I gotta hand it to the CVs...and this time I am not being sarcastic!
No matter the backlash from the audience,
Archana will sacrifice, Arjun will be a nice guy, Ovi will think about herself ( except when she thinks of Purvi) and Purvi will try and help her family members!
Purvi acknowledges Onir's place in her life. How could she not? Even Balan has a place by association!! Onir made it possible for her to go on after she had to leave behind her Arjun and the family. As a friend, she thought. He thought more than that. She tried to tell him, as you'd think she would. He didn't want to know. She reiterated that she would not be able to make a marriage work. Yet, they are married. That will come to light eventually.
Right now we are talking about Purvi's choices. First Ovi did not like Onir and all that because she wanted attention. When she started getting that, Purvi showed up, again, like a bad penny. Ovi acted out because of ...well...we all know why. But Onir did not. Onir, who is almost godly in his approach to life, could not digest this person, who is an antithesis of everything he believes in. He refused to treat Ovi. Ovi refused to be treated by him, so there!! Purvi is the only one who realizes that Ovi is being ber Ovi because of her, Purvi. And then, she is the only one who has a way to make the twain meet.
Purvi recognizes that she stands to lose her relationship with Onir in light of her old relationships. But Purvi has to get the medical help that Onir himself admitted Ovi needs.
Does anyone honestly think that Purvi could be selfish and put her needs ahead of anyone else at such a time of need?
No, Pancham, I do not. I do not see Purvi as SELFISH or FOOLISH. She is doing what is expected out of her or what she thinks is the right for her family.
Which daughter in the world, when her mother comes crying, says - No, mom, you handle it on your own, I do not want to do anything for you? Purvi was in that situation.
Which girl in this world, goes ahead and marries the guy knowing that her sister will not be at rest and would create one havoc after the other, just bcos the sister very badly wants to marry the guy you are going to? Purvi was in that situation.
Which girl in this world goes ahead with her marriage in a merry way when she knows that the mother craves for her family and it is in her hands to give up her marriage to make her happy? Purvi was in that situation, brought to it by Ovi.
Which girl in the world goes and hands out a blank check to another to give up her guy? Ovi did that.
Which girl in the world marries a guy without asking a single question, 'are you sure you will love me and will be loyal to me (yes, in this story it was required)'? That is Ovi for you, who, for her own reasons wanted to COMPLETELY trust Purvi in this matter, Arjun's words weren't required for her then.
And for those who say, Ovi didn't keep a gun on Purvi or Arjun's head, Purvi neither kept a gun on Arjun's head. Yes, she asked. On the same note, Arjun DID NOT have to marry Ovi. Why did he? He had the freedom to choose and he chose marriage to Ovi. All 3 had their cards and played. They each choose a life. Arjun is putting up with it and so is Purvi. It is only Ovi who got everything she asked for and still could not make the best of it and doesn't want to. What a pity, this girl doesn't want to live or let others live.
If Purvi did anything for herself, then she could've been termed "Selfish", but here, she isn't doing anything for her own self. She is gambling her own life and marriage, putting at risk for her mother and the daughter of that mother. This no way is Selfishness. Neither is it foolishness, bcos she is doing knowing fully well what she is doing. She knows it is in her capacity to help and she has devised her own way of getting it done. She called Onir "non-understanding" and "not knowing about bondings and relationships", but that is her way of making Onir treat her mother's daughter. And why? Because it is her parents who are distressed about Ovi, her pregnancy and that they want Dr. Onir and only him.
Manav tells Arjun, "don't worry about Ovi, we'll somehow make her understand. Our aim should be to somehow get Dr. Onir to Mumbai".
Archana tells Purvi, "I am worried about Ovi, her marriage, her pregnancy."
When the parents know fully well, Ovi doesn't want to get treated from Onir, why are they hell bent on getting Onir? Instead of crying to Purvi about getting Onir, and Purvi assuring her parents, why couldn't the parents assure Purvi saying - "Don't worry dear, we have the money and every capacity to get the best Dr in the world for our daughter and we will make sure that she gets the best treatment."? Did they? No!
If Purvi blind-sided to that distress of her parents, then she would've been termed HEARTLESS!
Purvi is doing what a good daughter would do for her parents and family.
