From Purvi's perspective, she gave up her baby to Arjun-Ovi as she thought it would strengthen the marriage. It would have worked if no one knew about the truth which she had kept away from the biological father. She decided to reveal the truth as she knew Punni would do a far greater damage with the secret. Even after Ovi came to know the truth, she thought Ovi's love for the baby would help Arjun and Ovi to reconcile. She came to know about Ovi's decision on not doing anything with the baby when Arjun told her in the temple. Still she kept to her resolve. But after the baby's kidnapping and Ovi's anger and conempt that she witnessed first hand in D-chawl and after she saw Arjun struggling when the baby had fever, she thought that enough was enough. She would be inhuman if she still not wake up to the plight of Pari.

So, what do you expect her to do?

I am not clear on what you meant by Purvi keeping Onir out.
