Thank U so much Boni & your sister Zoya for this marvelous post. Enough is enough. CVs butcherd Arjun character too much. Now stop this. We want our Real Hero ARJUN KIRLOSKAR back. I am angry when people called Arjun is selfish, lust etc. But actually he is not. He is real lover who can everything for his love. Need back ARJUN KIRLOSKA's real lover Purvi. This now highly time for ARVI united for their baby sake.

I was never a big follower of hindi soaps before, just used to watch them sporadically, but sometime early last year, I had watched PR by chance and saw this young, dynamic, yuppy, arrogant businessman who had come to India on business and he caught my attention. Boy, did he ! He was so different from the norm, confident, arrogant, self-assured, smart, articulate, no-nonsense guy, that I was hooked all the way. I have watched him tangle with Purvi, then slowly but surely fall in love unknowingly. His realization that he is in love was shown so beautifully, but once he was in, it was all the way with him. Nothing with Arjun is half ways. That is the beautiful part of it. He went through misunderstandings, trials and tribulations in winning his love, but he held steadfast all the way. And, he did get his love for a while. Those were the glorious days of his life.

When he said of Purvi, "Khud se zyaada pyaar karoonga main", it was not just mere words that he uttered, he meant them all the way. And all his actions before and after Purvi's betrayal show that. His actions are misunderstood as weakness, but it is not so. For he means what he says. He will go to any lengths for his love. That may not be kosher for all, but that is how he is. All or None. That is probably not easy for all to understand. Despite how Ovi had got him, he has tried his best, not an easy task, to be a husband to her. She had not made it easy, and neither did Purvi. I really do not want to talk about these two girls now who have wreaked havoc in his life and left him as an empty shell that is his life now.

Why did the CV's not let Arjun fight Purvi when and after she forced him into the wedding, and divorce Ovi is a mystery that I do not understand even now. What they have made him do since then goes against everything that Arjun is. It remains a puzzle as to why Arjun has been butchered so much and is continued to do so even now. He has been nothing but a cameo for the past few months, being a crutch to Ovi, Purvi and sometimes for no reason, other than to hang around. It is a shame, for such a beautiful character to go waste as such. If the intent is to promote other actors, it could still be done, without doing this to Arjun. It just shows the limitations of their imagination and nothing else.

Rithvik has made Arjun real for some of us, such is his talent and dedication to his craft. I was always amazed at the way he has brought this character to life, and the emotions he has protrayed in some of his hallmark scenes are unforgettable. His confession to Purvi, the temple scene before he decides to leave for Canada, Purvi's confession, the rain scene where he tries to convince her later, his chawl scenes, the bridge proposal, and the best of all the night on the bridge before Purvi's betrayal , where he talks about his mother have all been executed so flawlessly, one cannot but fall in love with his talent. The emotions that he is capable of showing with his eyes and face when given a chance are a treat to watch. As Shyamala used to say, he has one of the most mobile faces of recent times. ..he had quite a few of us matured women, also fall in love and empathize with Arjun. That is his biggest achievement and credit goes entirely to Rithvik's talent. If the writers do not use him the way he should be, it is a loss to PR and nothing to him. He probably will still get his pay check ..😊

So, Yes, I stand by him, even today, despite all. For, to me, Arjun Kirloskar, is one of the best and real characters of PR.

Jyo Jyo...My goodness...you have nailed this so well I find myself hard-pressed to find something to say. Excellently sums up who and what Arjun Kirloskar is. He is indeed the victim and has been wronged to a point that is beyond forgiving. Purvi has much to answer for and a better track would be to see her finally have to pay the Piper for her sins. I dont care what the justification is- or how mahantaa she thinks she is--nobody has the right to play God, least of all her. Purvi is forever damaged in my eyes regardless. You know to be honest- though I heartily dislike Ovi- in all fairness I will say this. We talk so much about how Ovi should face consequences, and Punni getting away scot-free...but what about Purvi? She is getting away scot free too---and you know what? She is no better than them. Not in my book. She wrecked a decent, accomplished, intelligent, good-hearted young man's life. He took her at face value and believed in her---and she threw that decency and goodness and love right back in his face.

