Kai Po Che's much talked-about actor Sushant Singh Rajput who is considered by many to be the most promising star-material of 2013, ushered in his 27th birthday on 21 January with a surprise party thrown by his girlfriend, television actress Ankita Lokhande (Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta) at a suburban restaurant in Mumbai.
Says a friend of the couple, "Actually Sushant had no plans for a party. Nor did he have an inkling of Ankita's surprise party. Since he had to shoot for Maneesh Sharma's film on his birthday, Sushant wanted to spend a quiet evening at home with his girlfriend and a bottle of champagne."
However as they say, Man proposes, Woman disposes. So Sushant found himself surrounded by all of his and Ankita's friends from the movie and television industry for his birthday.
"This is a very special year for Sushant. He makes his movie debut this year. And Ankita wanted it to be a very special birthday," says the friend.
This year, Sushant and Ankita who are among the most devoted couples in the entertainment industry, plan to make their relationship legal.
Says their mutual friend, "Sushant feels Ankita is as good as his wedded wife anyway. But they come from conservative families. For the sake of their families Sushant and Anikta intend to go through a wedding ceremony this year."
