Concept of alimony and maintenance in Indian Court for separated/divorce spouse.

According to Hindu marriage act, there isn't anything as property 'sharing' because of marriage...women actually can't claim 'huge' alimony according to Hindu Marriage act. The wife is only entitled to the maintenance the hubby agrees to pay or the court decides. The amount is equivalent to the wife current state of living and as she lived when living with the man...she isn't entitled to half of the property automatically as is in the west...so Archana's alimony isn't 'huge' in any sense since Manav never lived in luxury nor did she lived in any kind of luxury..

Actually, woman in India does have very limited right over hubby's property...and if he/she is 'able bodied' than the definition further changes...

Sulochana was very greedy and shameless. I actually was amazed when she told Archana that you break Ovi and Teju's FD. How much more money is she going to keep taking from Manav and the Deshmukhs? She gives way more priority to Purvi then her own grandchildren. She never cares about Ovi-Teju to begin with it's all about Purvi. I guess I can give Archana a little credit for firmly saying no to Sulo. She was correct to keep her stand and not use Ovi-Teju's money for Purvi's wedding.

Manav was very generous to arrange money for Purvi's wedding. He didn't have to considering what Arjun and Purvi have done to his daughter. Archana does not have rights over Manav's money at all. She definitely does use his money all the time but at the same time she hates it when Manav is earning money called him ambitious at court but that same money he earns she uses it on her maika all the time! Manav has used his money a lot on the Ks so why he can't he spend it for Savita too? She is his mother who raised him when Damodar did not take a single responsibility at all for his children and now his grandchildren. all he does is Archana jaap.

Archana keeps giving mixed signals to Manav. How is Manav to know that she doesn't want alimony when she keeps asking for it all the time? He is not a mind reader and Archana doing this for Sachu is a horrible excuse. Archana abandoned her children.

pallavi25 Manav did NOT abandon his wife nor did he leave her. It was archana herself who had 0 interest in coming to Canada with him. It was awfully generous of Manav to let her come with him to Canada despite her doing a court case against him and her giving Soham to Varsha and he still gave her a chance to come but she had no interest. She abandoned him and also her daughters and Sachu.

And Savita does not suck Manav's money like the Ks do at all. OF course OVi and Teju deserve the money in the FD Sulo has no right to spend their money on Purvi's wedding. I don't understand why they have to have such a grand wedding for Arjun-Purvi if they can't afford it. How in the world could it come to Sulo's mind that use Ovi and Teju's FDs for the wedding? Did she EVER think how they would feel?

Ok, I get it now. A wife is always entitled to hubby money….It does not matter how she treated him in front of the world. The same money she has right to that was gained through ambition and took him to court over criminal charges over random people. The same wealth she considers her own but didn't live with a hubby for 18 yrs nor tried to reach out and show concern for her biological kids (but can have because of a nam ka baste 'saadi"…the same money she uses to fulfill all Karanjkar's demand, but turns 360 when that need is fulfilled and go gaga over Sanskar ...please do show me a hubby as magnanimous as Manav is…ready to give up wealth for a girl given as a adopted daughter on a platter.…we the audience do give her, Manav's money on a platter whenever it is convenient for us, don't we.…wonder what a hubby could give a wife like Archana…certainly not more money…

I get it…it was Ovi/teju's fault that they were not contested for custody in Court…they didn't deserve it….Ovi, the shameless girl…should have accepted with open arms the Mom who never bothered about them…she should have given up Arjun on a platter, such a selfish girl she is…couldn't see that Arjun loved Purvi so much…what if the marriage was accepte between both families…what if Dk blessed her then…she couldn't have taken all to the heart, seriously she shouldn't have a heart at all…she should have realized that Desmukhs get 'mokha' only at Karanjikar's feet …and should have been ready for her sacrificing Arjun…common Purvi is 'the' daughter of Archana…can anyone stand between the k's wishes…such a stupid girl…not that I see that Ovi's treatment was anything bad towards Archana before or after her true identity was revealed, but that another debate….but hey, no one can even raise a voice against Archana…she is virtue personified…

Yep being a wife these days is a thing to do...Girl power feminism and what is husband and his family's is mine but mine is mine and I can do what ever is the motto this days with feminists...No balancing between the families...What used to be it is not any more...

When I got married it was MCP zamana which was one extreme and now it is the FCP zamana the other extreme...Why can't they find somewhere in a middle to have a better understanding than the lopsided one..😡

Manav did give Archana a chance to go to Canada with him...but who was ther person who took the custody and divorce papers to Archana...remember...it was the evil Savita. Manav has sent a ticket to Archana by Savita. And Savita took advantage of the situation and gave Custody and Divorce papers to Archana instead. Why is everyone forgetting all this and I can't believe that members don't get their facts straight and do so much BHEER CHAAL in bashing the innocents)About Solo...I took the conversation between Solo and Arch...as brainstorming as to where to FUND the wedding from. It was a mere suggestion spoken out loud...and as it was not a good idea, Archu said no. I feel that there are some people who don't watch the serial for entertainment rather they wait like a hawk to attack as soon as the K's open their mouth. K's have always been a sore spot for them. How many families are there in the world who have a perfect living, make perfect decisions, have perfect children, have perfect relatives?? So don't get after K's on every step that they take just because it does not fit well with you.
