OMG one year passed since Manav left? Shit I forgot!!!
Then again, how could I remember? For me, Manav never 'changed'. For me, in my FF, my short stories, my crazy imaginations- it is only Sushant who has been Manav.(Now this is going to be a supergushy post. You have been WARNED.)I don't think I am ever going to love any character on TV as much as I have loved Manav (the Manav which was shown in the first six months of PR). Such a beautifully sketched character, fitted in such a beautiful heart rendering story- a handsome, hardworking, egoless man with a heart of pure gold, caring, compassionate, a man of principles but rooted in reality, struggling but never giving up, trying to make the best out of whatever fate meted to him. A cindrella tale in reverse. A man that made every girl want to believe in the goodness and decency of menfolk. A man that every girl would want to trust and hold forever, cos of his easy assurance, gentle smile and honest eyes. I am sure somewhere every girl wants a Manav for herself. And Sushant gave life to this character. I still remember every little scene where we saw his exasperation when Manav worked hard, his blushing cheeks, gulping or nervousness during intimacy with Archana, the pain or the tears in his eyes when Manav was let down by Archana, the helplessness in his eyes when Manav's love walked away from him, the perfect underconfident body language everytime Manav encountered Satish- Archana's former fiance, the anguish we were shown when Manav's family/Archana was hurt- Sushant brought out this character for us so beautifully and made us sympathize with Manav, love him and root for him.The show is still on, it will go on in the future too. The Manav whom we fell in love with was butchered time and again by the CV's, ultimately even Sushant, the person whom we associated with Manav left the show. But still today, Manav lives on for us. And thanks to Manav, we came across the wonderfully talented Sushant, of whom today I am proud to be a fan. I hope he goes miles ahead in his BW career, he left the show at a time when the story had become crap and all the characters had been reduced to caricatures of their own selves- and he has proved that the risk was worth taking. But I hope Sushant never forgets Manav, bcos somewhere I will never forget Manav and always associate Sushant with it too. For me, though Sushant is not Manav, Manav will always be Sushant. Thanks for the thread Sneha!PS: Oh by the way, I don't know what happened to me, but on an impulse I watched quite a few early episodes of PR and was missing ArMan terribly. If my post has come out more gushy than ever, blame it on that, hehe.)
