Worst of all the type of language gets used at times is just shocking...I know the show is about chawl but do we have to show as if they are like animals?

Varsha I have been thinking about what Gemstar said, for a while and I thought such a that a valid point is being made here. If an accident happens in a chemical company (Bhopal Gas Tragedy) then lawsuits and public outrage follows and millions of dollars are spend to settle such lawsuits...in some cases company can run into bankruptcy..in USA, a medicine with adverse events associated is killed immediately in its clinical trial...there are corporate and ethical responsibilities that Western company need to follow, and public outcry follows if it fails to show itself as a good corporate citizen...this should also apply to media companies as well...they do impact public thinking and can have deep penetrating societal impacts not easily seen...so why can't a media company take it responsibility as a corporate citizen and have programs that shows that it is behaving ethically... a employees of a brick and mortar company are not necessarily targeted, but a corporation is...so yes, Balaji should be held accountable too. I mean I have read so many times that a member/viewer said that slapping is an Indian culture...I, myself have posted so many times against such posts...so yes, there are negative impacts that is evident in this forum itself...

I alos agree that actor/actress with their popularity can also be impactful...they can potentially be part of programs or representations that works to eradicate such societal vices...yes definitely an issue I am appreciating from Gemstar...

Not everything that comes out as an article is a statement given by actors (or actress). I am not stating anything about this particular actress quoted in your post, but it happened with another actress of Zee of another show wherein an article came out stating something said by the actress which was totally incorrect. In fact she had not said a word of what was in the article. I came to know about this via someone who had close contacts with her. Do not want to name the show or the actress as it could harm her. But a lot of times it is the channel's PR folks giving such proxy bytes to the print media so as to increase circulation or quell the anger among the viewers. Such statements cannot be believed unless it was cross-verified.

But what you watch in a video cannot be denied, but that again is edited out (heavily). I am not accepting or denying anything here again, but the origin of such issues (as is in this thread as a request) is to the owners and CVs of the show to move towards civility. Its high time.

There has to be some 3rd party company controlling or approving what is being shown on TV..Companies like BT and the owners have to be held responsible and Celebs need to take stand to say yes or no to the right cause or script...

These serials are not only viewed in India...Now viewership is globally...We are giving wrong msgs...Even to our young generation who may not be aware living abroad...Although Ihave diff opinion on that and it is a whole diff topic...But these type of script gives out wrong msg, info to the audiance...Unless voice is not raised against it, it will keep on happening...

Social issues are handled so poorly and totally in ridiculous manner..Look at what PR did with Alzheimer or Forgetful behavior of Savita..Possibly depression too, Psychotic behavior of Varsha, they were handled so poorly..

EK's other serial BALH BC was introduced but w/o further information or education it was concluded that her lump was benign...Nothing abt what BC is and what is involved...what to look for and proactive checking...Nothing like that...

Professionals IE doctors, Lawyers, Police officers all are shown so unprofessional as if audiance has no brain...People know when they are fed bunch of lies or ridiculous lines..

Yes, Varsha…very true, all these serials brings forth important social issues and when the forum gets really hot with debate (I remember how we were debating with the Union issues here) then the Cvs just handled it in the moist immature way…sometimes, ignoring the main issue…childish to the max….

I agree the BS in DAHL, was poorly handled…nothing was done to educate the women or even make them aware to self check…yes, these company only cares about their bottom line and nothing else matters – when in essence they also have a responsibility towards the society they entertain….

I would love to hear you views on what I underlined, might be a bit off topic…
