆
I have no faith whatsoever in CVs GK so they can easily make Onir a plastic surgeon as well...after all doctory toh pass kee hai naa...😃

Well, even if not plastic surgery, maybe the woman and her sinister Boss man want Onir to do some surgery related to drug dealing, like how they carry drugs in body parts, I forgot the term used for that.

Or some other medical malpractice like illegal abortion or female foeticide. Anyway they want Onir to do something illegal which he doesnt want to do, hence his reluctance to divulge his job details to Purvi and his eagerness to leave Mumbai forthwith and escape, not to Kolkata where he can be found but to relocate to some other city.

Dear Pallavi and Vasu,

Having been a professional diplomat for 38 years, and even though Lord Acton's over-used bon mot that a diplomat is sent abroad to lie for his country is no longer valid in this era of instant communications - the main principle governing, not a lie, that is too blunt and crude a term, but being economical and/or creative with the facts, is that one should not get caught out! - I see the kind of eel-like tactics employed by Onir yesterday in a different light.

We in the diplomatic trade call this thinking on your feet, and fast. There was his Mishti, 9 inches away from him, fixing him with, not a basilisk glare, but an eagle eye nonetheless, and still he did not lose his nerve. He gave a very good imitation of a man genuinely puzzled, and then, when he allowed light to dawn on him about La Kinshuk, his face was admirable in its relieved laughter. No wonder his Mishti, no slouch herself at being both economical and creative with the truth, was taken in! Onir went up several notches in my estimation. I would any day rather have a clever dissembler, provided he is basically decent, than a dull goody two shoes. Plus it is often a good thing to be creative with the truth, the authority for this being Lord Krishna himself in the Gita.

I also liked the blunt way in which he told her that he had been thinking of the shift for some time, and was only telling her (not, please note, asking her) now. He added for good measure that he could no longer stand the disgrace of being labelled a baby swapping doctor, and could not stay in Mumbai any longer, and when she mumbled her standard line about her being responsible for it (she left out the kahin na kahin this time, but she does add, very strangely, agar aapko itna bura lag raha hai to! What on earth does she mean? Is that some small deprivation, not just to be kicked out of his profession but disgraced publicly and for good?), he did not add his usual line consoling her and assuring her that it was not her fault. I almost stood up and cheered Attaboy, Onir, that is the stuff to give her!

To my mind, the sole result of the Kinshuk spiel yesterday was to make Purvi feel a tad jealous and less sure of Onir, which is all for the best.

Incidentally, why does she drag an infant to the sabzi mandi? It is ridiculous; Pari should have stayed at home with one of the two babysitting while the other got the vegetables. Plus I would never have let a stranger hold my baby.

Shyamala Di/Aunty.

Dear girls (Janhvi, where art thou? I need you for this one!),

If ArVi (it sounds like the vegetable, so I never used that in the old days when I cared so much for them. Now, when their grand amour is about as fresh and appealing as last week's buns, I think it is a perfect fit, so here goes) reunite in short order, I would stand up and cheer, for that would mean curtains for PR.

There would be nothing Ekta or her CVs could then do to drag it on any further, for their audience would not be interested in an ecstatic Arjun and a baby-voiced Purvi gushing over their santaan, and putting the toothpaste ads out of business.

Their audience wants twists and turns and rona dhona (it of course does not include the likes of me, who, shockingly enough, want a sliver of intelligence).

But that prospect is too good to be true, so caution in interpreting promos is advisable. It is like a mountain road- Dangerous bends ahead. Not just Onir, but there will be Ovi and her perfectly legit baby as well to be tackled.

As for disposing of Onir, let me offer you my latest brainwave. If Onir, a gynaec surgeon, fixes the face of the real Kinshuk, assuredly a don, one of two things can happen.

- The operation is successful, and Onir meets the same fate as the workers who made the secret passageways in the Pyramids. Or the plastic surgeon who does Nicolas Cage's face in Face Off. He is neatly bumped off so that he cannot reveal the secret of Kinshuk's new face to anyone, especially to the cops.

- He botches up the operation, not being a plastic surgeon. Kinshuk takes one horrified look at the end result, which is the kind of face guaranteed to rake in the moolah in a horror film. He pulls out his ghoda and plugs Onir in the heart. Exit Onir.

Take your choice, ladies. I have tears in own my eyes for laughing, so you gals had better laugh too! As for Ovi, you will have to rack your own gray cells.

Ms. Backside of a bus? Mouth like a rat trap!! 😆 Oh my, poor girl (or I read somewhere that the gender was a question mark?) I am eager to see her on my screen tonight and Sakthi's expression on learning about his guest @ dinner!
------------------

Vasu, that was my other theory, that Kinshuk is a gender change case of Onir's past. He used to do gender change operations for transgender persons. Now his ex patient Kinshuk is back wanting him to operate on a friend of his/hers. Looking at the supposed Kinshuk can u blame me? 😆

Dear Shyamala Di,

ArVi reuniting wont be curtains for PR. Ekta has other plans for the show. New Archana is entering the scene, Gautami Kapoor (she and her hubby Ram are Ekta's favorite couple in TV-land) so now Ekta will concentrate on new Archu and Manav's prem kahani and Soham's love story and Teju-Sunny-Ruchi-Jignesh quadrangle!

