All the characters were great in the beginning but now they have just became caricatures or shadows of their former selves 😭. Even though the original Arman (Sushita) had charm and chemistry to draw viewers to PR, I was a fan of Varsha and loved watching her and Satish on the journey of their pavitra rishta. They were my favorite couple in PR and Satish was awesome. He was a great friend to Manav and Archana and a great husband to Varsha. It's a shame that all that has come to a ruin. I loved Varsha's spunky attitude. She was the outspoken one of the family and though that used to get her in trouble, I liked this quality about her. She didn't beat around the bush and was very frank, but she was also a great support for Archana when Arman's divorce was coming near (she and Satish were co-conspirators 😆). I still remember the episode where Varsha needed Archana to stall the divorce, she told Satish to come up with something since Satish was driving Archana to court. The plan was silly (Satish purposely got entangled with traffic cops to make Archana late for the hearing) but it was a nice effort on the part of Varsha and Satish. And in the end, they succeeded in stalling the divorce!

Nina, I used to watch PR in bits and pieces and so don't remember that scene with Satish and Varsha. I liked her too, she was headstrong, stubborn but had a heart. This Varsha is not like the old Varsha at all but today's Varsha did exhibit some remnants of the old Varsha. Her telling Balan off so decisively was good, she did not seem crazed or obsessive today just determined to save her "son" who was in danger. Let us see how this pans out.
Yes, she does have beautiful eyes :)

You know you are right, Ovi needs help and she needs help from both her mother and her father. Yes, Archana will want Manav to approve of the match as he has fully accepted Purvi as his daughter. But I have a feeling Manav will say yes readily even if he feels bad for Ovi, Manav is reasonable, he saw the exchange between Purvi and Arjun, knows that the two love each other, Manav will not say no to the match just to be spiteful or to side with his daugher. He is like Archana (that is why they make a beautiful match) he will stand by what is right. But while giving his blessings to ARVI, I hope both Archana and Manav realize that their other daughter is in major trouble and needs their help to overcome this blow.

Ovi has actually emoted so well. I was surprised to see Purvi's uninhibited conversation with Arjun. The transition in Ovi's face during that scene was so good. At the end, all of them gave a look at Archana which was like "Do you still need time to accept this guy?" I loved it.. let;s see how CVs handle this..very curious..

Villasini, yes, Purvi has come a long way. Seeing Arjun all vulnerable on a hospital bed made her oblivious of who was around them. I loved the way he talked to her, so protective and reassuring, all grown up but only with her, otherwise he is Manav uncling and voicing his inner turmoils to his dad. With her, he acts all responsible, caring, protective (I know I said protective already😆) and in charge of the situation. Very cute and very like a man in love. 😉.

Loved ur post !! 👏👏
You have beautifully written each of their emotions and how they portrayed them..Especially loved the ones in bold..I know, it is most of your post !!😊...

Archana really hasnt spoken a word since two days, but all her emotions are so well shown with just a glance...This side of Ankita's acting is what I like. She does them beautifully...I am not very fond of her scenes that has too much melodrama or high pitched dialogues and heavy crying. they dont move me as much as this did. I wish she was like this always..i dont mean not having dialogues but rather restrained acting. i am probably in minority in this.

Hiten also does a great job as a dad. He is a very matured actor, just stuck in this role sometimes which is not appealing, but he is very good at being Ovi's dad especially shows just by a gesture and look about his understanding of his daughter's pain.

Ofcourse, shruti is great as the now Ovi. She has made so many of us dislike and criticize the character so much, that is a recognition of her talent. I feel that she is doing much better as this crazy, obsessive lover than the one she was before arjun's revelation. I always thought of her as a little stiff with wooden expressions before. never could relate to her. But, since then, she has improved by leaps and bounds.

About Arjun, do I need to say anything ..😃...He is and has always been very open about his love for Purvi (sans that crappy 6 weeks), his first and foremost priority has always been Purvi, center of his world. His first thought after he woke up was Purvi and had to make sure she was alright !!

Arjun and Purvi's had a very simple conversation today, but the emotion and love in each word that you can feel is absolutely flawless.. Both Arjun and Purvi were absolutely marvellous today. Purvi is no less than Arjun nowadays..she has bloosomed so much now, love the way she is so open about her feelings with Arjun.

Absolutely loved what you said below, and it applies to Arjun and Purvi totally today, especially with everyone around them who dont approve of their relationship, except of course DK.
The two were ensconced in a private little universe even as the others looked on.

I too have a doubt that Archana might not retract in the back of my mind, mostly, because of Manav and Ovi, but I am hoping against hope that she will. Otherwise, she is not being fair to any daughter of hers. Especially Purvi. She should not have to bear the outcome of Archana's guilt over Ovi. THAT is not fair... Even if she tells DK to take Arjun home reluctantly, Arjun might say that he will complete the condition as he wants Purvi at no bar.. I will want that too... Archana needs to give her permission unconditionally not out of momentary sympathy or gratitude for rescuing Purvi. If not, I also want Arjun to satisfy the condition, give the money to Archana and say "here u go" and would like Archana to give Purvi's hand to Arjun literally...Let us see what happens.

