yes . Today we see Savita saying to Sachin's photo u come in the form of baby . And this is what I always pointed out ........that it is not at all about saving Shravnis honor . It is ALSO about keeping the baby in the house alone . Now the question of Shravni's honor just doesnt remain as the whole society knows she is an unwed mother .Yet Manav is marrying her ..........why ?
To keep his word to her .
If he is such a man of his word , what about the sacred vow he made to Archna in front of society ? He seems to not mind breaking THAT WORD .
Why ? What is it that Shravni has that Archna , with all her love , purity and 'goodness' does not have ?
The Baby . The Deshmukh Baby . So simple . Since he was anyways being divorced Manav was quick enough to grab this opportunity to give his mom at least this chance at happiness after their tremendous personal loss . And when Archu came back , he was in no mood to even try and give his marraige a chance anymore now that Archu had clearly repented .
Why ? was Manav a hard hearted , unforgiving man ?
No . In fact , the contrary . Yet he wanted the divorce ASAP and till now , inspite of a mountain of Archus good deeds he is still INSISTING on it . His eyes r on the baby .........Archu is unimportant compared to it .We can be good friends he says to her , BUT THATS IT .WE PART WAYS HERE ARCHU is the message .
And so I say .........Let Manav marry Shravni and understand what he lost and what he gained .

Wow KS, I could have written your post! I am still not impressed though. Manav is too weak a man in my mind. I wouldnt be able to respect a real person who ditched his wife so his mom can cling on to his bro's illegitimate baby. The whole situation is too contrived. The actor plays the helpless hero well but this character is no hero in my mind.

I only see two possibilities with ShraMan marriage
Either their marriage will be on the rocks the day it starts...Doomed from the get go
Or
New Manav only focused on one and only thing MONEY as there won't be love in their marriage...Manav can't love Shrav....He loved Archu...
New track Shravni's back up bank Girishji providing all to Manav...He will be the new enlightened born again dude who will become a totally different person than who he is today...Wait and watch what he did not do for deserving Archu will do wonders for Shravani....Archu thinks she knows Manav too well...if he becomes all money focused bigshot than what?
Creatives minds are so twisted anything is possible...

👏👏👏

How badly I second that! I really pity Sushant Singh Rajput who plays this character. The character has totally lost perspective and become difficult to tolerate. (Mind you, he was my favourite once) The charm of the story has totally gone and I really can't understand how the serial wallahs are glorifying both Archana and Manav as people who live for others. It is a SHAME.

And hence my constant insistence that PR should ve shut down as soon as possible since the serial makers have made a mockery out of a very good concept and ruined three of the best characters that they had introduced in the beginning of the serial

Manav: The simple mechanic who falls in love with a girl outside his league and despite being considered as the 'bad fate' of the girl, MAKES HIS MARRIAGE WORK.

Sulochana: A mother who does not compromise in the name of marriage and looks out for her daughter.

Varsha: A breath of fresh air truly! This character showed that it is not wrong if you step outside the conventional 'sanskar' thingy of hindi serials- that it is possible to respect you culture, your roots, even if you become modern or wear jeans- that it is not wrong to be modern, and an office working, English speaking, loudmouth modern girl is not necessary the villain.

See what they have been reduced to today! Pathetic!

Anyway enough of my ramblings!!!

Kools I agree with your post. As of now, he isn't doing anything wrong by looking out for his daughter or talking to Archana. He is better than the other dads in the serial, truly. In fact I think he is the most balanced character in the show right now.

I just have two problems with him.

1.) How could he decide to get his foreign educated, beautiful, intelligent (not really, but okay, that is a different topic) and only daughter married to a mechanic, that too someone in whose house a complaint of harassment had been made?????????????
That was my primary grouse against him. I still feel he was wrong. On no account is he justified that he agreed to get his daughter married to his servant!!!!
But as we all know, we are in the chauvistic land of PR, where we see that marriage is supreme and without marriage a girl is better off dead. And so I don't blame Girish. In fact I thank the creatives for showing us that Manav agreed to marry Shravani, else maybe we would have seen that Girish gets a beggar from the road to get his daughter married (Yeah, I know sick comparison but these are the exact thoughts that came to my mind the day the whole Shravani- Manav marriage was decided. At that time I had more sympathy for Shravani than Manav)

2.) He knows that this marriage will harm Shravani more than do good to her, since Manav does not love her, but still says nothing. The only person who could have advised her, being elder, made her see perspective is now of no use. I had my hoes on him cos he was the only sane character left in the show.