If you read this article, it clearly indicates Ekta's plans:

Ankita left Ekta high and dry so now ego-driven Ekta's priority will be to establish the new couple, Hiten and Gautami as Manav-Archana. 😆
Besides, PR still has good TRPs so no chance of ending right now.

I agree with you regarding Onir's possible fate. He will probably be disposed of by the Mafia don, Kinshuk, after the Face-Off operation. Poor Onir, all his nobility and devotion goes unrewarded!

Botched up operation...😆 Yup, Onir isnt a plastic surgeon so he can make a horror mask out of Kinshuk's face.😆
Anyway, Purvi stopped using her baby voice after that annoying episode. 😆

Ovi will be back after the 5 yr leap or 10 yr leap. Goodness, ArVi will be parents of a 10 yr old! Archu and Manav will be grandparents of 10 yr olds! I hope not 20 yr leap! That will be too much! 😆
I suggest the drug scenario...body packing or hiding drug packets in body parts which need to be cut out by surgery. Lots of possibilties, I like making wild guesses! 😃

Dear Vasu,

I gave up on Arjun and Purvi a long time ago, and I have, since then, stopped caring what happens to either of them. So for me, it has long since never been a question of Is this the Arjun and Purvi we want?, for the answer has long been a resounding NO!

I did not at all like what Purvi did to Onir, who was, now that I look back, the only reason I came back to the forum after more than 3 months of staying out, and not visiting the forum at all. I was taken with the idea of such a very nice person who was completely unaffected despite his professional eminence. A few weeks of his Mishti and he degenerated into a Purvi ka Poodle, and I did not like him as much, for I do not admire weak men who let a woman govern them in toto (and vice versa, naturally!).

I think they will have to make him die, for Purvi cannot be shown ditching him when he is in trouble and going back to her boyfriend. Indeed I do not see how she can do that without Ovi having divorced Arjun as well.

The online chat and Purvi in Ovi's bedroom misunderstanding is going to be cleared up, and so I do not see how that can lead to a divorce. Then there will be Ovi-Arjun's second baby too, which will make its presence felt in 2 months. Do you think ArVi can get together before that? Or after that?

Seems very dicey to me, but luckily, I do not care tuppence whether they do or they don't. Their amar prem is stale and jaded, and now looks like something picked up from a second hand clothes store.

My dear, all this hype about ArVi raising the TRPs is far from proven. I read a very detailed response from one of the CVs last year, to the clamour for reinstating ArVi to boost the TRPs, when he had shown, by a week by week analysis of the TRPs and the amount of ArVi scenes shown, that there was, in fact, no real correlation at all. I remember being surprised at that time, for I had then taken it as given that ArVi were the chart boosters.

In any case, they are not Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani, you know. Or Sakshi Tanwar and the 150% of Ram Kapoor, and even they struggled time and again.

It would be interesting to see what happens now if ArVi are reunited - whether the TRPs soar, or not. My bet is that the new Archana will be the key factor, especially if the subsequent focus is to be on her and Manav, and thus not of the newly wedded bliss of ArVi and their fans (not newly wedded, it is true, but it is a symbiotic relationship, rather like Siamese twins!)

Pallavi might well be right that PR will not be wrapped up any time soon, but I think it will be a bigger mess than ever, except for the ArVi brigade, who will be over the moon with joy. They deserve it, poor things, for having kept the faith for so long. Sarve janaha sukhinaha bhanvantu.

Especially me, for I shall, as I did last year, drop out completely, and concentrate on books, Saraswatichandra and DKD Mahadev. The conflicted love story in the former is worth ten of Arjun-Purvi at their best.

Shyamala Aunty

HI Aunty, We don't need to worry about Ovi. The lady looks like she has taken the decision. It is Onir who needs special attention.

I too am completely stumped at the new promo of Arvi's. As I wrote to Pallavi earlier in this thread, I do not know how could the CVs untangle the mess so soon? I guess the TRP pressures are showing and like a quickly made Kichdi, they are throwing everything in their hand on to the dish. New characters and now Arvi.

In strict business sense, it makes sense; why wouldn't Zee/Balaji cash on the popularity of the couple that the other channels are aware of? And I also think, there are some upcoming tours of Rithvik and Asha and they might have shot the montage in advance.

My heart is not jumping out of joy (you see, I am one of the 'them' you referred to😉) as yet- it does not make sense in the show for Arvi reunion right now. Especially after Arjun tried convincing Ovi and told her that he has given away Pari to Purvi. And Purvi would be utterly callous to leave Onir on the streets after putting him there herself. Is this the Arjun and Purvi we want? Do the CVs despice or feel so much contempt of Arvi that they have dragged them through so much mud and letting them reunite when there is no more soul left in them?

Or like the other theory floating around, the CVs are bringing a sudden close to Arvi and them after a rapid funeral, they move on to Armaan story?

Yes, I am a big fan of Rithvik and Asha's chemistry but this is so damn unfair to the Arjun and Purvi I fell in love with.

p.s: PR was anyways going to be curtains for me sooner or later. It is the novelty of the 'first' show and the 'first' forum that is keeping me going so far.