Dear Jyothi, thank you for the encomium, deep bow.
I truly hope DK sets things right by pulling the 10K out of his pocket and giving it to Arjun while telling him "here is your money, I got it back as I paid for Churan's surgery in full". I too want Arjun to fulfill his part and give Archana the 10K otherwise it is like a promise not kept. There should be no doubts ever in anyone's mind that he is not worthy of Purvi.
I am glad Hiten got a chance to show off his acting skills, I like him and his acting and have been somewhat disappointed at the minimal exposure he has been getting in PR.
Ankita is a born actress, with a glance, a gesture, a slight movement, she can convey so many emotions. Really awesome for someone as young as she is.
Shruthi is shaping up nicely, you are right, I thought she was wooden too in the earlier scenes in Canada with her grandparents and they all seemed so rote, now she has come into her own and is doing pretty well. I hope Ovi the character moves on and away from ARVI.

arjunaluis, i agree that Archana might not agree because of Ovi But i feel different about Manav..Even Manav would see it's good for the two of them and both he and Archana will see it's good but both wait to publicly say much bc of Ovi. At least at the hospital in front of Ovi they can't do that.
DK must come forward about ARjun...and hopefully Archana will just say the challenge is off but we will talk later when Arjun is recovered...at his dad's. As to Arjun and Purvi together helping Ovi it's not at all ...can't be ..Purvi's place to do that. I've written on several threads that Arjun must sit down with Ovi as her best friend to talk to her, because i think she is grieving the loss of his friendship most of all. She knows he never loved her although DK did't help on that matter...but she needs him to stay her friend. Right now she has no one. Something may cause her to break even more (Manav being stalked and hurt by the goons) and if she allows ARchu to love her...finally...she;ll be ok.

I liked your reflections...thx for sharing them.

Janhvi,

A characteristically eloquent and telling round up, and of a kind that I cannot remember ever having seen before in the forum, where the focus is usually on the characters rather than on the actors. This is a very nice change, and I liked the post that much more on that account.

A valuable spin off from this approach of yours is that it leaves much needed room for admiring and praising a performance even if it is tough to understand and make allowances for the character. This is something that you have brought out very clearly here in the case of Ovi, just as I have tried to do today for Vishnu.

In the usual run of things, we get so bogged down in defending the characters we care for and love ,and criticising the ones we dislike, that we lose sight of the quality of the performances, and as a result , the actors lose out in terms of public appreciation. In that sense, your post is as good as an acting appreciation course. Regarding your assessments of the individual performances, I agree with you to a surprising degree, which comes in handy as I thus do not have to say anything at all under that head!

As for Archana and her likely response come Monday, I would not risk a guess, given my propensity to score very low in the matter of second guessing the CVs. More to the point, I do not care, and neither should you, for it really does not matter whether DK pulls out the Rs.10k as a reimbursement from the hospital, or Arjun insists on doing another 2 months in the garage and his kholi no.210.

Purvi and he just might prefer the liberty to fool around that the latter would give them, with more meals to be shared sitting on that durree, and more vessels to be washed, with a cosy intimacy that would be gone for good once they return to the opulence of the world of the Kirloskars. Someone had written in one of these threads that Archana might now not stop Purvi from meeting Arjun, and that made me laugh out loud. Your little girl has thrown her aai's proscription to the winds lo..ong back, hasn't she? I just love the way she is all there for Arjun these days, and in fact since quite a few weeks now, without any false sense of sanskaari modesty. And as you would remember, I have always adored that little girl voice of hers.

What I am really looking forward to is Vishnu escaping from police custody. Then the fireworks will begin. But before that, we have to see whether Arjun-Purvi are to be wrapped up on Monday and consigned to the wings of the theatre for the next few weeks, as Vishnu, Varsha, Balan, and of course Manav and Archana move to and hold the centre of the stage.

A few thoughts about the actors and the characters they portrayed today ' all really well done.

Hiten played the dad to perfection ' the swallowing, the imperceptible shift in glances, the worried look, he donned the role of Manav like a second skin today. His gentle concern for Purvi at the beginning of the hospital scene which turned into an indiscernible distance when she makes reference to Arjun, his darting looks at Ovi when she threatens Purvi, his consoling his distraught daughter, the exchange of glances between Archana and him when Ovi returns to his arms after boldly exhibiting her bitterness, his discomfiture at being privy to Arjun's and Purvi's conversation within the room, his look at Tej to see how she is taking it to his walking out of the room after Ovi, all deserve full marks.

