I don't understand how hypocritical some members can be. You may not condone physical abuse or violence but you CANNOT deny that it exists in many families in India and elsewhere. It is undeniably an element human nature to become physically aggressive under certain situations.

Ofcourse no one will admit it publicly so you can hide yourself well behind a cultured/civilized mask.

What they've shown on T.V. is a reality and for you to throw a fit about it is overreaction.

yes in every family there is a husband or a brother or now even a girl beating up someone for right or wrong acc to them but that doesn t make slapping right.
i am a violent person and i can say, am wrong whenever i hit someone cause am angry and am not takling about the scratching or hair pulling.

nothing physical should happen when its going back to someone else as an insult - right or wrong. angry or not.

i absolutely agree with you varsha di, that such behavior is outrageous and uncalled for...but at the same time it still prevails in our society so instead of showing it on tv ekta should enlighten the audience on such issues and how they are wrong
I am not at all a violent person, i get angry but never show it in fact i go to my room and punch my teddy😆...think ekta should start anger control association cause in her shows out of anger the lead either rape or slap or shove or i dont know what else😡

Boredmom ji
I do agree with you on physical, mental, emotional abuse does exist in India and in rest of the world...Manav never was abusive nor he meant to do so...The scene which required him to be in anger was done but the force with shove-push happened was not expected...
I dont think anyone here condones Physical abuse...I want EK to handle these type of issues with offense and educate audiance against it...Instead she uses them to increase her TRP..
May be you got my post wrong..Its not over reaction..It is merely speaking against it...I am a woman quite mature in age and experience...I know what I am talking abt..
THanks for your input really appreciate it...I do agree with you that abuse exist in all societies eastern or western..
Poppy dear thanks for liking my post & your input...Its not about Manav, Hiten or Sushant the actors...Its abt the issue...SO lets not bring any actors...Though I appreciate your post 😊

boredomom, Acknowledging that physical abuse and violence occurs in many cultures, India not excluded, is not the same thing as writing a story line where the abuse and violence is not really shown to be wrong and is done by the lead character.

As viewers on IF we have discussed this issue many times, knowing it exists of course; no one is hiding it. But it's something that is never corrected, challenged or shown to be negative in these soaps. (The reaction of DK was one of the few times someone was called on this behavior).

I am glad Varsha brought up the Ajit issue, which i and others have also been talking about since all the recent slapping started. Just for the record, again, I am personally totally opposed to even the slapping that goes on in PR...it is ludicrous.

All kinds of terrible behaviour exists, violent, lewd, disgusting. But, i certainly don't want to watch it on the television on the soaps. It's completely insulting to viewers and in the way the stories evolve and are written, they actually give a thumbs up to such behaviour..

Thanks Varsha for posting this as a separate topic rather than it just being embedded in many others.. You know no one has mentioned it, but i was just as disturbed by Manav's words...that everyone should leave otherwise he could/would do something very bad (worse than he already had done.) Not at all appropriate for this or any other show.

Sulo slapped Manav twice or thrice. Manav shoved Archana. Vandu got raped. Vandu was beat up regularly by Ajit.

^That's the story in PR.

Gauri got raped by Ansh in Kyunkii (one of the earliest rape scenes on TV), KT got raped by his son (forgot the character's name).

^That's Kyunkii.

Pratigya almost always had domestic violence related scenes. More recently Komal got beat up by Adarsh. Thakurs always beat up their wives.

My problem is not showing domestic violence. Because if we are talking about banning violence then we might as well ban, fights, slaps, or any kind of harsh physical conduct. You can show reality on TV, thats what we have it for - to spread a message.

But my problem with that scene was how a person as civilized as Manav could resort to that, and how EVEN after that Archana doesn't stand up for herself. THAT sends the wrong message. NOT the shoving and pushing. Rape scenes are taking it a step too far, but stay within the limits but please show a proper reaction to that.

If Manav doesn't apologize or Sachin or Teju don't say anything to Manav, I'll be SO pissed off. I'm already so mad that they made Manav do it.. why are they out to make him the bad guy? 😡 The Manav I know ISN'T bad.

Why are you bringing Hiten into this? :O He had a role and he did it. People in movies get raped, slapped, kicked, killed - we don't blame the actors right?

Hiten didn't hit Ankita. Manav hit Archana. Lets keep actors away from their characters.

Varsha Di thanks so much for this topic. It is totally wrong for a husband to physically hurt his wife. Manav's anger was completely 100% justified however they should not show such scenes like this in PR or any show like pushing, shoving etc. Same goes for the scenes they show of Sulo physically hurting Manav by slapping him. I blame the CVs for this actually not the character or actor at all. CVs have showed very abusive scenes like Ajit raping and hitting, physically abusing his wife, Rasika trying to burn her DIL. Savita-Archana trying to burn each other and also the entire Deshmukh family getting beaten up so so badly in jail. I am with you I have the same request for the CVs and Ekta not to show this much physical abuse.

Gemstar any type of abuse be it slapping, cursing, burning, pushing, raping etc all are bad...Playing a prank on anyone where they get hurt is even worst because it is intentional...Lets just stay on topic in opposing any sort of abuse...I understand what you are saying and appreciate it.
Naava
Dear Appreciate your post...I have been against all the abuse since the beginning of the show..PR has been slapping galore...Only unlearned and ignorant people who do it IMHO...SOmetime even educated people do it too which is even worse as they know what is right from wrong.
Thanks for liking my post as i want EK to know what she is showing in any of her serials is wrong. Raping of a woman or a wife by husband when she says NO is NO . It is not man's right to have sex with his wife just because he is her husband. same goes the other way around too..Some men also are abused just like women..SO this is not sex - gender oriented post..My post is in general.
THanks again for your input...
Quarky we are basically discussing the abuse or the unknown force which may have end up hurting Ankita's wrist...I do not want to discuss who should apologize to whome...that is storyline issue and CVs can recognize their own mistake...But one thing for sure even during-after shooting HT must have been sad that the scene ended up hurting Ankita. He is a fine gentleman and actor...Ankita is also professional. You are so right it is not that HT hit Ankita...It was Manav and Archana in that scene...Nothing was intentional but accidently got hurt...😳
I appreciate everyone's input and hoping - praying CVS-EK maiya reads it and the lights go on in her brain..
Bhalla dear totally with your post...All the points noted, agreed and hope they read us 😃
