The girl gets the brunt . I am not joking , and irrespective of what we both as educated women feel personally about this ,this is what happens .

As far as it not being that easy for Purvi too as its not easy watching a man u love with another and him not being happy is the worst punishment for the lover.

Firstly i don't believe at all she 'loved' him as my definition of 'love' is totally different , and she knew exactly what she was asking him to do when she asked him to accept misery for life .

But i know u guys will debate with me on that 😆 and insist she was in love so let us assume for a minute that she was

that her punishment is watching someone she loved with another and totally miserable

yet her punishment is much lighter compared to the naked misery Arjun and Ovi have endured . In fact it is such a comfortable , light consequence , like a student supposed to get detention getting off only with a verbal scolding by a teacher ...that i want it upped up a little , if u get my drift . I want her slapped publicly as Ovi was .

Even i abhor slapping personally but it is a high TRP hallmark of Indian serials so when i watch Indian serials it doesn't surprise me . Their viewers grab the edge of their seats and simply wait for the slap scenes . Slap scenes r used carefully in Indian TV serials as gimmicks ...generally they r done at public functions .

Now for finding the pubic admission of love for ex natural , not odd in Ovi's case as she knew exactly what she was getting into when she opted for the real humilation ...the acceptance of such a marraige

I do find it supremely humiliating coz these ugly / beautiful truths r private not public . The deal was a private affair , its acceptance too was super private . Her mistake was her confidence that she would be able to win his love with due time ...and that actually happens many times . As u say , it sometimes just does not happen ...fifty fifty . All knew this , even she knew this and had swallowed it ...and i felt she must have really loved him to swalllow that fact ...one can do it only if one really loves that person . Her calculation or assumption that she would be able to win him over in due course went awry and she became an embittered alcoholic . The definition of real humilation as u say comes only when u grow in age and mature . If u note Archana kept aside her self respect and stayed put in Deshmukh House and hovered and hovered around Shravni and Manav after she had totally lost him after his brother's death .

In young age , i guess , giving up or going after crazily comes easily to those in love . She has paid for going after , its the girl who gave up 's time .

I will take ur advice and be patient .😆

Kools, wanted to point out what you may have forgotten😉 - golden girl Ovi brought that public humiliation upon herself, she forced her husband into making that public confession, Arjun asked her to stop but she kept insisting, nay demanding, that he answer her question if he still loved Purvi. Ask and ye shall receive, that is what she is used to in life, ain't she? this time it wasn't to her liking, poor lost child 😆

With her recent nasty behavior Ovi is inviting retribution from the heavens, hope it lands on her super fast and crushes the madness out of her. 😃 She might turn out to be super nice after the craziness is gone, she is ARMAN's daughter, after all, I still hold some hope there.😊

As for the girl always being blamed by the people with a "chauvinistic mind-set" in India, let us "educated women" (as you term us 😊) refrain then and leave it "those" people to blame the girl alone unfairly.😉

SW i had not at all forgotten that .

Driving her to such a point was Arjun Purvi's doing and also her parents doing . Arjun coz all the time she made efforts to work on the marraige , he constantly threw his ex on her face , Purvi coz she was content with having emotional control over him after the one time sex and controlling his married life by cleverly staying out of the picture but holding the strings in her hand and the parents , especially the mother who was clueless and disinterested in her daughter's misery and too full of herself [ Purvi has become justtt like me ] and lamenting about the lost 18 yrs , and hearing baby music when son has grown up ...the mother did not even listen properly when the daughter came to talk to her but told her of her adopted child's glories .

Ovi had no option to have a public fight coz this nonsense would have continued forever . The goo goo gaa gaa eyelocks , the secret lauki halvas , the no consummation but giving the necessities and considering it as fulfilling a husband's duty ...all this would have continued indefinetely if she had not finally burst out .

Whereas she had no option coz she was backed to a wall ,Arjun did have an option . There was no need to fall in the sister fight and he could have remained stiffly silent when his wife asked him that question . He could have walked away saying ' You know what , I am not gonna answer this question . Beleve what u want to believe.'

But he did not . He not only fell in the sister fight , he also slapped his wife publicly . He also admitted love for his ex loudly . The sex had sapped his brains .

Because if he really loved his ex , he would have thought of her before embarassing her publicly . His wife wanting to embarass him was understandable as she hated her , but he loved her right ? Did he pause to think what this would do to her reputation after that?

The reality was never shown . One reality was ...Purvi hurriedly fleeing . By that time she had discovered she was pregnant and now things were too hot for her in this city . So she fled .

While fleeing she ensured that all felt she was going to give the married couple space and an opportunity to have a real marraige . She was super careful to hide her real reasons . It had worked just fine for her that Oi had thrown a public tantrum ...she went with wah wahs , making Ovi out to be the bad one .

Neither do i believe that things never ever change nor do i believe in permanent punishments . Infact i believe that change is an integral part of life .Guys do fall in love , forget their ex affairs and have a happy marraige by putting their minds to it . Here it is shown it just cannot be possible . The 'love' is a permanent factor . Punishments r permanent . And if that is the case , why should permanent punishments only be in Ovi's fate . Why not Purvi's too . If responsibility should be shared equally the punishments too should be equal . Ask and ye shall receive is true of her too isn't it . Arjun paid for foolishly loving a girl who dumped him and used him for her mom's happiness , Ovi paid for wanting a man clearly besotted by someone else , what is the permanent punishment for using a man . Onir's love ? Oh no , it should turn into permanent hatred , so should Arjun's when he understands that she intended to keep his child from him as if she had conceived immaculately .

Waiting for the Ask and ye shall receive moment .

I totally agree! I've been trying to say that Arjun never seemed to care about Purvi's reputation. All he ever cared about was saving his a** in front of everyone. He doesn't care if the whole family bashes her. Honestly, if I were Purvi I woulda dumped that jerk the day I found out Ovi was supposed to marry him. All he ever did was play sly. Then again, Purvi was way too smart and took his love as an advantage to make herself and her mom happy. She acted slyly by making that stupid halwa and constantly reminding him of his love for her.