Rithvik was the hero today as DK told an unconscious Arjun, he has done his dad and his mom proud. He throws propriety to the winds (as he always has done and always will do, sigh!) as he calls out Purvi's name and beckons her to him. The exchange of sweet nothings between them (what else can you call it even though it was the most mundane exchange of enquiries on mutual well-being) was so natural, he has no thought for anyone else in the room, a propensity to disregard all else, even himself when it comes to this girl he has given his heart to, was so revealing. He loves her and cares not if the world knows about it or is it that in his mind, no world exists beyond his Purvi?

Asha did Purvi more than justice today. Her holding back her emotions in the face of Ovi's accusation, her hesitation in entering the room, her glance at Ovi's face when Arjun stretched out his hand to her and then her total oblivion to the world around them as she talks in that sweet, little girl voice that she seems to reserve for him alone. The two were ensconced in a private little universe even as the others looked on.

Tej was just Tej, collected, mature, measuring the expressions on Purvi's and Arjun's faces. She has realized this is not the same boy they had to trick into calling or spending time with her sister, Ovi. This is a man head over heels in love, so much in love that he is prepared to sacrifice his everything for the girl he loves, his comfort, his habits, his career, his very life.

DK overhears Arjun and realizes the depth of the love his son as for this middle class sanskari girl, sanskari she is, she does care for Ovi's pain, why else would she allow Ovi to trip in front of her into the room and hesitate to place her hand or go near her love?

Last but not least, Shruthi was wonderful as Ovi. When an actress plays the role so well, we, the viewers empathize, dislike, or rail at her. Ovi makes us do all that. Her pain is palpable, this is her best friend, her love of years and her dad is aware of her anguish, perhaps, that is why he is unable to jerk her back to reality by telling her that said young man has given his heart into the safe-keeping of another girl. The way she berates Purvi then retreats into the safe haven of her dad's arms was like that of a child that performs her bit then goes back into hiding in her parents' arms. She is very much a child, has not grown up except for flashes of the woman who has been scorned. She looks daggers at Purvi before she enters the room but the next moment trounces off to Arjun's bedside very reminiscent of a little girl. She switches again to woman, the way her fingers unclutch to clasp his outstretched hand, bespeak volumes. Her bitter look at Purvi when the latter slips her hand into Arjun's says it all.

Superb performances by all.

Ankita was beautiful as always and Archu was Purvi's mom to the T, her gathering her child, her stepping close to Purvi at Ovi's accusation, her step forward towards Ovi as she walks off, her guilt ridden look at the end, were all par excellence.

Aside: by the look on her face, I don't think Archana is going to retract ' the challenge still stands. I do hope DK will clarify the Churan matter on Monday and inform Archana as well as Arjun that he has reclaimed Arjun's money from the hospital by giving DK's own and paying in full for the little boy's operation. This way, Arjun can fairly win his challenge and Archana will not lose face either. Arjun would score doubly, by having collected the 10K and two bullets for Purvi. Can't beat that for a character reference in an intended groom.

Dear Shyamala, I think you are enjoying your wards too much, carrom and all 😉Thank you for the lovely compliments, not sure they are deserved, unfortunately I have been typing most of my posts on my phone and catch a bunch of typos later.
As for Vishnu, I find him fascinating, as someone wrote about Ovi being complex, I think if anything Vishnu is even more complex. I predicted Ankit would grow on you (and Jyothi). He tries too hard to please his father (Balan), is that in fear? as he has seen the guy manhandle his maayi? He adores the woman he thinks is his mother, talks of her often enough, swears on the Ganga that he did not ill treat Purvi in captivity (that seemed to matter to him), he is resourceful, quick thinking, has a sense of naughtiness about him, ruthless? perhaps, has an exaggerated sense of self worth, talks a bit too much, felt some heart strings tug at the touch of his real mother. The guy is interesting to say the least and with names like Munna, Lallan, Vishnu, instead of the ever so sweet Soham that he could have been, I guess he will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming episodes! Vengeance seems to be at the top of his mind and Manav at the receiving end so there ought to be plenty of emotional fireworks and buckets of tears in the offing. I am hanging on tight to the roller-coaster!😆

CV's is using Ovi to continue the conflict/tension between Archana and Manav. if Ovi moves on then Archana will not have any conflict and can easily accept Arjun and Purvi . There will not be any tension between her and Manav , she can accept Arjun and Purvi and not worry about hurting Manav.
There is lot of scope for high tension drama if Ovi stays obssessed with Arjun and I am sure Cv's will not give up this track ant time soon ...

The two will have enough to deal with Soham on the scene and to face that trauma, they have to be united as a couple. Archana looked almost accusingly at Manav when Ovi walked back to him after spitting those words of venom at Purvi, Manav actually averted his eyes from Archana almost guiltily ( rewatched the scene again). He will say yes to Arjun and Purvi, he is a fair and reasonable man. Archana is on her own in this decision of giving the nod to ARVI. She may surprise us and say yes, who knows.
Ovi may stay demented over Arjun and the CVs may choose to reintroduce that later perhaps when the Soham track is over and when ARVI are engaged or married. Right now, I think the focus will be on their long lost son, it will truly be the return of the prodigal son!!
