PR records high TRP's of 6.7

GEC watch: Top two channels record growth

STAR Plus, while still ruling as the most watched Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC), has increased its share in the latest week, as per TAM Media Research report data. The channel commands 25 per cent share of the overall GEC pie in Week 22 (C&S, 4+, HSM). The channel has recorded 336 GRPs.

Colors has increased its share from 20 per cent in Week 21 to 22 per cent in Week 22. The channel has added 31 GRPs and is at No. 2. Zee's relative share has declined to 18 per cent and it is at the No. 3 spot in Week 22.

Sony and Imagine TV, which are at the No. 4 and No. 5 ranks respectively, have maintained their shares at 12 per cent and 8 per cent respectively. SAB has garnered a 6 per cent relative share, followed by STAR One, which has garnered 4 per cent share.

DD1, STAR Utsav and Sahara One have garnered 2 per cent share each in Week 22.

Three of Zee's shows are in the Top 10 list in the latest week. Pavitra Rishta is the most watched programme among Hindi GECs, garnering a TVR of 6.7, followed by Dance India Dance Li'l Champions, which has recorded a TVR of 5.6.

Pratigya on STAR Plus follows closely at No. 3 with a TVR of 5.5, followed by Balika Vadhu, which has managed to rake in a TVR of 5.4. This marks the show's entry in the Top 10 list after a long time. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is at No. 5, garnering a TVR of 4.8 along with Uttaran.

The other programmes in the list are Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, Na Aana Is Des Laado, Bidayi and Sab Ki Laadli Bebo.

6.7 is one of the highest TRP that PR has ever got :)

No 6.7 is not its Highest it has got a Tvr of 7 before....

PRians just rely on me, so they won't know😛
but I know i'm right. the highest PR has got in TAM is 5.4 I think so we will see then.

but trust me I have never seen 7 for PR.

and next week it will be higher then 7 so it doesn't matter😛

GEC Watch: Week 1, 2010 - of growth and new beginnings

The data rolled out by TAM Media Research in the first week of 2010 may indicate a positive trend. Most channels in the general entertainment genre have witnessed growth, with the total GRPs recorded by the channels in Week 1 this year being 1,098.

The top four channels have witnessed a cumulative increase of 65 GRPs. Colors stays on top with 24 per cent relative share, recording 336 GRPs in Week 1. The channel has added 23 GRPs from last week. The telecast of Hindi movie, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, fetched a TVR of 7.5.

STAR Plus, at No. 2, has recorded 298 GRPs and a relative share of 21 per cent in Week 1. Zee, which is at No. 3 in the latest week, has added 14 GRPs from Week 52 last year. Its channel share stands at 20 per cent.

Sony's GRPs have climbed to 180 and its channel share has increased from 12 per cent in the previous week to 13 per cent in the latest week. The channel, which is at No. 4, has received a reasonably good response for its new weekend line-up.

The most watched of its five new shows was Lift Kara De, the reality show, which fetched a TVR of 1.4. In the past, its other shows, Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao and 10 Ka Dum, have elicited a far better response. Other shows, Seven and Mahi Way, have recorded TVRs of 1.1 and 1, respectively.

NDTV Imagine and SAB are at par with 6 per cent share each, and share the No. 5 rank in Week 1. The GRPs garnered by the two channels are 86 and 85, respectively. STAR One follows, with 3 per cent relative channel share. Sahara One, DD1 and STAR Utsav have garnered 2 per cent share each; while 9X has fetched 1 per cent share.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani was the most watched property on Hindi GECs. Pavitra Rishta on Zee is the second most watched programme recording a TVR of 7, followed by Uttaran, which got a TVR of 6.5. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Balika Vadhu are at No. 4, with TVR of 6.2 each.

Other programmes on the Top 10 list are: Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, Jashn 2010, one- hour special episodes of Bidaai and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Chhoti Bahu and Bidaai.
