Pari,

Purvi took even my breath away today, and as you know, I am a seasoned diplomat and a cynic who is not easily shocked.

The woman not only equated the baby swapping initiated by her with Mittal's racket of stealing organs for profit without the donor's consent, and probably by helping the donor on his way out of this world as well, but she said plainly that he should have been let off as he was family. And she babbles about Punni Tai's suffering, when she knows perfectly well that Punni's husband was out to cut her husband's throat solely to scotch the same charges against himself.

The way she talked of hamari galti was rich, upon my word! Priceless. That confounded, besotted idiot of a husband of hers should now, finally grasp what he has let himself in for. A woman who, in all this while, has not said a single word to indicate her regret at getting him into this mess and exposing him to the risk of professional harakiri. A woman who ,even now, thinks only of her lie being exposed, and the impact that will have on her standing inside the family. She is scared silly because of this fear, and so she trembles in front of Manju and Punni. She is not just a cheat and a sniveller, but she is also a coward.

What a wife for any man to have! She will cut and run at the first sign of real trouble, not that anything is going to stick her even if it all comes out,as Punni seems set to help the process along with the new CD.

And she has the gall to assert that Archana would have 'understood' her and supported her. But who knows, perhaps she is right after all. She will always come out on top, will apni Purvi the Mahaan.

Well, despite all his follies in indulging this woman beyond all limits, I do not want Onir to go to jail or lose his medical licence. The first would mean the second in any case. If either happens, he might as well slit his wrists, for he will never survive it. It is not a question, Pari, of his coming to his senses after this happens. He is a doctor for whom his profession is a passion, as is his service to the poor, and no amount of his present mistakes can change that or take that away from him. Without his profession, he would be nothing, a mere shell of a human being, and he would lose the will to live. And no professional rehabilitation would be possible at all.

I do not see why the poor of Kolkatta should lose out because of his foolish obsession with his Circe of a Mishti. Who, it goes without saying, would get off scathless, and would still be swanning about the place.

Nor do I equate Onir, with all the errors of his ways, and the sleazebag Mittal, as some are doing on other threads. And in fact praising Mittal to the skies! It makes me wonder about this forum, but never mind. I hope the CVs find a way to save Onir from the follies they have inflicted on his character.

Well, at least for Shakti, his mistakes are reel ones. Rithvik worries me a lot, for I have always been very fond of him, for his recent and very public mistake is in real life. His comments about the Supreme Court sentencing of Sanjay Dutt could land him in serious trouble if someone takes it into his head to file a case against him in a Mumbai court for showing disrespect towards the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will not bother to react to Rithvik's comments, but a private individual might, and very easily at that. I hope this does not happen, and also that someone gives Rithvik some sound advice for the future.

Shyamala Aunty

PS: As for Ovi's poor little dead baby, I never had the slightest doubt that it was Arjun's and no, the CVs will not dig that up, Pari, so you should not fret about that. I think we are heading for the next leap, with the parentage issue still open and all set for next twist, the Great Bone Marrow Match!

What you say is right, and it still cannot be proven...This could anyday be reversed by the CV's for an unknown twist...But from whatever I have seen of Ovi's character so far, it seems very unlikely for her to have cheated on Arjun..Not to this level anyway...But in PR land anything is possible..They turned Purvi upside down from being a fiery independent girl to a helpless and forever sobbing girl with no control on herself or her actions. Arjun has taken a 360 too...So who knows next is Onir and Ovi...You cannot have any favorites on PR for too long..They make sure to kill any semblance of liking soon..I loved Manav and look where he is now :P

hahahahah guys, I am cracking up...telu, curly :P hahahaha

I love Mittal btw guys! What a smart cookie he is! For me, Punni-Mittal are the star couple :P No hero worship, no devi worship, each has his own agenda but think totally alike :P

I am waiting for Punnni to blackmail Purvi and get Sulo thrown out of the house by her very own laadli naatin...:P As for Onir, he has taken the deepest fall by being so cocky and unapologetic...

Shyamala Aunty,

If I start on Purvi, it may take pages. There is nothing left about her that shocks or surprises me. Tomorrow she may take up husband swapping as some bhalai or may even murder someone thinking about bhalai. What really gets to me is that she goes unpunished and she does everybody's bhalai but not the men who love her most. She showed the same disconcerting attitude towards Arjun and now the same invisible treatment to Onir, without a care for either. Between the 3 of them, Purvi only cares about herself, while the other two ullus only care about her, and don't even consider their own feelings as of consequence.

