Ayushmann Khurrana's kitty is full. The actor who charged only a "nominal fee" for Vicky Donor has charged a hefty amount of Rs 1 Crore for his next film with Rohan Sippy. When we got in touch with the former VJ turned actor, he said, "How does that matter?

I have been reading a few good scripts and thinking about doing good films. What is the problem if I increase my fees? Moreover, I was one of the highest paid anchors in the country." So was Vicky Donor, his first movies, which also became a blockbuster, just a stepping stone to working with big budget directors? "Yes, it was. Money will provide food for stomach while acting will provide food for soul," he smiles.

Sippy's next has Khurrana with Kunal Roy Kapoor of Delhi Belly fame. "It is a buddy film which is quirky and unusual," he adds. Sushant Singh Rajput, tele world's chocolate boy, who will now make his Bollywood debut with Kai Po Che, has also rejected offers from the Bhatt Camp and Yash Raj Films just to be directed by the Rock On!! director. "Increasing fees post the debut hit is the right thing to do.

It is simple economics - which follows the demand and supply rules. Everybody approaches the one film wonder actors. And you can't say yes to everybody. So what you do is, increase the fees," says Sushant. Will he ever charge such a hefty amount, only for his second film? "It all depends on the success of my first film," he grins. According to Shoojit Sircar, who directed Ayushmann in Vicky Donor, "It is a personal and subjective thing. If the producer can afford to pay him, what's the harm in it? And if he doesn't want to cast an expensive actor, then he will settle for a newcomer," explains Sircar.