But I guess I always expect more- when my Manav did not deliver then how can I expect the sidey to deliver??????????

Anyway interesting post as always Kools.
👏👏👏

I love my Dad!!!!!!!!!

Ok so lets do analysis on Girishji then. What was his reaction when he came to know about Shravani and Sachin. He got angry with his daughter, totally disapproved her choice saying that Sachin is no match for her and Deshmukh family is no match to their status. But later he gives in to his stubborn daughters demand on one condition that Sachin will prove his credibility. He then gets his daughter engaged to Sachin ceremoniously . On day of engagement when he watches Savita's behaviour towards Archana, he is worried and asks his daughter to reconsider her decision, but Shravani convinces him saying that Sachin will go abroad to study and later they'll settle abroad.

Then when Deshmukhs are locked up in police custody, he goes to bail them out. He understands that a false FIR was lodged against Deshmukhs. He wasn't bothered by the fact that Deshmukhs made a trip to police lock-up and were beaten up by police. He didn't think of calling off marriage at that point though normally a father of bride will be troubled with such incident taking place in the family that his daughter is going to be married but Girishji was cool about it. And look how he transformed when Sachin's visa application got rejected and he returned home drunk. He grabbed Shravani's hand and left abruptly. Then he makes a phone call to Sachin saying ' Look dude, you didn't get visa and that was the condition for marriage I'd agreed with Shravani, so marriage is off'.

How many fathers will do what Girishji did? Wasn't it a businessman like approach? How many father will treat marriage like a deal in this manner- No Visa No Marriage .

His daughters happiness didn't matter to him anymore. And if you say that he is looking for his daughter's best interest then how come he is letting his daughter marry Manav and live in same house with Savita now? Calling off marriage with Sachin when his visa got cancelled and agreeing to give Shravani's hand to Manav ( who is owner of garage now) has something to do with his businessman thinking.

Archana has been a pleaser since birth along with being a good hearted person, she knows no other way to live than serve everyone else around her. Its in her dna. I think she is really putting herself out there because deep down she knows Manav and his family really dont mind. However, Shravani does and since Shravani is their future, she should respect her wishes and keep away.

I agree, hope that eventually she will get more involved in her own life and learn to keep away .

I don't see Girish as hateful, I actually liked the way he spoke to Manav and Archana. He knows both of them are good people and knows that this situation with Shravani is difficult for all. The only problem I have with Girish is the fact he knows Archana and Manav still love each other, how can he let his daughter marry someone who loves someone else? That is no life a parents wants for their child, it is just the wrong thing to do.

You have pretty much said what I want to say . he knows they love each other , still he wants his daughter to spoil a marriage and why would a father push her daughter in a relationship like that .
Also the way he asked Archana to give up her marriage for her daughter's haq was wrong ....But of course Manav too has to be blames as to why Girish and Shravani are attacking Archana left right and center . this man has put his wife in so much pain ...still she loves him ...is obsessed with him and his family .
One day she will be out of that house . I just can't wait to see that day and will keep hoping that she starts being a little more worried about her own life .

Kool , I have been thinking a lot about your various posts .
Ok I will be frank and honest . Some point of your , I agree , even though it isdifficult for me to accept but yes , on some issues yu were right and I was wrong. But on some ,I am pretty sure that I do not want to change my POV as I am pretty sure about them ..
Points I agree.
Manav does not really love Archana . If he did he would have made some effort to keep his marriage . he does not love her ...Period .
Archana isin denial..she knows inside that he is kicking me out but she is disguising this rejection as ' he is a good man who is doing qurbaani and that no one can break my relationship with him in saat janam .
She lacks self respect ...that is why she is still part of this family and that is why she is even ready to take the humiliation of watching him marrying Shravani ..She , at this point has no selfrespect ....she needs therapy to better her self esteem .This rejection by Manav has destroyed her as a woman ....
Savita deserves to be punished more .
Manav should marry Shravani now ...and find out what he has missed in life .
Points I don't agree..
I just do not understand why you see so much goodin Shravani .l have tried , but I don't . To me she is a selfish spoilt brat who has to have what she wants ASAP , also very shameless and insensitive ...very dislikable character .
Girish ...I still feel Girish is very manipulative and he has no right asking Archana to give up her husband for his daughter ...
