Hai Hope Di.Wonderful Post.Excellent analysis of Men in PR,Damads of
K's.👏👏👏👏
Loved it.Its so nice to read it.And your description of them, waah. You
have put in so well. And a nice thread.

I too like and prefer sathish the more as a man(though I am a crazy
ARMAN lover and like manav too).He is too good and a man with a exact
quality that a girl will look for her future partner. As you said a
perfect gentleman.

Then come a Manav. A finest human being with certain flaws(being
emotionally weak)which makes him a weak husband too sometimes. He was
the first and foremost reason to watch PR(though later I turned to
adherent archu fan and like sathish too). A guy who was so realistic
differing from the other filmy heros of tv serials. He is a
compassionate lover.Though last friday was quite disappointing and
sad,It has promised that he will be good husband too and take care of
archu well.Just need to learn some sensibilty and way to see things
other than from emotional pov.

And Last Dharmu,I wasn't interested with him, with the latest turn of
events. He has become too practical, that he goes out of line for me.
But after reading yours,Yes he too wasn't so wrong or harmful,Just like
sathish ,manav,he is a man of differnt category.

Excellent analysis Hope. Yes the men's characters are better shaped than the women's.

The award must go to the perfect gentleman, every woman's dream husband SATISH .He is so loving , considerate and romantic.

I suggest u include Ajit too.A villain turned hero !!

Damo who keeps praying for Arman reunion. (cant we call him selfless?)

And our very own Mohan rao and Manohar(Kool's and my favourites)

the list for the men has grown long.

so we will do one at a time.

for now I will make an inventory of requests received and to dissect them from many angles

  • jaywant
  • vinod - DONE
  • ajit
  • fathers - mohanrao, manohar, damodhar, taklu rane (Ok Kools I am going to leave ALL OF THEM for you to do)😛
  • tarun and vishwasrao (confirmed bachelor)
  • rasika's missing husband (Ok Kools I am going to leave that one for you to do)

I will post something later today on jaywant. some may actually disagree

btw, with so many characters to write about - WRITERS NEEDED ASAP😆

Ok I was planning on updating this thread with thoughts on another man so lets start with VINOD

VINOD .......... The Elastic Prop

To me the character of Vinod is a prop. Seriously he has no valuable role in this entire saga. he has no influence on the events happening at all. I honestly feel that whent he CVs where writing this script they wrote this character so that they could legitimately intoduce Rasika, Ajit and Manjusha (RAM) . the three main villians.

Why Prop?

Well If there was no vinod there would be no RAM and then no ArMan right? because Archu would have either remained single or married Archu.

  • By himself he does not make enough to support his family and his parents. he needs to borrow from wifey.
  • when they left Sulo and Manav and Vaishali still survived. They did not even look impoverished or lose the house
  • he did not take any major financial responsibillity as the older brother for any of the girls weddings. For Archu he gave bangles bas. Rest was paid by Sulo-Man. for Varsha - Manav took loan an for Vaishali they never really showed so my assumption is that Dharnesh and Manohar spent? Who knows
  • archu left with his girls and he could exert no authority or influence. thank god manjusha came back herself.
  • he could not stop the divorce as an older sibling, could not counsel her on post divorce life, could not vet the second groom or even find a suitable boy
  • is only a sounding board for Manjusha's gripes, grunts, and schemes
  • Basically, he just exists. when they need to fill screen time, they give him a few dialogues, whenever something bad happens to him the net day it is fixed. no lasting impact or influence.
Why Elastic?

Kabhi Idhar Kabhi Udhar. No firm thikana

think about it

  • At archu's engagement he was happy about Manav because Sulo was happy about Manav
  • After wedding he was unhappy about Manav because Sulo was unhappy about Manav
  • At Varsha's wedding he loved manav because sulo loved manav
  • After divorce same thing
  • At second engagement he thought Manav was evil because Sulo thought Manav was duplicitous
  • Now he thinks Manav is manipulative because Dharmesh and Manjusha think so

The man has no original thought, he is either a reflection or a sound board for other people's thoughts and opinions.

Hihihihi!!! 😆

How true Hope! This man Vinod has no concrete role in the story!

I hope CV's make him have an extra marital affair cos he is disgusted with his wife who throws sulo-mano out. He realises manju doesn't care for his wishes or family!!! The new woman should be very understanding, friendly with children and respectful to Sulo-Mano, the type who takes knife and veggies from hand and says, "I will do it, aap aaram kijiye."

It would be fun! It would be even more fun if Manju says I'm not going to divorce my hubby, and if you throw me out I will tell Mahila Samiti. And then frustrated Vinod should bring that woman by himself (let's assume she is sort of poor and has no place to stay- she's run into a bit of trouble) and says she will stay in this house only then. And even though they stay in their limits and stay separately in the house, yet Manju looks at that character and feels like murdering her.

Oh, what fun! All of Manjusha's nails would finish I think! We really need an Amar Prem type twist in this Manju-vinod dukhi kahani.

What a fantastic thread 👏
Of all the characters, I find Satish the best.
He tackles every problem with a cool head and never raises his voice. He looks to his conscience and takes decisions which feel right to him, and looks for the betterment of all. But most of all, he's reasonable.
and Nikita, I agree about the Manju Vinod track. That woman should get a taste of her own medicine for a change, and it would allow the family to see her true colours. Not that they have'nt seen it before... they're all too blind to see it now. Instead of making ArMan's life miserable, she should concentrate on improving her own.

Loved the post on Vinod ..😆
Ok , so he is the elder bro with three younger sisters .. so like most families in this country is "responsible" for getting them married .. but here we see manav making that possible , not vinod -

1) Varsha - saving her from ashwin fiasco + 3 lac loan ..
2) Vaishu - Cooking for hundreds of guests + 10k loan later on ( remember the bank scene? )
3) Archu - Well .. um .. he married her , right ?

Initially , manav , vinod and ajit were the three guys in the show , then later on many guys were introduced one by one - satish , ashwin , dharmesh , jaywant ...
all of them making an impact on the storyline and changing the course of PR .. but Vinod .. hmm..

First the show was about the RAM team wrecking havoc .. next it was about the K damads ... now it is about the love story of two phatichars ( no offense..)
Vinod has never really figured anywhere..
