Agree on your take about children.
Ok here I go with my 2 questions.
Who was your favorite character in Mahabharata? Why?
What is your take on "Karna" the chaacter.
Once I read your answer I might be inspired to ask more.
Thanks in advance for answering my Qs.
Keep it up. Great going 👍🏼

Varsha my favorite character in Mahabharath is Krishna . I bow before him , who is Jagad Guru and who showed Shakuni how deceit can be met with unscruplous virtue . How the Ends justify the means and how Evil should be dealt with in the Kaliyuga.

I sympathise with Karna . I sympathise with him bcoz grave injustice was done to him when it was not his fault .

Irresponsible evoking of the mantra and bearing child before marraige was Kunti's fault .

Putting him in basket and sending him down the river , an inhuman act , and later getting married herself and having a life was Kunti's fault .

Being bred in a Suta House , a caste lower than his was not his fault .

Constantly denied education due to his low birth stigma when he clearly had the genes for becoming excellent warrior was not his fault .

Thirsting for education he LIED to gain admission in a Gurukula of Parashurama . Drona refused to teach him . So learning his lesson , Karna LIED .

And what happens ?? He excels at education but gets cursed by Guru that ur Vidya will leave u when u need it the MOST ...why ??? Coz he did not shift his thigh as a bee stung him and bore a hole in his flesh ...as his Guru lay sleeping with his head on his lap . He did not want to disturb his Guru's sleep so he remained still ...he gritted his teeth and bore the pain till the Guru awakened due to the coldness of Karna's blood that flew under his body .

For his immense Guru Bhakti , Karna got a CURSE . His lie , was not overlooked or forgiven . It was a LIE to gain education . The purpose was noble , not villainous . Even if it was a mistake in those days , Karna should have been forgiven for this lie for shedding blood but not awakening his Guru .

He was NOT forgiven . This was his fault ...his first fault and for WHAT a purpose ? And see the punishment .

All his life he lived under a burden that was NOT HIS .

Kunti shud have borne this social isolation , not he . Kunti lived in a palace and got respect , Karna got ostracization .

Finally he got a place in kingly society due to Duryodhan . Duryodhan decided to use his warrior skills , yes , but Duryodhan also appreciated him whole heartedly . Duryodhan was a rebel , and he did not appreciate within the boundaries set by others . He appreciated what HE saw .

Then he faced rejection and humiliation from Draupadi . At every step of the way he later encountered this woman who never left an opportunity to insult him .

By that time he had enough

His most bad karma ...what we call Neecha Karma was when he supported Duryodhan and Dushasan in suggesting that Draupadi be stripped publicly . This indeed was a grievous fault .

But he had been pushed too far , and for once the beast in him got provoked . His downfall was ATAL then .

Kunti went to him to beg for the life of her 5 sons and manipulated his feelings before the war day . He was saddened to see that even NOW his mom had come to ask something of him , not simply for him .

He promised her that 5 of her sons wud live . As in reality she had 6 .

Krishna met him before war commenced and urged him to come over to the side of GOOD .

Krishna tempted him with what he desired ALL his life ...recognition in society as a TRUE prince from a higher caste

And Draupadi as his wife . The undercurrents between him and Draupadi r referred to in the Mahabharatha in the Jambul Akhyan .

The ultimate temptation dangled before him were social recognition and Draupadi 's acceptance ...and he evaluated them and refused as loyalty to his friend was greater in his eyes .

Even God [ Krishna} manipulated Karna .

Killed unfairly in war when he raised his hand pleading them to stop as his wheel got struck in the mud and he was removing it with both hands .He was shot while he raised one hand asking them to stop .

Apologised to Duryodhan...admitting that he cud NOT give his 100% in the war as people had manipulated him emotionally before the war ...Kunti and Krishna.

Killed for a virtue ...Loyalty .

Had to be loyal as no one else appreciated him .

Accused of getting above himself ...but in reality he WAS above the status in which he was supposedly born . He yearned to be a warrior as his blood was a warrior's blood .

Arjun's parents manipulated Karna before the war and ensured Arjun wud live .

Kunti asked him to spare Arjun . Indra went in disguise of Brahmin and asked for his armor ...Kavach Kundal .

The only person who truly showed affection for Karna was his biological father Surya . He went and warned him that Indra wud come in a disguise and ask him for DAAN ...after his morning prayers .

Dont give him the armor ...Surya warned his son .

But he gave it anyway . He never refused DAAN ...generosity was his principle in life . Even Indra was struck and offered him his Vajra for one day .But K was forced to use it used it on Ghatotkach . He cud not save it for Arjun.

He gave everything to his enemies

and got nothing in return .

Yes he gets my sympathy . Karna was the classic anti hero in Mahabharatha if Arjun was the hero and Duryodhan was the villain .

as he promised kunti , her 5 sons lived .

When the oblations to the deceased were offered , His hand came up is the story . When Yudhistir did not understand Krishna told him to offer oblations to him as he was his Elder brother .

He got dignity in death . Karna's story brings tears in my eyes unfailingly . He was blamed for being a villain when society left him no other choice but to become one .

Thank u Varsha , I cud go on and on as this is very dear to my heart . It was very difficult for me to condense or summarize Karna .

He is also my favorite Varsha . Its just that right now I am studying Krishna in a spiritual sense ...all The unfair means he used upwardly had a spiritual significance .

When I read of him , I always see him cheated , cheated and cheated .

One of Kunti's MOST Tejasvi sons ...He wud have enjoyed utmost power and glory as a Pandav ...as the ELDEST PRINCE he wud have RULED Hastinapura . All that Yudhistir enjoyed , it was rightfully HIS .

To his credit , Yudhistir is the Pandav who has BLASTED his mother for Karna's fate when Krishna told him why the hand came up .

Yudhitir , kniown for his calmess and rationale , CURSED womankind that u will NEVER be able to keep a secret . Coz he was FURIOUS that Kunti guarded this secret so well , TILL HE DIED .

If Only I had Known earlier , If Only I had known was Yudhistir's lament .

Thanks for liking my thoughts .
