Dear Janhvi,

Wrt @ red, two days ago, I wrote on another thread:

I was pleased that Ovi had become practical, and had started thinking of something other than Arjun and motherhood. To my mind neither a man nor a child can be the be all and end all of a woman's life, to the exclusion of all else. It is a capital mistake to let this kind of mindset develop, for it cripples you, and does the man and the kid(s) no good either. As I noted, Ovi has come to this realisation far too late to go any good to anyone but herself, but...I for one hope she does not go back to Arjun, and gets a divorce, so that she is again marketable, and then sees what life has to offer her other than men and matrimony.

Today, she has done the first, and even if she does not say so explicitly, the second is implicit in her farewell to Arjun. But what I did not anticipate was that she would carry away with her an ansh of her only love.

This is, on second thoughts, as it should be. Ovi, as I have always asserted, is a one man woman, and even if she does not get her man, she will now have something even better. Something that will be part of him but will belong to her alone, and will reciprocate her love as Arjun could never have done. Given that, life for her can never be a bed of thorns whatever the attendant practical problems.

Varsha, I think Arjun loves Purvi not because they had relations once, he loved her even before, he feels a bond with her, unfortunately for him. The relations they had then was not forbidden in one sense of the word, they were to be married the day after. She holds a fascination for him and even as Ovi said, there is an unspoken understanding between the two. It could have continued as a platonic understanding if the two couples had moved forward happily in their respective marriages.

Not to say, Arjun does not care for Ovi, he has always been torn between the two girls and hence his dilemma and the mess he has landed himself in, I felt sorry for him today as he sat watching Ovi's goodbye, he has essentially lost both women, I don't think Ovi is coming back to him, I hope she does not, for her own sake.

All I can say is high time Ovi realized she needed to be out of this sorry situation, I am glad she didn't need anyone's prodding and came to the realization herself. Would have been happier if she had left without the ansh or nishana or whatever one might like to call it, but be it as it may, she is realizing that she cannot change what cannot or will not be changed and that it is better to cut her losses now before it is too late.

She says so that those memories can become her strength later, she wanted to share some sweet moments with Arjun (her words). Purvi spent the night with Arjun in that shack thinking she was going to spend the rest of her life with him, he was her intended; Ovi spent the night with Arjun in today's epi knowing she was going to leave him but since she was married to Arjun, it lends respectability to her action as opposed to Purvi's and Arjun's the night Pari was conceived, society has its norms. 😉

I do not think either Purvi or Ovi meant for a consummation. While what Purvi shared with Arjun most probably was in a moment of extreme passion, what Ovi shared with Arjun yesterday was love. Again just my PoV.

Ovi had indeed decided to move on and free Arjun but like she said, she wanted some good memories of Arjun to take with her.. Memories that the old Ovi knew before it all came crashing down... Her childhood friendship that blossomed into what she thought was love before it crashed. I think she needs it to keep her going. Arjun has been the center of her life for so long that it would have hurt to have all those years of love/friendship marred by just one year of hellish life.

One of Ovi's faults has been that she cannot deny Arjun. But previously this act always had something for her in it. Ovi could have said NO to Arjun after her first month anniversary but she did not when Arjun asked for a second chance because somewhere in his plea, she would have hoped that he would come true and fall in love with her.

But yesterday was that woman who has matured greatly by the experiences life taught her. She has IMHO become a generous giver who did not blame Arjun for her misery but rather took the practical decision to step back and free her husband/lover off what he considers is a compromise.

Yes.. she did not face Arjun to tell him in the face that she wanted to move on. But I think it speaks volumes about her love for Arjun that she did it.. Unlike Purvi whose love for her mother Archana preceded the love she had for Arjun, Ovi would not have been able to look Arjun in the eye after a night of intimacy and tell him that she wanted to move away from him..
Ovi loves Arjun too much to not give in when Arjun looks at her hurt and pained after her speech. She loves him too much and would not have been able to deny him if he had proceeded to ask her to stay back. Hence that video.. Ovi did right. She did not run away. She went away explaining herself to Arjun like a good friend.. Absolving him off his 'duty'.

If Ovi is at fault, she is at fault for holding on to that one person who never gave her two hoots but she has learnt from it enough to see where she is wrong. Arjun will miss her but if he answers Manav's question truthfully about Ovi and Purvi, he will realize how true Ovi was. I hope he has the guts to be truthful.

Justlikethat1, fabulous post, I loved the way you explained it. Truthfully speaking, both girls were not wrong, Purvi shared magical moments with the man she thought was going to be hers forever, Ovi did the same with her husband who she was going to leave. Maybe we would not as individuals have reacted the same in such a situation but the girls' reactions are human and understandable. No complaints about Ovi wanting to carry away special memories, my post was solely to point out the difference in opinion about Purvi's actions vs Ovi's actions.

I do agree Ovi was mature, generous and lacking her usual jealousy on the tape. She was all giving and there was no holding Arjun responsible for what had transpired.

However, I believe Purvi was no less forthcoming, she told Arjun to his face on the hilltop to marry her sister, again, she told him to his face to forget her and move on with Ovi and be a good husband to Ovi, took a lot of guts to do that especially knowing that Arjun loved her. She asked him to close his eyes as she walked away, if you remember. Ovi knows Arjun does not love her so the difficulty is in her walking away if he asks her to stay, Purvi, on the other hand, knew he cared for her and that she was carrying his baby, not an easy thing for her to have done either.

I empathize with all three, they are all very young and foolish and have messed up royally but not with overt evil intentions, that last remains the sole prerogative of Miss.Punni.

Please call me Harini😊 and thanks 😛

The only difference SW is that Ovi walked away knowing that she would free arjun off his burden while Purvi walked away knowing that she was hoisting one on him.

Yes, all three were foolish to the core and have taken decisions that we would never have thought about but still, I find it sweet that Ovi realized her mistake and has been humble enough to see them as mistakes. She grows tall in that sense.

Arjun still cannot come to say the truth about his feelings (I may as well have to eat my words if today Arjun decides to do a twist and confesses what he really feels. Confused and completely bewildered is my take but Arjun may say something else😉). Neither can Purvi. She still has not sorted her feelings out for either Onir or Arjun and has not realized that it is her mistakes that are costing people around her their lives.

They day both Arjun and Purvi do see where they went wrong and accept that they did make mistakes all way through, and yes, apologize, I will be able to feel some kind of emotion for them. Atleast Arjun made me feel sorry for him yesterday but the precap puts me off. I am waiting for Arjun to prove me wrong.😊
