Hi Jhanvi, Loved your post. Specifically,Originally posted by: soapwatcher1
Dear Purvi,
You were right from the beginning. You doubted how Arjun could love you, you were a middle class girl, he belongs to circles beyond your wildest dreams. Some of us scoffed at you, we were wrong. Birds of a feather flock together, you belong to your own circle of middle class izzat, safe-guarding of reputations and working hard to better your lot in life. You certainly do not belong in Arjun's circle (or Ovi's) and I hope he has made that sufficiently clear to you today. He has done it time and time again, the day of the surprise engagement where he put his dad's and Ovi's izzat over you but you have been blinded by his so mobile, emoting face.
Arjun understands his izzat and loss of face better than yours. Cannot blame him, he is after all not born in the mohalla. He has more in common with Ovi than with you. He might have been temporarily dazzled by chawl magic, the midnight pav eating and a girl who did not care for his social class and gave him as good as she got. But remember, he is used to the fawning and clinging and probably finds that more easy to slip into than in coming clean about you. Will he ever is the question. Do not waste any time with the likes of him, move on, shrug this liking you have for him as your "pehla pyaar" (very wise of you in your choice of words at the airport), he is definitely not the "pyaar of your zindaagi" however much the CVs might try to convince you.
Arjun stepped out of his comfort zone for you, it was a novelty, it was like a child in a costume store. As the night rolls around, the kid is tired and puts an end to his play acting and wants to head home. So is it with Arjun, he played for a little while happily but now it is time for him to return to his luxuries and fake societal reputation, time to return to his Barbie doll fiance who will soon be his trophy wife, to his Ovi.
Move on, girl, stiffen your back, don't demean yourself by giving him those hurt looks, Arjun does not deserve them. He is never going to tell, he is too happy basking in all that attention.
And, another word of advice, the man you call baba is not worth your love either. Get out of their company, find another job, get yourself a nice looking man who loves you enough to bring down the stars for you and carry yourself with a spring in your step. You deserve it. No more moping, no more silent tears, no more hurt, the guy you imagine yourself in love with is not worth two pennies.
Please get a grip and don't fall into the voodoo trap of "baba" and "aai ki khushi" and Teju's banter. We are rooting for you, Miss Purvi. Show them, please, if not for your sake, for ours at least.
Sincerely, Your ardent fan
