For me Ovi can never be the lead.

Whenever a shows lead is choosen, the casting people select people not just coz of their acting, looks or popularity also because of their potential and x-factor. I have always believed that to be a lead u need that something extra that makes the audience heart melt, I'm not taking about crying but whenever the lead smiles the audience watching should also smile.

Ovi and Purvi are two fictional characters, Ovi has shown growth, evolution. The character Ovi hasn't become popular. It's not as popular as Purvi. It's important that fictional chracters become popular coz that's one of the ways trps come in. For ex. Archana is most well-known and popular character of ZEE and I consider her to be the face of PR, she has made it enormously popular and just because Anki quit trps started to drip.

After the 18-year leap both characters Purvi and Ovi were introduced both were parallel leads and both got equal screen space but Purvi became more popular because the audience connected with her character, simple, strong, confident, independent nature and take-no-shit from-anyone attitude gave her some fan-following but now her character has totally been butchered.

In some shows it's the vice versa, the negative has more popularity and is better at acting, for ex. SSLK Charu is very negative character and Aanchal even won an award and who can forget Adaa Khan from Amrit Manthan even though she is negative she has more fan following and she is better that the parallel lead in the show.

So negative charcters can become huge and biggerthat protagonist but Ovi hasn't become more popular that Purvi. She has not overshadowed Purvi.

I'm not saying Shruti is a bad actress but she cant overshadow Asha and take over the stage as Aanchal can when she is in a scene with Roopal.

Shruti is still a newcomer and she is good but needs to improve in some fields.
