Dear Mohini,
I fully agree that Onir asked for all that is going to happen to him, for when one becomes enslaved by love this is what happens to even a strong man, he becomes a besotted fool and a puppet. Which is why I say that Purvi is like Homer's Circe, in the
Odyssey, who could turn men into swine. Here it is more tame poodles!
That was, and is, truer of Arjun even than of Onir, and while Onir at least takes a stab at telling his
Mishti where she is going wrong, Arjun is a blind and unquestioning worshipper at her shrine. Look at the desperation with which he is trying to convince his wife not to keep the baby away from Purvi! It was very strange and ridiculous.
The only thing that dismays me is the assertion, at times put out in this forum, that Purvi owes Onir NOTHING. On the contrary, she owes him a very major debt of gratitude. But for the cloak of respectability her provides her, life for her, as an unmarried mother, would have been pure, unadulterated hell, whether she lived in the K chawl or in Kolkata. The endless care and concern he lavishes on her, and his readiness to stand by her no matter what, are major bonuses as well. Now it is going to be payback time for her; I am waiting to see what she does.
The organ trafficking charge against Onir is a joke; I had thought it was going to be the baby swapping. Maybe the CVs got confused!😉 Onir is a gynaec, and why would he be doing kidney transplants? And where would the documents be to prove it? This said, the inspector is completely right in telling Onir that he has erred badly in not filing a police complaint against that Dean.
Well, it is all very boring, even if I skip all of the Teju-Suny-Khandesia segments, and there seems to be no chance of any improvement either.

However, one thing about Onir bothering me a lot is that he has never questioned or given a thought to the fact that Purvi has made ZERO ATTEMPTS to reciprocate his feelings. That is truly inexplicable for me.
In this entire pregnancy/kid donation/breast feeding fiaso, one person who was used/misused/abused and has lost the most is Onir.
- The poor guy was LITERALLY forced to come to Mumbai on "mahaanatam" lady whims.
- The guy had to live in the 2 room Deshmukh house with 5789 other members of the deshmukh/kirloskar family.
- The guy saw all the stupid dramas of the D/K family (including drama at Punni's sakharpuda ceremony, manjusha/savita argument, Sulochana's stupid asthma attack etc. etc.)
- The guy had to help "mahaantam" lady when she was being blackmailed by her ex would-be fiance.
- The guy had to exchange babies on "mahaantam's" whims
- And the guy is still continuing to play along with "mahaantam" lady's never ending mahanta's.
But, I also wonder if I should sympathize with him or not. In some sense, he asked for all this.
Finally, no point even wishing that mahaantam Purvi gets punished because we know it ain't happening. She is CERTIFIED mahaan.