I dont believe Ovi has changed and will never be convinced of this. Especially after her selfish, childish, and destructive behavior toward her unborn child because she was mad at her husband. But I cannot in all fairness blast Ovi and let Purvi go free. She is no better than Ovi. Arjun loved her with everything he had in him...and she shattered his dreams and his life in cold blood.

A better track, instead of forcing us to watch the whole thing be done all over again to poor Onir would be to turn AK khadoos again...reunite them for the baby's sake...and watch her go through all the things she put him through. She will have to earn his trust respect n forgiveness back..and I want to see him give her one hell of a time as she attempts it. It is no less than she deserves in my back. After wrecking his life, keeping the truth of both his babies from him is the last straw for me. Handing over the baby in a matter of minutes. Nope= no sympathy whatsoever.

And I agree 100% in regards to Rithvik. He is Arjun hands down- and no other actor could ever play the role to the level that he has. Nobody else can be Arjun Kirloskar- of that there is no doubt. The scenes and emotions are executed to perfection. Even an intense eyelock from him speaks volumes and holds the viewers spellbound. This is a very talented young man, and as versatile as he is, there is no doubt he will go quite far in his career. He even makes the cameo appearances and constant watershed scenes something to talk about! As for standing by him- well, that makes two of us.

In a beautifully written lyrical piece this line
but he sweats first and bleeds next in the venture of love test
is my favorite ...

I did a double take ...one which is classic RD from his repertoire of expressions...when he arrived at the Mumbai airport. That is the day he really arrived for me. I doubled back to check out this character that was Arjun, from it's inception.

There was not a moment that I thought he was arrogant or rude. If he expected the best from his sub-ordinates, he expected even more from himself. The love and respect he afforded to all his family and friends was unpretentious. He never had any hidden agendas and wore his admiration...then love...as soon as he realized...on his sleeve

The subtle moments caught my attention more:
When he wanted to buy his mom's painting
When he did not want to discuss his mom with Purvi
When he was mesmerized by the raindrop
When he tugged at Purvi's dupatta at the escalator
When he looked on with such pride as Purvi and DK chatted
When...
..you get the drift...

And then he was not able to get through to Ovi. Could not tell her about Purvi. That ...was the beginning of the end for our beloved Arjun. He was resurrected for a bit until the night we all wiped the floor ( driveway, in this case ) with him, on the ill- fated night of the wedding.

Our favorite character, which used to be a strong author-backed role, was left, out cold. But, even as recent as today, the enduring strength and underlying consistency of this character is unmatched. The abject pain stemming from confusion as to why Purvi will not talk to him; the heartbreak of letting Purvi go, willingly, yet again are vintage Arjun/ RD ...since it is almost impossible to separate the two.

Arjun, we had, have, and will always have your back..till such a time that your creators will resurrect you...
And even beyond that.

Nothing substantial and i think its a shame for even when he was introduced , i never found him arrogant or ill mannered at all but well mannered and a professional . It was Purvi who was ill mannered and super arrogant and had no office etiquette whatsoever . In one scene he even told her lets go and discuss this in my cabin please ...each time she made issues in front of the employees , near the gate etc . He was the one with office decorum . Yet he was shown losing each time in ARVI fights and 'learning ' from Purvi . And so it has continued to date .

I completely agree with every words that you said.It wasn't Arjun who was ill mannered and arrogant. It was Purvi and in every fight they made Arjun to learn from Purvi and from the beginning Purvi was given an upper hand and Arjun thought she was indispensable. And you rightly said and so it has continued to date.

Don't know whether there is sense of justice in PR world or Cvs have any mercy left for this character,it would be just a waste of talent to see Rithvik just being weepy and make his presence for 1 min on screen. Really wonder what Cvs are thinking of the person like him just do cameo role. This is one of the puzzle I have:) Thank you Kool,Boni and Zoya.
