I personally prefer totally unrelated people . Far too many complications . Also , if u grow up together u kinda stat looking on cousin as sister .It becomes awkward . But some Brother sister offprnngs marry and turn out fine .To each his own .

I found this out when My DIL who is Telugu Brahmin shared this with me that Her Mamaya had first right over her hand b4 anyone. She was against it anyways. I was very much shocked as how can uncle or cousin can get married. But later on abt 5 yrs ago only I found out many in southern states follow that.
