"What distinguishes us is not our power or ability, but the choices we make." 'Professor Dumbledore (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets)
Isn't this so true, we are presented opportunities but the choices we make define us and shape our future.
If only Punni had determined not to avenge her slight and had seen the benefit of being exposed to Manju.
If only Arjun had persisted in telling Ovi about his change of heart before she flew down from Canada.
If only Arjun had not gone ahead with the engagement to Ovi but announced to the world that he was in love with Purvi as he is very prone to doing now.
If only Ovi had accepted that Arjun no longer wanted her and had never loved her.
If only Ovi had not listened to Punni's machinations and gone a proposing that ridiculous offer of barter to Purvi.
If only Purvi had not in a fit of self ' righteousness believed she could play God and forced Arjun to marry Ovi.
If only Arjun had had the gumption to tell Purvi to take a flying leap and refused to marry Ovi.
If only the elders in the family had stepped in and shaken some sense into the three headstrong, impertinent "kids".
If only Punni had not instigated Ovi again at the party last Friday.
If only Ovi had exercised some sense for once and refrained from making a scene last week.
If only Arjun had controlled himself and not blurted out the truth for everyone to hear on Friday.
If only Purvi had not left town, her pregnancy would have been exposed and Arjun would have left Ovi.
A lot of IFs and at every juncture, the succeeding turn of events could have been prevented or changed but this is how the cards fell and the game of charades continues to plague us.
Sulo has not yet accosted Manju or Punni, they still put on the mask of being reformed. Perhaps that serves Sulo's purpose. If they were exposed then they would stop pretending to be nice to her.
As for Arjun and Ovi, the circumstances are very damning. Putting aside the fact that I am an ARVI fan, Ovi seems to have finally acknowledged to herself that Arjun can never love her as he loves Purvi. Wish she could have come to this realization 7 months prior, a ton of heartache could have been avoided all around. She is pregnant with Arjun's child (looks like), he is playing the doting husband and she is hating it. Either she has realized that she can never have him body and soul and so is done loving him or she has "acquired" him and hence the "toy" has lost its charm, she wants new and better things, like not wanting the baby and perhaps, moving on with her career. Whatever it may be, the family has done an injustice towards Ovi, some firm handling by the dad and even Arjun himself, could have set her back on the right track a long time ago. She seems hell bent on destructing herself which is a pity.
Coming to Purvi and Arjun, if Arjun has fathered Ovi's child under whatever pretext (of abiding by Purvi's orders or not), ARVI is over for me. Purvi should stick with Onir who has taken on the responsibility of a pregnant wife and a baby that belongs to another. Sorry but if Arjun has done the deed with Ovi, he needs to suck it up and live his life with her. Purvi too needs to bite her lip and carry on with Onir.
One dare not say what Ovi should do, Ovi will do what Ovi wants to do. Her emphasis on "my party" yesterday showed she has not changed in some ways at all. The focus to her will always be Ovi. She can strum along Arjun or can cast him aside, as she chooses, according to whim, but Arjun and Purvi will keep paying for the wrong choices they made. C'est la vie!