As for Onir, @bold, I agree deep down he is a great guy with all the makings of a good human being, but I will not cut him loose for this baby swap. Even if he did it, he shows no regret, no remorse and no insight into what a huge deal this is for the parents who are raising a child while having no knowledge of the one that is dead without a proper burial. His cockiness about doing samaaj seva and hence being saved from the clutches of the law was the last straw for me to give him any credit. His samaaj seva bhalai is of no use if he uses it like an ace to win favors. His love for Purvi has made him cocky, arrogant and really thick headed and thick skinned not see introspect on his own wrong-doings. I can suffer a fool like Arjun who has no capability to see through Purvi and her nonsesne, but a doctor who does a criminal offence, and yet has no insight into his own actions is too much. I do not want him to go to jail, but definitely he should lose his medical license because he has become so blinded by love right now, he doesn't even respect his own profession. As for his needy patients losing out, there will always be people who do social service without expecting to use it as some form of shield from being caught for wrong actions. Social service cannot be used as some kind of winning favors, but in his love and cockyness he has equated it to just that.

I do not think or equate him to Mittal at all. Mittal is on a whole different league all together for villainry. But Onir is slowly becoming like Purvi, except that he only does bhalai for Mishti, and no one else.

I agree on the RD bit. I hope he is not taken seriously. I guess he just needs someone to guide him through being popular and making sure he knows how to use it wisely. I hope you are right about CV's not twisting this tale any further. But as you can see, I have little hope left for any character on this show now.

As for Onir, I just hope he is not put in the bracket with Arjun and realizes the poisonous wife he has and either gets her on track or leaves her before he is down that spiralling whirlpool with only death as an option. Arjun is on the periphery right now. :P Once he knows PAri is his daughter, he may just fall over :P

However cunning your telu is, Kools, he is a very messy character, who does not keep even very important stuff sorted out.

I think he had a bunch of DVDs (why do they call them CDs?) culled from the CCTV footage, and this was one (don't even ask how they had CCTV cameras in the rooms) and that CD 4 was the other.

Now he did not seem to remember the existence of this one at all, for otherwise he would have used it to at least prove intent, if not the act of commission. How that is possible if he had seen it earlier I do not know. Nor how this precious CD 4 was mixed up with shabby looking professional CDs of his construction firm (I would never buy anything he had built; it would probably collapse in a year).

Now we have to see how Punni plays it; whether she hands over this DVD to Mittal's lawyer, or whether she uses the new knowledge that Pari is Arjun's baby (thanks to the DNA test results) to blackmail Purvi into getting her the K house. Purvi is by now in such a blue funk that she would do anything to save her skin, plus she would be sure that her aaji would 'understand and support' her.

As for the organ selling racket, if the CVs can produce DVD after DVD at random, surely Onir could have a neat little KV hospital file stashed away. I too felt, both now, when he associates himself openly with Mittal's arrest instead of doing it from behind the scenes, and earlier, when he confronted Mittal in the street after spotting him with that Kundan, and warned him that he was going to file a case against him, that he was being incredibly stupid.

But this time, if the baby swapping case is to be revived, it is good for Onir that he has dragged Mittal into the organ trafficking case, which is a FAR more serious criminal charge, being an offence against the public weal, and not just one against a set of parents. It can be used to prove a motive for Mittal to go after Onir again, and the DVD can be discredited. as it does not, unlike the CD 4 , show Onir doing anything. but only talking, and it can be claimed that the audio was fake.

Onir should have gone to Kolkata after this case thankfully saved his butt .

Staying here and doing a counter case was his choice and i am afraid he does not become an Oscar Wilde .

Helping the poor was his passion , not anymore . It has been displaced ...looking at Purvi's face and carrying out her commands is now his passion . Where does he help the poor now ...we only see him thinking out strategies to hide his crime .

Someone commented in some thread that it is scary when doctors frame reports , swap babies , withold crucial info from patients and destroy evidence throwing light on their crime and sadly I agree

As far as Purvi goes she is useless and both Onir and Arjun r to be blamed for not knowing their own worth and thinking she was the best thing to happen to them . Sulochana is making her even more useless . And so will it continue .

Pari,

You and I are never going to agree on Onir, so we will shelve that.

But I do not agree with your "His cockiness about doing samaaj seva and hence being saved from the clutches of the law was the last straw for me to give him any credit. His samaaj seva bhalai is of no use if he uses it like an ace to win favors." for a different reason.

What he means there is not that he should get brownie points for his samaj seva and should thus not be penalised for the baby swapping, He is not referring to that charge at all, as is clear from what he says next at this point. He is in fact referring to the organ trafficking charge, of which he knows that he is completely innocent.

What he means is that because of his life having been dedicated to serving the poor without any remuneration, he has built up such a solid reputation that no one would attach any credence to an organ trafficking charge against him. That is a very different thing from claiming some sort of immunity from the baby swapping charge because he has done so much good to the poor. When you have rewatched that passage, you will agree with me.

Shyamala Aunty,

I agree I haven't watched the episodes yet so do not have the context well probably. so you may be right about what he said in what context. I still do think baby swap was very wrong and it may not equate to organ traficking but it makes Onir more of a criminal in my mind is because he is a doctor, an OBGYN who did it. He used to walk around with a lot of advice about babies and motherhood to Ovi and simply having delivered so many babies in his lifetime or having so much experience with moms, he should have done better than being blind in love. But I guess, you are right, we may never agree on Onir on this count :) you are optimistic and I have lost faith since the day he was alright with sleeping on the floor :P
